Abstract

Description
본 발명은 분자량이 적어도 50,000 g/mol인 증점 중합체 제제 및 적어도 첨가제를 포함하는 신규한 전기변색(electrochromic) 용액에 관한 것이며, 광학 렌즈, 광학 필터, 감쇠기, 윈도우, 바이저, 고글, 거울 및 디스플레이와 같은 광학 물품의 제조를 위한 가변 투과 매질로서의 이러한 용액의 용도에 관한 것이다.
전기변색성(electrochromism)은 전압이 인가될 때 색이 가역적으로 변하는 특정 부류의 화합물에서 관찰되는 잘 알려진 물리적 현상이다. 이 재료는 산화와 환원에 의해 광학적 특성의 가역적 변화를 겪는다. 화합물의 이러한 산화환원 반응은 장치에 "자가-소거"(self-erasing) 기능을 제공한다. 보통, 전기변색 재료는 전기장이 인가되지 않은 때에는 무색이고, 전기장이 인가된 때에는 착색될 수 있다. 전기변색 장치, 즉 단지 전기장의 존재에 의해서만 흡광도가 달라지는 전기변색 화합물을 포함하는 장치는 두 가지 상태, 즉 착색된 상태(전기적으로 활성화된 때) 및 탈색된 상태(비활성 상태)를 가질 수 있다. 장치의 광학 투과 특성은 전기변색 화합물에 따라 좌우된다.
전기변색 시스템은 다양한 응용 분야에 적용될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 안과 분야에서, UV 방사선 아래에서 수동적으로 어두워지고 또한 UV 방사선이 멈췄을 때 다시 탈색되는 데에 약간의 시간이 필요한 광변색 렌즈와 대조적으로, 전기변색 렌즈는 눈 보호를 제공하기 위해 사용자가 일부 조명 조건 하에서 렌즈의 어두워짐을 능동적으로 제어할 수 있게 하고 이러한 조건이 변할 때 사용자가 빠르게 바꿀 수 있게 한다. 더욱이, 광변색 염료는 보통 안과용 기재(substrate)에 적합하지 않은 침염(imbibition)(또는 함침) 공정에 의해 안과용 렌즈에 혼입된다. 전기변색 유리는 "스마트 윈도우" 또는 리어뷰 미러의 제조에도 사용되어 왔다. 보통, 모든 이러한 전기변색 장치는 전기변색 화합물 외에 용매를 포함하는 전기변색 조성물로부터 제조된다. 이것은 전기변색 용액으로 지칭된다.
전기변색 자가-소거 용액의 경우에, 관리해야 할 두 가지 문제가 있다: 착색 분리(coloration segregation) 및 전류 누설.
착색 분리 문제는 장기간 동안의 전기변색 시스템의 연속 작동으로 인해 발생한다. 장기간 작동 또는 착색 후에 전기 에너지를 제거하여 처음 탈색시킬 때, 장치의 탈색은 종종 균일하지 않다. 이 문제는 전기변색 시스템 내에 존재하는 투명한 전기 요소 근처에서 느리게 소멸되는 분리된 착색 밴드의 형태로 시각적으로 감지된다. 따라서 분리는 상기 전기 요소에 인접하게 남아 있는 착색 화학종의 이동 및 대류로 인한 것이다. 사용자가 전기변색 시스템을 포함하는 장치로부터 수집한 시각적 정보의 정의가 손상되기 때문에, 이러한 착색 밴드의 외관은 미적, 상업적 및 기능적 관점에서 허용불가능하다.
임의의 착색 화학종의 착색된 형태와 착색되지 않은 형태 사이의 용해도 차이가 또한 분리에 기여할 수 있다. 이러한 형태의 분리는, 자동차의 리어뷰 미러, 벽 거울, 건물 윈도우, 자동차 전면, 후방 및 측면 윈도우, 광학 렌즈, 안경 등에서 경험되는 것과 같이, 사용 중일 때 주 평면이 수평이 아닌 전기변색 장치에서 특히 두드러진다. 착색된 형태에서, 착색 화학종 중 어느 하나 또는 둘 모두는 그의 용해도에 따라 전기변색 용액을 완전히 또는 부분적으로 상 분리할 수 있고 호스트 용매의 밀도에 대비한 그의 밀도에 따라 부유하거나 가라앉을 수 있다.
