지도의 불가피한 복잡성으로 사용자가 찾고자하는 목표지점을 손쉽게 찾을수 없을뿐아니라 찾았다 하더라도 자신이 있는 위치에서 도로망과 방향, 거리를 살피려고 눈을돌리면 찾앗던 목표지점을 다시찾아야하는 불편함이 있었다. 더욱이 자동차를 운전하면서 지도를 사용, 목표지점을 찾아보는 불편은 심각할정도로 아예 지도를 사용하지 않는 형편이며 사용한다 하더라도 지도위에다 볼펜 등으로 목표지점에 원을 그려 표시라는 사례가 허다하였다. 이와같은 불편을 해결하기 위하여 안출된 고안으로 그 구성을 살펴보면 다음과 같다.Due to the inevitable complexity of the map, the user could not easily find the target point he wanted to find, but even if he found it, he had the inconvenience of re-finding the target point he had found if he turned to look at the road network, direction, and distance from his location.
