The present disclosure relates generally to a cosmetic applicator for applying a product comprising a cosmetic, care or pharmaceutical to a keratin matrix such as the skin, lips, under the eyes, eyebrows, eyelids, cheeks, nails or any other part of the body. . In particular, the present disclosure relates to an applicator for cosmetics that provides a container for holding a cosmetic product, an applicator head comprising a surface for distributing the product to a keratinous surface, and a mechanism for transferring the product from the container to the surface.
There is a device for dispensing cosmetic or pharmaceutical products. Such devices generally consist of a container for carrying the cosmetic or medicinal product, a delivery mechanism for displacing the cosmetic or medicinal product, and an applicator. For example, in the medical industry, applicators are used to apply medicines, such as ointments, to body parts. In the cosmetic and personal care industry, applicators are used to apply lipsticks, lip balms, skin creams, lotions, and other cosmetic products to body parts.
Many cosmetic products that are flowable or otherwise non-generating in shape are packaged and sold in containers in which the cosmetic is delivered and applied to the user's skin by a cosmetic applicator.
Generally, a cosmetic applicator is provided at the end of a stem carried by a cap that rests on the mouth or opening of the container and closes it, and the cosmetic applicator is immersed in the cosmetic material contained in the container when the cap is in the container closed position. The cap serves as a handle for the user when the cosmetic applicator with a certain amount of cosmetic is taken out of the container and applied to the skin.
In some cases, a flexible elastomeric wiper is mounted to the container opening to engage the cosmetic applicator as the cosmetic applicator is withdrawn through the opening to remove excess cosmetic product that may be carried by the cosmetic applicator from the body of the cosmetic within the container. .
The applicator may be immersed in the container containing the cosmetic material and then removed from the bottle to apply the product to the user's skin. Such an applicator can hold the cosmetic product by adhesion to the applicator surface. This limits the amount of product that can be delivered each time the applicator is removed from the bottle after immersion. It may be necessary to immerse the applicator several times in succession to deliver a sufficient amount of product to perform the entire application process. Accordingly, many prior art cosmetic applicators do not provide a location or area capable of holding a higher dose of cosmetic material in or on the applicator head. Due to the limited surface area and no location or area to hold a higher volume of cosmetic material, many prior art applicators result in fewer cosmetic applicator heads in containers for application processes such as covering lips with lip gloss cosmetics. cannot be inserted
Another conventional applicator includes an internally supplied applicator, in which case a quantity of cosmetic product is stored in a container in fluid communication with the applicator head. The product is transferred from the reservoir to the applicator head as application is performed. The product may be delivered, for example, by applying pressure to the reservoir to squeeze the product against the applicator head. In this way, it is possible to refill the applicator head without lowering the applicator and immersing it again in the cosmetic container. However, providing a reservoir in fluid communication with the applicator can add complexity and cost. Also, it can be difficult for the user to control the amount of product delivered to the applicator head. In addition, the amount of material held in the container in fluid communication with the applicator head may be limited by the dimensions of the applicator itself. Also, with known prior art applicators, only a small amount of product can be firmly held in the applicator head while the product is being applied to the skin. Also, known conventional applicators cannot provide a convenient surface for massaging the product onto the skin once applied.
Accordingly, there is still a need for a cosmetic package having an applicator that can apply a larger amount of product without re-immersing the applicator into the cosmetic container. There is also a need for a cosmetic applicator that can deliver a sufficient amount of cosmetic product to the skin of a user to treat a relatively large area and also provide a convenient surface for massaging the product onto the skin once applied.

