통상의 혁대나 가방 또는 신발 등에 사용되는 포지는 외관상 노출되는 외피만을 칼라로 도색하여 표면처리하고, 그 내면은 무가공상태로 되어 거친 면이 형성되어 있거나 별도의 포지를 덧대어서 봉합하여 사용하였던 것으로, 이는 사용시 외피의 색상이 벗겨지거나 손상되면 교체가 불가피하고 내피와 외피를 별도로 구성하여 번거롭고 이에따른 제작원가의 상승과 봉합처리에 의한 결합이 제작이 사용시 쉽게 파손될 문제점이 있었던 것이다. 도면 제1도 및 제2도는 이와 같은 종래의 포지를 혁대에 사용한 예를 단면도로서 표현한 것이며, 이에 도시한 바와 같이 외피(1)와 내피(2)를 이중으로 봉합처리하여 구성하거나 또는 외피(1)와 내피(2) 사이에 중간피(3)를 보강재로 넣어서 사용하였던 것이다.Forges used in ordinary belts, bags, shoes, etc. are coated with only the outer skin exposed in color and surface treated, and the inner surface is unprocessed to form a rough surface or sutured with a separate forge.