전기변색 자가-소거 장치에서 직면하게 되는 또 다른 문제는 전류 누설과 관련이 있다. 전압의 인가에 의해 전기변색 셀이 착색될 때, 산화환원 쌍의 착색된 화학종은 계속 재조합하여 무색 상태인 그의 평형 상태로 되돌아가는 경향이 있다. 용액의 벌크 내에서 착색된 화학종의 재조합 속도는 사용된 용매에서의 그의 확산 계수와 관련이 있다. 착색된 화학종이 재조합하여 무색 평형 상태로 되는 경향을 보상하기 위해, 전형적으로 상기 용액을 샌드위치하는 전도성 전극들을 통해 전류가 전기변색 용액 내로 지속적으로 누설되어야 한다.
전류는 전기변색 셀을 샌드위치하는 기재들 중 적어도 하나에 사용되는 투명 전기 요소의 전도성 표면을 가로질러 흘러야 하기 때문에, 그리고 이러한 투명 전기 요소는 유한한 시트 저항을 갖기 때문에, 전류가 전도성 유리 표면을 가로질러 통과하여 원격 영역을 착색할 때, 인가된 전위는 전형적으로 셀의 에지 주변에 위치한 커넥터에 인접하여 가장 높고 장치의 중심 근처에서 가장 낮을 것이다.
따라서 누설 전류가 높으면, 투명 도체 자체를 가로질러 발생하는 전위 강하로 인해 원격 영역에 더 낮은 전위가 인가된다. 따라서 착색이 균일하지 않다. 전기 요소에 가장 가까운 에지 영역은 가장 진한 색을 띠고 중심 영역은 가장 밝은 색을 띤다. 이러한 착색 구배는 허용가능하지 않으므로 용액 전체에 걸쳐 진한 착색이 균일하도록 보장해야 할 필요가 있다.
게다가, 누설 전류가 가능한 한 낮아야 전류 소비도 가능한 한 낮아진다. 전기변색 시스템을 공급하기 위해 장치에 사용되는 배터리의 크기가 작기 때문에 낮은 전류 소비가 매우 중요하다. 안과용 렌즈의 경우, 이러한 배터리는 미용 및 인체공학적 고려 사항 둘 모두에서 가능한 한 작아야 한다.
그러나, 낮은 누설 전류는 탈색 속도에 영향을 미친다. 탈색 속도는 전기변색 장치가 전체 또는 부분 착색된 상태로부터 실질적으로 투명한 무색 상태로 되돌아가는 데 걸리는 시간이다. 누설 전류를 낮추면 그에 따라 탈색 속도가 느려지며 이는 상업적인 관점에서도 허용불가능하다.
전술한 상업적으로 요구되는 장치를 달성하기 위해, 착색 깊이, 착색 균일성 및 비교적 빠른 탈색 속도 사이의 균형을 맞출 필요가 있다.
폴리메틸메타크릴레이트(PMMA)와 같은 증점제를 오직 하나만 첨가하면 전기변색 용액의 점도를 증가시키고 분리를 줄이는 데 도움이 된다는 점에서 효과적일 수 있지만, 이러한 제제는 누설 전류를 낮추는 동시에 탈색 속도를 감소시키기 때문에 불리한 것으로 알려져 있다. 증점제를 하나만 첨가할 때의 한 가지 문제는 전기변색 장치를 제조하는 공정이 산업적으로 실현불가능하게 될 정도로 용액의 점성이 높아질 수 있다는 점이다.