More specifically, at least one of the third curve or the fourth curve extends to at least 30% of the length of the second longitudinal edge. The fifth curve extends to at least 10% of the length of the second longitudinal edge.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first application surface has a recess substantially surrounded by a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge except for a proximal end of the spatula. A gap exists between the first longitudinal edge and the second longitudinal edge near the proximal end of the spatula. The recess serves to maintain the cosmetics. When the cosmetic applicator is applied to the keratin matrix, the cosmetic present in the recess can be deposited and the surface of the cosmetic product in contact with the lips or any other part of the body can be relatively large, thus making the lips or any other part of the body. The region can be masked relatively quickly. The recess extends longitudinally from the proximal end to the distal end of the spatula.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the recess extends along a longitudinal axis that does not coincide with the longitudinal axis of the cosmetic applicator. More specifically, the recess is off-center with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cosmetic applicator and forms a non-zero angle with the longitudinal axis of the cosmetic applicator.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the recess opens outwardly over the entire length of the spatula through the first application surface for use in applying cosmetic products.
According to a preferred embodiment, the recess extends more than half the width of the spatula when viewed at any point along the longitudinal axis. In an alternative embodiment, the recess does not extend more than half the width of the spatula.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the width of the recess passes through the extreme between the proximal and distal ends of the spatula. For example, the extreme is the maximum. More specifically, when viewed from the front, the recess has its widest portion that gradually decreases in width from the widest portion to the proximal or distal end of the spatula.
According to a preferred embodiment, the recess may cross more than half the length of the spatula. In an alternative embodiment, the recess does not cross more than half the length of the spatula.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first longitudinal edge and the second longitudinal edge converge to form a narrow tip at the distal end of the spatula. The narrow tip aids in the accurate deposition of the cosmetic when applied to the user's skin or keratin matrix.
Also, according to one embodiment, the narrow tip does not coincide with the longitudinal axis of the cosmetic applicator. More specifically, the narrow tip is off-center with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cosmetic applicator.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, upon use of the cosmetic package, the user first separates the closure from the receptacle. To apply the product to a keratin matrix such as the skin, lips, eyelids, cheeks, nails, or any other part of the body, the cosmetic applicator may be immersed in the product in a receptacle and then applied by the applicator head.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, when the cosmetic applicator is taken out from the state immersed in the cosmetic, the cosmetic is picked up and held on the entire surface of the spatula.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the widest portion of the spatula has a greater width than the widest portion of the wiper orifice. Thus, when the cosmetic applicator is withdrawn from the receptacle, the widest part of the spatula is caught in the wiper orifice of the wiper. In this embodiment, since the spatula is made of an elastically deformable material, it is deformed at the widest portion caught by the wiper orifice so as to pass through the wiper orifice.
Since the first application surface of the spatula on which most of the cosmetics are held has a concave inner surface, the spatula is curled into a substantially C-shape in which the first longitudinal edge and the second longitudinal edge approach each other. Because the spatula is curled into a substantially C-shape, the cosmetic remains inside the C-shape while the spatula is in a deformed state. On the other hand, the second application surface has a convex outer surface and is wiped with a wiper. The second application surface acts as a blending surface for easy application of the cosmetic which is dislodged and applied by the first application surface of the spatula.
The wiper is made of an elastically deformable material, so that both the spatula and the wiper orifice are deformed to reduce resistance to withdrawal and insertion, further improving ease of use.
After the spatula passes through the wiper orifice, it is restored to its original shape without any force applied by the wiper orifice. Accordingly, as the original shape is restored, the cosmetic is spread over the entire area of the first application surface of the spatula. As a result, the spatula can apply the cosmetic uniformly to the lips or any other part of the body. At this time, almost no cosmetics remain on the second application surface of the spatula, so that the user can safely and quickly apply the cosmetics without worrying about unintentional application other than the target site.
The wiper wipes off excess cosmetics attached to the spatula as well as cosmetics attached to the stem.
According to a second embodiment of the present disclosure, a cosmetic applicator includes an application member including a support and a wing extending from the support, the wing being curved about a transverse axis Y. The support supports the wing at the base portion of the wing and at one lateral edge. The wing has a concave front surface and an opposing convex rear surface. Further, the wing is curved about a transverse axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X of the application member, that is, the wing is curved from left to right so that the wing forms a longitudinal recess in the concave front surface of the wing.
