Claims (14)

(a) 34-98.7 weight percent of at least one polyarylate, (b) 0-59.2 weight percent of at least one polyester, (c) 1-12 weight percent of at least one olefin copolymer containing epoxide functionality, (d) a thermoplastic polyester composition consisting essentially of 0.3-8.0% by weight of at least one of methacrylonitrile and acrylonitrile and at least one nitrile-containing copolymer derived from at least one of α-methyl styrene and sterene . The composition of claim 1 wherein the polyarylate is derived from at least one dihydric phenol and derivatives thereof, and at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid and derivatives thereof. The composition of claim 2 wherein the polyarylate is a reaction fish product of 2,2-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) propane and derivatives thereof and at least one compound selected from terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and derivatives thereof. 4. The composition of claim 3 wherein the ratio of isophthalic acid and derivatives thereof: terephthalic acid and derivatives thereof is 100: 0-10: 90. The composition of claim 4 wherein said ratio is 100: 0-70: 30. The composition of claim 4 wherein said ratio is 100: 0-90: 10. The composition of claim 1 wherein the polyester is derived from at least one aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diol, and at least one dicarboxylic acid and derivatives thereof. 8. The composition of claim 7, wherein the dicarboxylic acid is selected from terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and derivatives thereof. The composition of claim 8 wherein the polyester is poly (ethylene terephthalate). The composition of claim 1 wherein the olefin copolymer containing an epoxide function is derived from monomers (a) and (b) of the general formula: Wherein R is H or alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms, and Wherein R = H, lower alkyl or phenyl, wherein, based on the weight of monomers (a) and (b) alone, the monomers of formula (a) comprise a copolymer of 0.5-15% by weight The monomers of (b) comprise 85-99.5% by weight of copolymer. The composition of claim 1 wherein the olefin copolymer containing an epoxide function is derived from monomers (a), (b) and (c) of the general formula: Where R = H or alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms Wherein R is H, lower alkyl, or phenyl, and Wherein R ₁ = H or lower alkyl and R ₂ = 1-8 carbonyl alkyl, wherein, based on the weight of monomers (a), (b) and (c) alone, Monomers of 0.5 to 15% by weight of the copolymer of formula (b) monomers of 45-99.4% by weight of the copolymer, formula (c) monomers of 0.1 to 40% by weight of the air Include coalescing.