문헌 US5145609호는 프로필렌 카르보네이트 용매 중에 폴리에테르 중합체를 함유하는 전기변색 용액을 기술한다. 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트(PMMA) 대신 폴리에틸렌 옥사이드(PEO)와 같은 선형 폴리에테르 중합체를 첨가하면, 누설 전류의 제한된 감소 및 이에 따른 탈색 속도의 제한된 증가로 분리 효과가 제거될 수 있다. 그러나, 이들 중합체 중 어느 것도 프로필렌 카르보네이트 용매 중에서 만족스러운 용해도를 나타내지 않는다. 저분자량 PEO는 프로필렌 카르보네이트 중에 용해되지 않는 한편, PMMA는 용해될 수는 있으나 실온에서 가용화가 오래 걸리므로 둘 모두 매력적이지 않다.
문헌 US5142407호는 프로필렌 카르보네이트 용매 중에 시아노에틸수크로스를 함유하는 전기변색 용액을 기술한다. 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트를 프로필렌카르보네이트 중의 용해도가 더 높은 시아노에틸수크로스로 대체함으로써, 착색 균일도가 개선되고, 분리가 감소하며, 누설 전류가 제한적으로 감소한다. 그러나, 이 문헌에 따라 얻어지는 전기변색 용액의 점도는 일반적으로 100 센티스토크(cSt) 미만 (25℃에서 측정됨)이며, 이러한 값은 너무 낮아서 분리 효과를 완전히 피할 수 없다. 게다가, 시아노에틸수크로스는 황색 액체이므로 투명 물품 생산에는 적합하지 않다.
따라서 고품질 물품, 특히 고품질 안과용 렌즈를 형성하기 위한 투명 균질 매질로서 사용하기 위해 개선된 전기변색 용액을 얻을 필요가 있으며, 상기 용액은 한편으로는 낮은 분리 효과를 나타낼 뿐만 아니라 다른 한편으로는 용액의 벌크 내에서 착색된 화학종의 낮은 재조합으로부터 얻어지는 다소 높은 탈색 속도 및 낮은 누설 전류를 나타내고, 이러한 용액은 충분히 점성이며, 바람직하게는 25℃에서 3000 cP 미만의 점도를 나타내어, 얻어지는 용액은 전기변색 장치의 제조에 적합하게 된다.
광범위한 연구를 마친 후, 제1 양태에 따르면, 본 발명자들은 다음을 포함하는 전기변색 용액을 제공한다:
- 용매;
- 분자량이 적어도 50,000 g/mol, 바람직하게는 적어도 200,000 g/mol, 더 바람직하게는 적어도 250,000 g/mol인 증점 중합체 제제;
- 분자량이 300 내지 50,000 g/mol, 바람직하게는 320 내지 20,000 g/mol인 적어도 첨가제 (바람직하게는 상기 첨가제는 액체 상태임);
- 상기 용매 중 용액 상태의 산화환원 화학 혼합물 (상기 혼합물은 적어도 하나의 전기변색 환원 화합물 및 적어도 하나의 전기변색 산화 화합물로 구성되며, 인가된 전압의 존재 시 착색되고 인가된 전압의 부재 시 무색 상태로 탈색됨).
전기변색 용액 내에서 적어도 추가적인 첨가제와 함께 이러한 증점제를 동시에 사용하면 25℃에서 점도를 3000 cP 미만으로 유지하면서 분리 효과를 감소시키는 데 도움이 된다.
고분자량 화합물 (즉 증점 중합체 제제)의 사용은 상 분리 문제를 피하는 데 도움이 되는 한편, 저분자량 화합물 (즉 첨가제)의 사용은 전류 소비 문제를 관리하는 데 도움이 된다.
본 발명에 따른 전기변색 용액에 사용되는 용매는 에틸렌 카르보네이트, 프로필렌 카르보네이트, γ-부티로락톤, γ-발레로락톤, 아세트로니트릴, 프로피오니트릴, 벤조니트릴, 글루타로니트릴, 메틸글루타로니트릴, 디메틸포름아미드, N-메틸피롤리돈, 술포란, 3-메틸 술포란, 메틸 프로피오네이트, 에틸렌 글리콜, 에틸렌 카르보네이트, 프로필렌 글리콜 디아세테이트, 프로필렌 글리콜 메틸 에테르 아세테이트, 이온성 액체, 및 이들의 혼합물로부터 선택되지만 이로 한정되지 않는 불활성 용매이다. 바람직하게는 용매는 프로필렌 카르보네이트이다.