According to another aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a cosmetic package comprising a cosmetic applicator and a receptacle for holding the cosmetic product. The cosmetic applicator includes an applicator head, a stem, and a cap. The cap of the cosmetic applicator has a thread formed in the neck of the receptacle that can be threaded into the thread. an applicator head is held at the distal end of the stem to apply the product; A cap is retained at the proximal end of the stem.
In general, the use of the terms “distal” and “proximal” herein is assumed to mean that the distal side/end is the inside-facing side/end of the storage receptacle, whereas the proximal side/end refers to the removal opening of the receptacle. It means facing side or end.
The distal end of the stem also includes an internal longitudinal cavity for receiving and holding the applicator head. Also, a wiper is inserted into the neck of the receptacle to wipe off excess cosmetics from the cosmetic applicator.
Also, the applicator head of a cosmetic applicator may be used to apply a product, including a cosmetic or care product. Cosmetics or care products include viscous cosmetics, mascara, eyebrow powder, lip gloss, hair color, skin care, under-eye cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and similar products.
The applicator head includes an application member at its distal portion and a shank member at its proximal portion. The shank member is configured to be received and retained within the interior longitudinal cavity of the stem.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the support extends in the longitudinal axis of the stem in the direction of the wing. The wing extends laterally from the support such that the support supports the wing laterally at both sides of the wing and at the base of the wing.
According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the convex back surface of the wing provides a large blending surface for smooth and efficient application of cosmetic products. The application member picks up a generous amount of product from the concave front surface of the wing, so re-immersion is not required during application. More specifically, the longitudinal concave portion of the concave front surface of the wing facilitates retention of the cosmetic product. When the cosmetic applicator is applied to the keratin matrix, the cosmetic present in the longitudinal recesses of the wing may be deposited and the surface of the cosmetic product in contact with the lips or any other part of the body may be relatively large, and thus the lips or body may be relatively large. Any other portion of can be masked relatively quickly.
According to one aspect of the present disclosure, the longitudinal recess of the wing extends longitudinally from the proximal end to the distal end of the wing along a longitudinal axis that does not coincide with the longitudinal axis X of the application member/stem. More specifically, the longitudinal recess is off-center with respect to the longitudinal axis X of the application member and forms a non-zero angle with the longitudinal axis of the application member.
According to one aspect of the present disclosure, the support comprises two opposing major sides, a first front side, an opposing second back side, and two opposing sides, a third side and a fourth side. The third side is convexly curved along the longitudinal axis (X) and along an axis (Z) substantially perpendicular to the X and Y axes. Further, the fourth side comprises a convex curve followed by a concave curve when viewed from the proximal to the distal portion of the application member. The wings extend laterally from a fourth side of the support. The engaging edge of the wing is connected along at least a portion of the convex curved surface and the concave curved surface of the fourth side of the support body.
In alternative embodiments, the curves of the third and fourth sides of the support or the shape of the support may be different, so that the present disclosure is not limited by the curves of the third and fourth sides of the support or the shape of the support.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the widths of the first and second rear surfaces of the support are continuously decreased from the proximal end of the application member toward the distal portion of the application member, when viewed in front and rear views of the application member. do.
Further, the width of the third side surface of the support body decreases continuously from the proximal end of the application member toward the distal portion of the application member when viewed from the left side view of the application member. More specifically, the support in the left side view of the application member has a shape curved convexly toward the tip of the application member and has a side edge inclined. The third side of the backing provides a narrow blending surface to align and blend cosmetic products, for example at the corners of the lips and eyes.
According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the application member consists of an elastomer, in particular a thermoplastic elastomer. The wing is relatively thinner than the support. More specifically, the wing is at least two or three times thinner than the support. For that reason, the wing is particularly flexible and elastically bendable compared to the support. The wings are flexible enough to bend upon application along the contours of a person's facial skin or lips to provide a uniform coating of cosmetic products.
