기술은 계속해서 비약적인 발전을 이루고 있는 반면, 이에 비해 건널목 안전 시스템은 큰 발전이 잘 이루어지지 않고 있어서 교통사고 사망자 혹은 부상자가 계속 증가하는 추세이다. 특히 교통사고 사각지대 이면도로에서 거동이 불편한 노인, 키가 작은 어린 아이들의 피해가 크다. 또한 스마트 폰 관련 보행자 교통사고도 늘어나고 있다. 이는 건널목에 안전장치라 할 수 있는 것이 단순히 신호등뿐이기 때문이라고 보인다. 이를 통해 교통안전에 대한 관점 및 예산의 방향을 전환 할 필요가 있다고 생각한다.While the technology continues to make rapid progress, on the other hand, the crossing safety system is not well developed, so the number of fatalities or injuries in traffic accidents continues to increase.