본 발명은 특히, 증점 중합체 제제가 전기화학적으로 불활성이고 사용되는 용매에 가용성인, 전기변색 용액에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 유용한 증점 중합체 제제는 분자량이 적어도 50,000 g/mol, 바람직하게는 적어도 200,000 g/mol, 더 바람직하게는 적어도 250,000 g/mol이고 최대 1,000,000 g/mol, 바람직하게는 최대 800,000 g/mol, 더 바람직하게는 최대 650,000 g/mol이다.
바람직하게는, 증점 중합체 제제는 비닐 아세테이트 중합체이며, 상기 비닐 아세테이트 중합체는 분자량이 적어도 50,000 g/mol, 바람직하게는 적어도 200,000 g/mol, 더 바람직하게는 적어도 250,000 g/mol, 바람직하게는 적어도 300,000 g/mol, 더 바람직하게는 적어도 350,000 g/mol, 더욱 더 바람직하게는 적어도 400,000 g/mol이고 최대 1,000,000 g/mol, 바람직하게는 최대 800,000 g/mol, 더 바람직하게는 최대 650,000 g/mol이다.
더 바람직하게는, 용매는 프로필렌 카르보네이트이고 증점 중합체 제제는 분자량이 적어도 200,000 g/mol, 바람직하게는 적어도 250,000 g/mol인 비닐 아세테이트 중합체이다.
본 발명에 유용한 증점 중합체의 한 가지 바람직한 예는 크기 배제 크로마토그래피에 의해 측정되는 분자량이 540,000 g/mol인, Wacker에 의해 명칭 Vinnapas UW25FS로 판매되는 비닐 아세테이트 중합체 (PVAC 또는 폴리비닐 아세테이트)이다.
전기변색 용액은 벤조산의 에스테르 유도체 또는 프탈산의 에스테르 유도체 또는 이들의 혼합물로부터 선택되는 첨가제를 추가로 포함한다.
증점 중합체 제제의 경우에서와 같이, 첨가제는 또한 사용되는 용매에 가용성이어야 하며 전기화학적으로 불활성이어야 하고, 바람직하게는 2V 초과의 전기화학 윈도우를 갖는다.
첨가제의 분자량은 300 내지 50,000 g/mol이다. 바람직하게는 그의 분자량은 400 g/mol 초과이다. 분자량이 300 g/mol 초과인 첨가제가 누설 전류를 감소시키는 데 효율적인 것으로 관찰되었다.
바람직하게는 그의 분자량은 20,000 g/mol 미만, 18,000 g/mol 미만, 더욱 더 바람직하게는 15,000 g/mol 미만 또는 더욱 더 10,000 g/mol 미만이다.

첨가제의 함량은 전기변색 용액의 총 중량에 대해 5 내지 60 중량%, 바람직하게는 10 내지 30 중량%, 더 바람직하게는 15 내지 25 중량%이다.
증점 중합체 제제의 함량은 전기변색 용액의 총 중량에 대해 1 내지 30 중량%, 바람직하게는 3 내지 20 중량%, 더 바람직하게는 5 내지 15 중량%이다.
상기 전기변색 용액의 점도는 25℃에서 3000 cP 이하, 바람직하게는 25℃에서 2500 cP, 더욱 더 바람직하게는 25℃에서 2000 cP 미만이다. 점도가 너무 높으면 최종 장치 내의 전기변색 용액의 충전 공정이 길어지기 때문에 바람직하지 않으며, 이는 산업적 관점에서 바람직하지 않다.

상기 충전 공정의 길이에 영향을 미치는 또 다른 요인은 전기변색 용액의 융점이다. 긴 충전 공정을 피하기 위해, 용액의 융점은 -20℃미만으로 유지되어야 한다.