A swirled extension extends from the support to the concave front of the wing, providing strength to the wing during application. However, the swirl extension is an optional feature, and the application member may or may not include any such extension.
According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the width of the wing first increases from the proximal end of the wing to form the widest portion of the wing and then gradually decreases from the widest portion to the distal end of the wing. A narrow tip is formed at the distal end of the wing coincident with the distal end of the application member. Also, the narrow tip at the distal end allows the user to draw precise lines during application. Also, the narrow tip at the distal end of the application member may not coincide with the longitudinal axis X of the application member. More specifically, the narrow tip is off-center with respect to the longitudinal axis (X) of the cosmetic applicator.
According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the widest portion of the application member coincides with the widest portion of the wing.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, at least one of the wings and the support may be flocked.
According to an alternative embodiment of the present disclosure, the application member may not be flocked.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present disclosure, the outer surface of the application member is covered with an application element, which in this case is a flocking fiber. In brief, the flocking fibers, which can be any commonly used material such as nylon, polyester or any natural fibers, are applied to the surface to be flocked with an adhesive such as an epoxy. The flocking finish to the outer surface of the application member can be achieved by appropriately selected known techniques such as electrostatic flocking.
When using the cosmetic package, the user first removes the cap from the receptacle. To apply cosmetic products to a keratin matrix such as skin, lips, eyelids, cheeks, nails, or any other part of the body, the cosmetic applicator may be applied by the applicator head after being immersed in the cosmetic in the receptacle.
When the cosmetic applicator is withdrawn from the state immersed in the cosmetic, the cosmetic is picked up and held on the entire surface of the wing and the support.
The widest portion of the application member has a greater width than the widest portion of the wiper orifice. Accordingly, when the cosmetic applicator is withdrawn from the receptacle, the widest portion of the application member is caught in the wiper orifice of the wiper. In this embodiment, since the wing is made of an elastically deformable material, it is deformed at the widest portion caught by the wiper orifice so as to pass through the wiper orifice. A free lateral edge substantially opposite the engagement edge of the wing coupling the wing to the support is deformed to curl inwardly towards the concave front surface of the wing on which most of the cosmetic product is retained. Because the wings are curled, the cosmetic remains inside the longitudinal recesses of the wings while the wings are in a deformed state. On the other hand, the convex rear surface of the wing and the first surface of the support are further wiped by the wiper, and act as a blending surface for easy application of cosmetics applied by the concave front surface of the wing.
According to one embodiment, the wiper is made of an elastically deformable material, so that both the wing and the wiper orifice are deformed to reduce resistance to withdrawal and insertion, further improving ease of use.
After the wing has passed through the wiper orifice, it is restored to its original shape with no force applied by the wiper orifice. Thus, as the original shape is restored, the cosmetic is spread over the entire area of the concave front surface of the wing. As a result, the wing can apply the cosmetic uniformly to the lips or any other part of the body. At this time, almost no cosmetics remain on the convex rear surface of the wing, so that the user can safely and quickly apply the cosmetics without worrying about unintentional application other than the target site.
The wiper wipes off excess cosmetics attached to the wing as well as cosmetics attached to the stem.

In a preferred embodiment, the application element is flocked, but in a variant embodiment, the application element comprises projections, bristles, tines, suitable for combing and/or loading, transporting and applying cosmetic products such as, for example, mascara, eyeshadow, etc. particles, ribs, grooves, disks, slits, cuts, holes, dimples, foams or other surface features or surface treatments (eg, abrasive).
In a variant embodiment, the applicator may have a substantially C-shaped cross-section and a C-shaped longitudinal cavity.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the applicator may be made from a material selected from the group consisting of elastic or deformable plastic, rubber, sintered or porous material, and/or combinations thereof. An applicator head according to the present disclosure can be manufactured in a single injection molding step. The first and second sidewalls should be thin enough so that the first and second sidewalls can bend and wrap the spring effect even if no soft elastic plastic is used.
