Depending on the type of aerosol presentation device 1, the second end 13 of the housing 10 may be configured to receive an article, a mouthpiece or a cartridge comprising a mouthpiece.
Referring to Figure 2, the housing 10 of the aerosol delivery device 1 is shown with the portion shown in Figure 1 removed. As shown in Figure 2, the aerosol delivery device 1 further includes a power source 3 located inside the housing 10. Power source 3 is used to power the aerosol delivery device 1 during use. The power source 3 may be, for example, but is not limited to a battery.
Referring now to Figure 3, the housing 10 of the aerosol delivery device 1 is shown with the portion shown in Figure 1 and the power source 3 shown in Figure 2 removed. The housing 10 includes a power receiving compartment 15 within the external body 11. The power receiving compartment 15 is configured to accommodate the power source 3. The power receiving compartment 15 is defined by the outer body 11 of the housing 10.
The housing 10 further includes an end cap 16 positioned at the first end 12 of the outer body 11 . The end cap 16 is configured to hermetically close the power receiving compartment 15, as will be described in greater detail later.
Additionally, the housing 10 of the aerosol presentation device 1 includes an aperture 17 and a panel 18 in the side wall 14. As shown in Figure 3, panel 18 is positioned in aperture 17 when panel 18 is in its first position. In the first position, the panel 18 is configured to seal and close the hole 17 such that the power receiving compartment 15 is fluidically isolated from the atmosphere.
The panel 18 is movable from the first position to the second position. When the panel 18 is in its second position, the panel 18 is at least partially removed from the aperture 17 so that the power receiving compartment 15 is in fluid communication with the atmosphere. For the avoidance of doubt, the term “atmosphere” is used herein to mean the environment surrounding the housing 10 of the aerosol providing device 1 .
The panel 18 is moveable from a first position to a second position when the internal pressure of the power receiving compartment exceeds a predefined threshold, as will be described in greater detail later. Pressure-movable panels 18 within the power receiving compartment 15 ensure that the power source 3 is protected from water damage, while allowing gases to escape from aerosols in the event the power source 3 overheats or malfunctions. Allow ventilation out of the provision device (1). By providing a controlled means for venting gases out of the aerosol presentation device 1, damage to the housing 10 is avoided.
The end cap 16 of the housing 10 is connected to the first end 12 of the outer body 11 . End cap 16 is a generally hollow tubular element with closed ends. The end cap 16 includes an end plate 21 forming a closed end. The end plate 21 of the end cap 16 forms the first end 5 of the aerosol presentation device 1 . The end cap 16 of the housing 10 includes a side wall 22 extending from the peripheral edge 23 of the end plate 21 .
Referring briefly to Figure 4, a perspective view is shown from the second end 13 of the housing 10, with the main body 11 and power source 3 removed. As illustrated in FIG. 4 , the side wall 22 of the end cap 16 includes a first section 25 and a second section 26. The first section 25 extends from the end plate 21 and includes a first outer peripheral surface 27 . The first outer peripheral surface 27 has the same dimensions as the first end 12 of the outer body 11 of the housing 10 and thus sits 'flush with' the main body 11 .
The second section 26 of the side wall 22 of the end cap 16 extends from the first section 25 of the side wall 22 . A second section 26 of the side wall 22 extends from an end of the first section 25 and is spaced apart from the first outer peripheral surface 27 . Accordingly, the end cap 16 includes a shoulder 28 formed between the first and second sections 25, 26 of the side wall 22 of the end cap 16. The shoulder 28 is configured to contact the first end 12 of the outer body 11.
The second side wall 26 is configured to extend inside the outer body 11 of the housing 10. The second section 26 of the side wall 22 includes a second outer peripheral surface 29. The second outer peripheral surface 29 may be configured to contact the inner surface of the outer body 11 to help seal and close the power receiving compartment 15.