실시예
본 발명은, 예시 목적으로만 제공되고 첨부된 청구범위를 제한하지 않는 다음의 비제한적 실시예에 의해 추가로 예시될 것이다.
누설 전류/탈색 속도 및 점도 모두에 대한 두 가지 유형의 화합물, 즉 증점 중합체 제제 및 첨가제의 조합의 효과를 입증하기 위해 4가지 상이한 전기변색 용액으로 4가지 전기변색 샘플을 제조하였다.
프로필렌 카르보네이트 (98.96 중량%) 중에 다음을 용해시켜 용액 1을 제조하였다:
- 전기변색 환원 화합물 10-메틸페노티아진 (0.35 중량%),
- 전기변색 산화 화합물 에틸 비올로겐 디퍼클로레이트 (0.69 중량%).
프로필렌 카르보네이트 (90.96 중량%) 중에 다음을 용해시켜 용액 2를 제조하였다:
- 전기변색 환원 화합물 10-메틸페노티아진 (0.35 중량%),
- 전기변색 산화 화합물 에틸 비올로겐 디퍼클로레이트 (0.69 중량%),
- 증점 중합체 제제 PVAC (8 중량%).
프로필렌 카르보네이트 (86.96 중량%) 중에 다음을 용해시켜 용액 3을 제조하였다:
- 전기변색 환원 화합물 10-메틸페노티아진 (0.35 중량%),

- 증점 중합체 제제 PVAC (12 중량%).
프로필렌 카르보네이트 (70.96 중량%) 중에 다음을 용해시켜 용액 4를 제조하였다:
- 전기변색 환원 화합물 10-메틸페노티아진 (0.35 중량%),
- 전기변색 산화 화합물 에틸 비올로겐 디퍼클로레이트 (0.69 중량%),
- 증점 중합체 제제 PVAC (8 중량%),
- 첨가제 폴리에틸렌 글리콜 디벤조에이트 (PEGDB) (액체 형태) (20 중량%).
프로필렌 카르보네이트, 에틸 비올로겐 디퍼클로레이트, 10-메틸페노티아진은 Sigma Aldrich에 의해 판매된다.
사용된 PVAC는 Wacker에 의해 명칭 Vinnapas UW25FS로 판매된다. 이것은 SEC, PS-Standard에 의해 측정된 분자량이 540,000 g/mol이다.
사용된 PEGDB는 분자량이 410 g/mol이고 비점이 217℃인, Sigma Aldrich에 의해 판매되는 폴리(에틸렌 글리콜) 디벤조에이트이다.
실온 및 대기압에서 탱크를 전술한 바와 같은 전기변색 용액 1 내지 4로 충전하였다. 이어서 개구부가 용액 레벨 위에 위치하도록 하는 방식으로 셀을 대기압 하에서 탱크 내에 수직으로 배치하였다. 이 셀은 서로 대향하는 2개의 광물 유리 기재를 포함하였으며, 그 내부 면은 인듐 주석 산화물 (ITO)로 제조된 투명한 전도성 전극으로 코팅되었다. 갭을 형성하기 위해 150 μm의 스페이서를 사용하여 기재들을 서로 고정된 거리로 유지하였다. 셀의 에지를 5 mm의 개구부가 남도록 하는 방식으로 UV 경화성 접착제로 밀봉하였다.
셀이 있는 탱크를 진공 데시케이터에 넣고 0.5 mBar로 진공화하였다. 불활성 가스의 도입 하에 탱크의 폭기 동안, 전기변색 제형이 개구부를 통해 갭의 전체 부피를 충전하였다. 이어서 개구부를 UV 경화성 접착제로 밀봉하여 셀을 기밀 상태로 만들었다. 2개의 은도금 구리 와이어에 의해 전기 접속부를 만들고, 은 충전된 에폭시 접착제로 각각의 ITO 유리 기재 상에 밀봉하였다.
