Abstract

The present invention relates to an image recording device having a reservation recording function. In particular, reservation recording is possible according to a mode selected by a user among a manual mode, automatic switching mode, tape compensation mode, and tape start mode. When the remaining amount of tape is sensed by a tape remaining amount sensing unit during recording, it compensates for insufficient amount of tape under control of the recognizing control unit and performs scheduled recording. Therefore, a video recording/reproducing device and method equipped with artificial intelligence that records all desired programs on a single tape while preventing image quality from being deteriorated during reproduction are provided. The device comprises: a tape remaining amount sensing means; a subtitle means; a control unit; and a driving means.