그러나, 대안적인 실시예에서, 패널(18)은 예를 들어 열가소성 탄성중합체, 천연 고무, 니트릴 부타디엔 고무, 라텍스 또는 폴리우레탄으로 형성될 수 있다(그러나, 이에 제한되지 않음).In one embodiment, end caps 16 and panels 18 are formed by co-molding the components. In other embodiments, end caps 16 and panels 18 are over-molded. Preferably, the end caps 16 and panels 18 are formed from different materials. In this embodiment, panel 18 is formed from a silicon-based material. However, in alternative embodiments, panel 18 may be formed of, but is not limited to, thermoplastic elastomer, natural rubber, nitrile butadiene rubber, latex, or polyurethane, for example.
Referring back to FIG. 2 , panel 18 includes a first portion 31 having a first end 32 and a second portion 33 having a second end 34 . The first portion 31 of the panel 18 includes the portion of the panel 18 that is closer to the first end 32 of the panel 18 than the second end 34 of the panel 18. The second portion 33 of the panel 18 includes the portion of the panel 18 that is closer to the second end 34 of the panel 18 than the first end 32 of the panel 18 . Moreover, in the context of the present invention, the terms “first end” and “second end” mean the area proximal to the extremities of the panel 18 .
In this embodiment, the first end 33 of panel 18 and the second end 34 of panel 18 are longitudinally spaced apart. That is, panel 18 includes a longitudinal axis A', which extends between first and second ends 33, 34 of panel 18. In some embodiments, the first and second ends 33, 34 of the panel 18 are spaced apart from each other in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the outer body 11. In some embodiments, longitudinal axis A' of panel 18 extends parallel to longitudinal axis A of outer body 11.
In this embodiment, the first end 32 of the panel 18 is located closer to the first end 12 of the outer body 11 than the second end 34 of the panel 18. Accordingly, it will be appreciated that the second end 34 of the panel 18 is located closer to the second end 13 of the outer body 11 than the first end 32 of the panel 18.
Preferably, the first end 32 of the panel 18 is located adjacent the end cap 16 at the first end 12 of the outer body 11 of the housing 10. For example, in one embodiment, such as that shown in Figure 3, first end 32 of panel 18 abuts end cap 16. However, in some embodiments, a portion of outer body 11 may extend between first end 32 and end cap 16 of panel 18.
Referring now to Figure 5, a perspective view of panel 18 is shown. The panel includes a main body 35. One end of the main body 35 of the panel 18 forms the first end 32 of the panel 18 and the opposite end of the main body 35 forms the second end 34 of the panel 18. do. The main body 35 includes an interior surface 36 facing the power receiving compartment 15 when the panel 18 is in its first position. Main body 35 also includes an outer surface 37 that faces away from power receiving compartment 15 when panel 18 is in its first position. In some embodiments, the outer surface 37 of the main body 35 may be flush with the outer body 11 of the housing 10.
The inner outer surfaces 36, 37 of the body 35 are spaced apart by side walls. In this embodiment, the two opposing side walls 41, 42 extend substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis A' of the panel 18, and the first and second ends 32, 34 of the panel. ) extend substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A' of the panel 18. As shown in Figure 4, the corners of panel 18 where the side walls meet at the second end 34 of panel 18 may be rounded.
The first portion 31 of the panel 18 includes a first attachment element 46 . The first attachment element 46 is configured to attach the first end 32 of the panel 18 to the housing 10 . The second portion 33 of the panel 18 includes a second attachment element 47 . The second attachment element 47 is configured to attach the second end 34 of the panel 18 to the housing 10 .
In these embodiments, the attachment elements 46, 47 are configured so that the first attachment element 46 separates the first end 32 of the panel 18 from the housing 10. ) is configured to require a smaller force than That is, the first attachment element 46 moves closer to the aperture 17 than the force that must be applied to the second attachment element 47 to remove the second end 34 of the panel 18 from the aperture 17. Less force is required to remove the first end 32 of the panel 18 from.
The first attachment element 46 is in its first position in the aperture 17 - in the first position, the power receiving compartment 15 is fluidically isolated from the atmosphere - in its second position, The power receiving compartment 15 is in fluid communication with the atmosphere - requiring less force to remove the first end 32 of the panel 18 in the second position. ) is at least partially removed from the aperture 17.