전형적으로 1분 후에 전류가 안정화될 때, 일반 전류계로 전류 소비를 측정한다.
Brookfield 점도계를 사용하여 점도를 측정한다.
샘플을 분광광도계에 넣고, 탈색 속도는 활성화 하에 더 높은 시각적 투과율(Tv= 85%) 값으로부터 10%의 투과율(Tv)에 도달할 때까지 측정된 시간이다. 10%의 투과율에 도달하기 위해 인가되는 전압은 1.2 V이다.
전류 소비, 탈색 속도 및 점도에 관한 결과가 표 1에 제공되어 있다.

용매 및 전기변색 화합물 (메틸페노티아진 및 에틸 비올로겐 디퍼클로레이트)만 함유하는 용액 1은 높은 전류 소비를 나타낸다. 1시간 후에 분리 효과를 볼 수 있다.
8 중량% 및 12 중량%의 PVAC를 용액 2 및 3에 첨가한다. 따라서 특히 PVAC가 12 중량%로 첨가될 때 누설 전류가 감소하고 점도가 증가하는 것으로 관찰된다. 후자의 경우 2500 cP의 점도는 매우 높은 값으로 간주된다. 이 두 경우 모두, 분리 효과가 제거되고 전류가 감소한다.
용액 4에서, 8 중량%의 PVAC 및 20 중량%의 액체 PEGDB를 첨가함으로써, 분리가 제거되고; 용액 3을 사용한 샘플과 비교하여 점도가 적당히 증가함에 따라 전류 소비가 크게 감소된다. PEGDB를 첨가하면 25℃에서 측정된 점도가 420 cP에서 1000 cP로 증가하며;
따라서, 본 발명의 용액 4는 증점 중합체 제제 및 첨가제의 사용으로부터 얻어지는 상승 효과로 인해 누설 전류/탈색 속도 및 점도 사이에 양호한 균형을 이룬다.
Claims (15)
- - 용매;
- 분자량이 적어도 50,000인 증점 중합체 제제;
- 분자량이 300 내지 50,000 g/mol인 적어도 첨가제;
- 상기 용매 중 용액 상태의 산화환원 화학 혼합물 (상기 혼합물은 적어도 하나의 전기변색 환원 화합물 및 적어도 하나의 전기변색 산화 화합물로 구성되며, 인가된 전압의 존재 시 착색되고 인가된 전압의 부재 시 무색 상태로 탈색됨)을 포함하는, 전기변색 용액. - 제1항에 있어서, 용매는 에틸렌 카르보네이트, 프로필렌 카르보네이트, γ-부티로락톤, γ-발레로락톤, 아세트로니트릴, 프로피오니트릴, 벤조니트릴, 글루타로니트릴, 메틸글루타로니트릴, 디메틸포름아미드, N-메틸피롤리돈, 술포란, 3-메틸 술포란, 메틸 프로피오네이트, 에틸렌 글리콜, 에틸렌 카르보네이트, 프로필렌 글리콜 디아세테이트, 프로필렌 글리콜 메틸 에테르 아세테이트, 이온성 액체, 및 이들의 혼합물로부터 선택되고, 바람직하게는 용매는 프로필렌 카르보네이트인, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 증점 중합체 제제는 비닐 아세테이트 중합체인, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 첨가제는 벤조산의 에스테르 유도체 또는 프탈산의 에스테르 유도체 또는 이들의 혼합물로부터 선택되는, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 첨가제는 화학식 I 또는 II의 벤조산의 에스테르 유도체로부터 선택되는, 전기변색 용액:

여기서, R1 및 R2는 유사하거나 상이하며 H, 선택적으로 치환된 알킬 (예컨대 선택적으로 치환된 아릴알킬), 선택적으로 치환된 아릴, 및 선택적으로 치환된 시클로알킬로부터 선택되고,
n은 1 내지 10, 바람직하게는 1 내지 7의 범위의 정수이고,
m은 1 내지 10, 바람직하게는 1 내지 7의 범위의 정수이고;
