본 영구기관이 가능하기 위해서는 제1부의 m에 물체를 달아 멧을 때 다음과 같은 조건이 성립되어야 한다.
첫째 제1부 m에 물체를 달아 메었을 때 다른 것은 회전하여도 m는 회전하지 않아야 한다.
둘째 제1부 m에서 분리된 3개의 힘은 J.K.P.Q에 전달하되 그 힘이 균형을 이루어서는 않된다.