Accordingly, when the internal pressure of the power receiving compartment exceeds a predefined threshold, the first attachment element 46 is overcome before the second attachment element 47. As the first end 32 of the panel 18 is removed from the aperture 17 before the second end 34 of the panel 18, the panel 18 has a predefined internal pressure in the power receiving compartment. When the threshold value is exceeded, the hinge is configured to open about the second end 18 of the panel.
As a result, the first end 32 of the panel 18 has an aperture ( 17) is always removed. This provides the advantage that any gases exhausting from the power receiving compartment 15 through the aperture 17 are directed away from the second end 13 of the housing 10 and thus away from the user.
In this embodiment, first end 32 of panel 18 is releasably attached to housing 10. Accordingly, the first attachment element 46 can be completely separated from the housing 10 . First attachment element 46 may be releasably attached to housing 10 to maximize the amount of first portion 31 of panel 18 that can be removed from aperture 17 .
It will be appreciated that in alternative embodiments, first attachment element 46 may only be partially removable from housing 10 . That is, the first attachment element 46 can be moved to a second position where it is at least partially removed from the aperture 17 to fluidly communicate the power receiving compartment 15 with the atmosphere, but One end 32 may still be attached to the housing 10 to limit the distance.
In this embodiment, the second end 34 of the panel 18 is fixedly attached to the housing 10. Accordingly, the second attachment element 47 may remain coupled to the housing 10 when the panel 18 is in both the first and second positions. Slot 56 includes an inner section 61 and an outer section 62. The inner section 61 of the slot 56 is wider than the outer section 62 of the slot 56 . The outer section 62 of the slot 56 is formed by a first gap 63 between the first edge 64 and the second edge 65 . The size of the first gap 63 is substantially the same from the open end 57 to the closed end 58 of the slot 56 . The inner section 61 of the slot 56 is formed by a second gap 66 between the third edge 67 and the fourth edge 68 . The size of the second gap 66 is substantially the same from the open end 57 to the closed end 58 .
The first gap 63 is smaller than the second gap 66. The shoulder 69 provides a second attachment element ( 47) is configured to provide a surface for contact.
Referring back to Figure 5, in this embodiment, first attachment element 46 is a sealing portion. That is, the first attachment element 46 is configured to sealingly close the hole 54 in the panel receiving portion 53 of the inner support 51, as shown in FIG. 7 . The first attachment element 46 includes a plug portion 71 . The plug portion 71 extends from the inner surface 36 of the first portion 31 of the panel 18 . The plug portion 71 is configured to be located in the hole 54 of the housing 10. The plug portion 71 is configured to fluidically seal the hole 54. In some embodiments, the plug portion 71 seals the hole 54 and seals the power receiving compartment 15 from the aperture 17 of the side wall 14 of the outer body 11 of the housing 10. Isolate the enemy.
Moreover, the plug portion 71 may include a protrusion 72 . The protrusion 72 is configured to ensure an interference fit of the plug portion 71 when placed in the hole 54 of the housing 10, as shown in FIG. 7 . In this embodiment, the plug portion 71 is generally cuboidal and the protrusion 72 is semicircular in shape. However, it will be appreciated that in alternative embodiments, the shapes of plug portion 71 and protrusion 72 and hole 54 may be different from those illustrated.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 5 , the first attachment element 46 includes a plurality of protrusions 72 extending from the plug portion 71 . For example, the plug portion has two protrusions 72 extending longitudinally from a first end 73 of the plug portion 71 and longitudinally extending from a second end 74 of the plug portion 71. It has two protrusions 72 that do. The first end 73 of the plug portion 71 is proximate the first end 32 of the panel 18.
Advantageously, the protrusion 72 extending from the first end 73 of the plug portion 71 is positioned in the hole 54 when the panel 18 is hinged about the second attachment element 47 . It must be compressed against the side wall (55). Accordingly, as the protrusions 72 increase the force required to move the panel 18 to the second position, the panel need only be held in the first position until a predefined threshold is exceeded. , panel 18 may be made of smaller and/or thinner and/or more flexible materials.