바람직하게는, 첨가제는 폴리프로필렌 글리콜 디벤조에이트 (PPGDB), 예컨대 디프로필렌 글리콜 디벤조에이트 (DPGDB) 및 트리프로필렌 글리콜 디벤조에이트 (TPGDB), 폴리에틸렌 글리콜 디벤조에이트 (PEGDB), 예컨대 디에틸렌 글리콜 디벤조에이트 (DEGDB) 및 트리에틸렌 글리콜 디벤조에이트 (TEGDB) 및 이들의 혼합물로 이루어진 벤조산의 에스테르 유도체의 목록으로부터 선택되는, 전기변색 용액. - 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 첨가제는 비스 (2-에틸헥실 프탈레이트) (DEHP), 디이소노닐 프탈레이트 (DINP), 디옥틸 프탈레이트 (DNOP), 디이소데실 프탈레이트 (DIDP), 디프로필헵틸 프탈레이트 (DPHP), 디-2-에틸헥실 테레프탈레이트 (DOTP 또는 DEHT) 및 이들의 혼합물로 이루어진 프탈산의 에스테르 유도체의 목록으로부터 선택되는, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 첨가제는 폴리에틸렌 글리콜 디아크릴레이트 (또는 메타크릴레이트), 폴리에틸렌 글리콜 디에폭시, 폴리프로필렌 글리콜 디아크릴레이트 (또는 메타크릴레이트), 폴리프로필렌 글리콜 디에폭시 및 이들의 혼합물과 같은 글리콜 유도체의 목록으로부터 선택되는, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 첨가제는 폴리(메틸 메타크릴레이트) (PMMA), 폴리비닐 아세테이트 (PVA), 폴리비닐 부티랄 (PVB), 셀룰로오스 아세테이트 부티레이트 (CAB) 및 이들의 혼합물과 같은 저분자량 중합체의 목록으로부터 선택되는, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 전기변색 용액은 독립적으로 벤조산의 에스테르 유도체, 프탈산의 에스테르 유도체, 글리콜 유도체 및 저분자량 중합체로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 적어도 2종의 첨가제를 포함하는, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 내지 제9항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 첨가제의 함량은 전기변색 용액의 총 중량에 대하여 5 내지 60 중량%, 바람직하게는 10 내지 30 중량%, 더 바람직하게는 15 내지 25 중량%이고, 증점 중합체 제제의 함량은 전기변색 용액의 총 중량에 대하여 1 내지 30 중량%, 바람직하게는 3 내지 20 중량%, 더 바람직하게는 5 내지 15 중량%인, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 내지 제10항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 증점 중합체 제제는 전기변색 용액의 총 중량에 대해 5 내지 15 중량%로 존재하는 비닐 아세테이트 중합체이고 첨가제는 전기변색 용액의 총 중량에 대해 15 내지 25 중량%로 존재하는 폴리프로필렌 글리콜 디벤조에이트 또는 폴리에틸렌 글리콜 디벤조에이트인, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 내지 제11항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 적어도 하나의 전기변색 환원 화합물은 페로센 및 이의 유도체, 예컨대 에틸 페로센, t-부틸 페로센, 페녹사진 및 이의 유도체, 예컨대 N-벤질페녹사진, 페나진 및 이의 유도체, 예컨대 5,10-디히드로페나진, N,N,N',N'-테트라메틸-p-페닐렌디아민, 페노티아진 및 이의 유도체, 예컨대 10-메틸페노티아진 및 이소프로필페노티아진; 티오안트렌; 및 테트라티아풀발렌으로부터 선택되는, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 내지 제12항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 적어도 하나의 전기변색 산화 화합물은 알킬비올로겐, 아릴비올로겐, 아릴알킬비올로겐, 알킬아릴비올로겐, 또는 안트라퀴논 및 이들의 유도체로부터 선택되는, 전기변색 용액.
- 제1항 내지 제13항 중 어느 한 항에 정의된 바와 같은 용액을 포함하는 전기변색 장치.