According to a fourth embodiment of the present disclosure, the application member of the applicator head includes a cylindrical root portion forming a base of the application member and a circular wing extending from the cylindrical root portion. The circular wing is constituted by a circular plate-like structure curved in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the application member. The cylindrical root gradually decreases in thickness and width from the proximal end of the applicator member to the proximal end of the circular wing. The circular wing forms the distal end of the application member.
Further, the circular wings of the application member form at least two main application surfaces opposed to each other, namely a first application surface and a second application surface opposite to the first application surface. At least one of the first application surface and the second application surface is concave, and more specifically, the first application surface has a concave outer surface and the second application surface has a convex exterior surface.
According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the root portion includes two extensions: a first extension extending longitudinally in opposite directions at each of the first and second application surfaces of the circular wing along the longitudinal axis of the application member; It has a second extension. Each of the first and second extensions extends along the longitudinal direction from the root portion of the application member to at least half the length of each of the first and second application surfaces of the circular wing.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the first and second extensions are similar to the protrusions on each of the first and second application surfaces. The first and second extensions define a rigid region on the application member that provides bending resistance during application. The circular wings without the first and second extensions form a flexible area flexible enough to be bent and adjusted according to the contour of the application surface, allowing for uniform and smooth application of the product during application.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first and second extensions of the root portion are identical in shape and dimension and extend parallel to each other over their entire length.
In an alternative embodiment, the first and second extensions of the root portion are not identical in shape and dimensions, and may or may not extend in parallel directions. For example, in the second embodiment of the applicator head according to the present disclosure, the first and second extensions of the root portion have unequal shapes and have different lengths along the longitudinal direction of the application member.
According to a further embodiment of the present disclosure, the length of each of the first and second extensions of the root portion is at least about 40% of the total length of the circular wing and less than 95% of the length of the circular wing.
Preferably, the total length of each of the first and second extensions of the root is greater than its width, for example several times longer than its width,
The first and second extensions may have any geometrical cross-section, for example may be round or may have a rectangular, triangular, square or irregular cross-section.
The circular wings are flexible enough to flex upon application along the contours of a person's facial skin or lips to provide a uniform coating of cosmetic products. The application member picks up a large amount of cosmetics from the concave outer surface of the first application surface.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the outer surface of the application member is covered with an application element, which in this case is a flocking fiber.
According to one aspect of the present disclosure, the application member may be flocked over substantially its entire visible surface. In a variant, at least one of the first and second extensions of the application member may be flocked. In another variation, only the circular wings used to apply the composition may be flocked.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the circular wing may have a smooth or rough surface before being flocked. Preferably, at least one of the first application surface and the second application surface has a textured surface. According to a variant embodiment of the present disclosure, the circular wing has a massage texture on the convex surface of the second application surface for skin irritation and improved absorption of the cosmetic, while the first application surface has a concave surface for smooth application of the cosmetic. Preferably, the massage texture comprises a faceted surface.
According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, there is provided a cosmetic package comprising a cosmetic applicator and a receptacle for holding a product. The cap of the cosmetic applicator has a thread formed in the neck of the receptacle that can be threaded into the thread. Additionally, the distal end of the stem may include an internal longitudinal cavity for receiving and retaining the applicator head.