In this embodiment, the protrusion 76 of the second attachment element 46 includes a stalk portion 77 and an anchor portion 78. The stoke portion 77 extends from the inner surface 46 of the panel 18. Anchor portion 78 extends from an end of stoke portion 77 opposite the inner surface 36 of panel 18. The anchor portion 78 is wider than the stalk portion 77.
In this embodiment, the stalk portion 77 and anchor portion 78 are cylindrical in shape. Anchor portion 78 may have a radius that is greater than its length. Anchor portion 78 has a larger radius than stalk portion 77. The stalk portion 77 and anchor portion 78 may be coaxially aligned. The anchor portion 77 is configured such that its outer surface 79 contacts the shoulder 69 of the slot 56, as shown in FIG. 7 .
As shown in FIG. 5 , panel 18 may further include overlapping protrusions 81 . The overlapping protrusion 81 is configured to contact the inner surface of the outer body 11 of the housing 10, as shown in FIG. 6 . Overlapping protrusions 81 increase the force required to move panel 18 from its first position to its second position. Accordingly, as the overlapping protrusions 81 increase the force required to move the panel 18 to the second position, the panel 18 only needs to be held in the first position until a predefined threshold is exceeded. Because there is, panel 18 may be made of smaller and/or thinner and/or more flexible materials.
Referring back to FIG. 5 , overlapping protrusions 81 extend at least partially along the length of panel 18 from first end 32 of panel 18 . In this embodiment, the overlapping protrusions 81 extend substantially along the length of the first portion 31 of the panel 18. That is, the overlapping protrusion 81 extends from the first end 32 of the panel 18 towards the second end of the first attachment element 46 . Because the second attachment element 47 fixedly attaches the second end 34 of the panel 18 to the housing 10, the overlapping portion 81 extends the length of the second portion 33 of the panel 18. There is no need to extend it accordingly.
The overlapping portion 81 extends from the longitudinal side wall 43 of the main body 35 of the panel 18. The overlapping portion 81 includes an interior surface 82 extending in the same plane as the interior surface 36 of the main body 35 of the panel 18. The overlapping portion 81 further includes an outer surface 83 spaced apart from the outer surface 37 of the main body 35 such that the overlapping portion 81 is thinner than the main body 35 of the panel 18 .
In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 6 , overlapping portion 81 includes a chamfered outer edge 85 . The chamfered outer edge 85 is configured to abut the inner surface of the outer body 11 of the housing 10 . The chamfered outer edge 85 helps seal the aperture 17 in the side wall 14 of the outer body 11.
Referring to Figure 6, it can be seen that the overlapping portion 81 can be compressed between the inner support 51 and the inner surface of the outer body 11 of the housing 11 around the perimeter of the aperture 17. . Accordingly, when the overlapping portion 81 is held in compression, or pinched, between the inner support 51 and the outer body 11, it is necessary to move the panel 18 from the first position to the second position. Strength increases. Accordingly, for a given predefined threshold, the panel 18 in which the overlapping portion 81 remains compressed may be made smaller and/or thinner and/or of a more flexible material.
In this embodiment, panel 18 further includes an outer lip 87. The outer lip 67 is configured to overlap the outer surface of the outer body 11 of the housing 10 around the perimeter of the aperture 17 . The outer lip 87 helps fluidly seal the aperture 17 in the side wall 14 of the outer body 11. Additionally, the outer lip 87 helps prevent the panel 18 from being pressed against the inside of the housing 10 and allows the user to remove foreign objects from the panel 18 by pushing them into the power receiving compartment 15. Helps prevent tampering.
In one embodiment, panel 18 may include a support structure on its interior surface 36. The support structure may be, for example, but is not limited to a rib. The support structure is configured to provide rigidity to the panel 18 to resist deformation into the outer body 10 of the housing 11.
In some embodiments, panel 18 may be wider than illustrated and may form a skirt. That is, the panel 18 may extend continuously around at least 25% of the outer body 11 of the housing 10 in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