A wiper may be inserted into the neck of the receptacle to wipe off excess cosmetic product from the cosmetic applicator. The wiper also includes a wiping orifice.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the shank portion fixedly inserted to the stem is integrally molded with the circular wing. According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, when the cosmetic applicator is withdrawn from the state immersed in the cosmetic, the cosmetic is picked up and held on the entire surface of the circular wing due to flocking. The widest portion of the circular wing has a greater width than the widest portion of the wiper orifice. Thus, when the cosmetic applicator is withdrawn from the receptacle, the widest portion of the circular wing is caught in the wiper orifice of the wiper. In this embodiment, since the circular wing is made of an elastically deformable material, it is deformed at the widest portion caught by the wiper orifice so as to pass through the wiper orifice. Since the first application surface of the circular wing on which most cosmetics are held has a concave outer surface, the circular wing is curled into a substantially C-shape. Because the circular wings are curled into a substantially C-shape, the cosmetic remains inside the C-shape while the circular wings are in a deformed state. On the other hand, the second application surface has a convex outer surface and is wiped with a wiper. The second application surface is further wiped and acts as a blending surface for easy application of the cosmetic applied by the first application surface of the circular wing.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the wiper is made of an elastically deformable material, so that both the circular wing and the wiper orifice are deformed to reduce resistance to withdrawal and insertion, further improving the usability.
After the circular wing passes through the wiper orifice, it is restored to its original shape without any force applied by the wiper orifice. Accordingly, as the original shape is restored, the cosmetic is spread over the entire area of the first application surface of the circular wing. As a result, the circular wing can apply cosmetics uniformly to the lips or any other part of the body. At this time, almost no cosmetics remain on the second application surface of the circular wing, so that the user can safely and quickly apply the cosmetics without worrying about unintended application other than the target site.
The wiper wipes off excess cosmetics attached to the circular wing as well as cosmetics attached to the stem.
According to one embodiment, the container and cap may be made of a rigid material such as glass, metal, rigid plastic or any other material known in the art. However, in alternative embodiments, the container and cap may be made of a flexible material, such as a flexible polymeric material or any other material known in the art.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the stem exhibits a circular cross-section, but other shapes do not depart from the scope of the present disclosure. According to another embodiment, the cross-section of the stem is oval, oval or polygonal, for example square, triangular or rectangular. The stem may be solid as shown, or in a variant it may be hollow.
If the stem does not have a circular cross-section, the cap may be fastened to the receptacle by snap-fastening or by some other means without rotating relative to the receptacle. Thus, the wiper can provide a non-circular wiper orifice of section complementary to the cross-section of the stem.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the applicator head may be at least partially made of a material that is more flexible than the material from which the stem is made. According to one embodiment, the receptacle and cap may be made of a rigid material such as glass, metal, rigid plastic, or any other material known in the art. In an alternative embodiment, the receptacle and cap are made of a flexible material, such as a flexible polymer material or any other material known in the art.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the applicator head and stem are fitted together by a snap fitment. However, in alternative embodiments, the applicator head and stem may be fitted together by friction fit, gluing, crimping, self-engaging, and the like.
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the stem may have a straight longitudinal axis (Y) as shown. In an alternative embodiment, the stem is curved.
According to a fifth embodiment of the present disclosure, a cosmetic applicator is disclosed comprising a container comprising a chamber for holding a quantity of cosmetic suitable for multiple applications to skin or other keratinous surfaces. The pump mechanism is connected to the vessel and in fluid communication with the chamber. An applicator head comprising an applicator member is connected to the pump mechanism. When the pump mechanism is actuated, an amount of product is delivered from the chamber to the application member.
According to one embodiment, the application member includes a root portion forming a base of the application member. The one or more root extensions extend distally from the root. The circular wing extends from and is supported by the root extension. The circular wing is constituted by a circular plate-like structure that can be curved about the longitudinal axis of the application member. The root extension gradually decreases in thickness and width from the proximal end of the application member toward the proximal end of the circular wing. The circular wing forms the distal end of the application member.
Further, the circular wings of the application member form at least two main application surfaces opposed to each other, namely, a first application surface or first surface and a second application surface or second surface opposite to the first application surface. At least one of the first application surface and the second application surface is concave, and more specifically, the first application surface has a concave surface and the second application surface has a convex outer surface.
According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the root portion has two root extensions. The two extensions extend at least partially along the longitudinal axis of the application member across the first and second application surfaces of the circular wing.
