Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE
In a wireless communication system, a radio resource may include a frequency domain and a time domain. In a wireless communication system, a base station can use various techniques to increase the data rate for a terminal. For example, the BS may perform scheduling including a modulation coding scheme (MCS) in consideration of a channel state with a UE in a frequency domain and a time domain of a radio resource.
MCS means an operation of adaptively changing the modulation and coding rate for data to be transmitted according to the channel state with the terminal while maintaining the target reception error rate for the terminal. For example, the base station can increase the modulation and coding rate for data when the channel state with the terminal is good. On the other hand, if the channel condition with the terminal is not good, the BS can reduce the modulation and coding rate of the data.
Scheduling refers to an operation in which a base station allocates radio resources based on channel conditions of a plurality of terminals connected to the base station. For example, the base station can preferentially select a terminal having a good channel state to allocate radio resources. The base station can obtain frequency, time, and diversity effects for multiple users through scheduling.
The base station may receive channel state information from each of the plurality of terminals to perform scheduling including the MCS. The base station may perform scheduling for each of the plurality of terminals based on channel state information received from each of the plurality of terminals. At this time, the BS may allocate independent frequency and time resources for each of the plurality of UEs through scheduling.
The base station may transmit scheduling information and MCS information to each of the plurality of UEs via a control channel. Also, the base station may transmit the data to which the modulation and coding rate is applied to each of the plurality of terminals through the resources allocated through the scheduling. Each of the plurality of terminals can acquire scheduling information and MCS information from DCI (downlink control information) received through a control channel. Then, each of the plurality of terminals can receive a signal from the base station through the resource allocated thereto. Each of the plurality of terminals can decode data using a signal received from the base station.
At this time, when the wireless communication system is a broadband wireless communication system, various problems may occur. First, excessive computation and power consumption may occur to generate channel state information in a broadband wireless communication system.
For example, the base station may receive channel state information from each of a plurality of terminals to generate scheduling information and MCS information. That is, each of the plurality of terminals can transmit channel state information on the frequency band to be used to the base station. In this case, when the wireless communication system is a broadband wireless communication system, each of a plurality of terminals must transmit channel state information for each of a number of frequency subbands in a wide band to a base station.
Thus, in a broadband wireless communication system, each of a plurality of terminals may have to perform an excessive operation to transmit channel state information. That is, excessive overhead may occur for each of the plurality of terminals. Also, in a broadband wireless communication system, each of a plurality of terminals may consume excessive power to estimate channel state information for each of a number of frequency subbands.
Also, as the complexity of scheduling for wireless resources increases in a broadband wireless communication system, a time delay problem may occur. For example, when performing scheduling for a radio resource, a base station may consider various parameters to determine a data transmission method for each of the plurality of terminals after allocating radio resources to each of the plurality of terminals . At this time, the data transmission method may include a rank-1 transmission and a rank-2 transmission method. In addition, various parameters may include pairs of terminals, the number of layers, and the like. The base station may estimate the data throughput based on a combination of various variables. The base station can determine a radio resource and a transmission method for each of the plurality of terminals based on the estimated data throughput.
Accordingly, the scheduling complexity for the radio resources may increase in proportion to the increase of the radio resources available in the broadband wireless communication system. That is, a time delay may occur due to an increase in complexity for determining a radio resource and a transmission method to be allocated to each of a plurality of terminals in the broadband wireless communication system.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a method for managing frequency resources and time resources for data transmission in a broadband wireless communication system.

여기서, 무선 통신 시스템은 OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access)에 기초한 LTE(Long Term Evolution) 시스템일 수 있다.3, in a wireless communication system, a downlink subframe 300 may be composed of 14 Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple (OFDM)
여기서, 제1 심볼 내지 제3 심볼(301 내지 303)은 제어 정보를 전송하기 위한 PDCCH(Physical Downlink Control Channel) 영역일 수 있다. Here, the first to
하향링크 서브프레임(300)에서 PDCCH 영역 이후의 영역은 데이터 전송을 위한 PDSCH(Physical Downlink Shared Channel) 영역일 수 있다. An area after the PDCCH area in the DL subframe 300 may be a PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel) area for data transmission. The PDSCH may be distributed over the entire range of the wireless communication system.
In addition, the PDSCH can be configured as a resource block (RB) unit of a basic unit of scheduling. Here, one RB may be composed of 12 subcarriers. The number of RBs in the PDSCH may vary depending on the bandwidth of the wireless communication system. For example, the bandwidth of a wireless communication system may vary, such as 1.4 MHz, 3 MHz, 5 MHz, 10 MHz, 15 MHz, and 20 MHz. At this time, the number of RBs according to each bandwidth of the wireless communication system may be 6, 15, 25, 50, 75, and 100.
In a wireless communication system, a base station (not shown) may transmit control information and data to each of a plurality of terminals (not shown) in units of subframes 300. Each of the plurality of terminals can receive control information and data from the base station. For example, the terminal can receive control information from the base station via the PDCCH. Also, the terminal can receive data from the base station via the PDSCH. At this time, the UE can decode the control information to obtain the MCS information and the scheduling information. Then, the UE can decode the data based on the obtained MCS information and the scheduling information. At this time, if the UE fails to decode the control information received through the PDCCH of the subframe 300, it can not decode the data received through the PDSCH of the subframe 300. [
4 is a conceptual diagram showing the structure of an RB of a PDSCH region in a downlink subframe in a wireless communication system according to the first embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 4, in the wireless communication system, the
Each of the RBs in the
For example, the base station may transmit the RS to the terminal via each RB. The terminal can receive the RS from the base station via each RB. At this time, the terminal can generate the CSI for each frequency subband based on the RS received from the base station. Here, the frequency sub-band may be composed of a plurality of RBs located consecutively. The terminal can transmit the generated CSI to the base station. The base station can receive the CSI from the terminal. The base station can perform scheduling for the UE based on the CSI received from the UE.
A base station and a terminal operating in a frequency band of 6 GHz or more in a wireless communication system can use a bandwidth of several hundred MHz or several GHz for wireless communication. That is, the total number of RBs in a broadband wireless communication system may be several hundred to several thousand. At this time, the number of RSs can be increased by the number of RBs increased in the broadband wireless communication system. That is, in a broadband wireless communication system, a terminal can generate CSI for each of the increased RSs. Thus, in a broadband wireless communication system, a terminal can generate an excessive amount of CSI. Also, in a broadband wireless communication system, a terminal can transmit an excessive amount of CSI to a base station. Therefore, in a broadband wireless communication system, a terminal may consume an excessive amount of power.
Also, in a broadband wireless communication system, a base station can receive an excessive amount of CSI from a terminal. At this time, the base station can perform scheduling based on an excessive amount of CSIs. Therefore, the scheduling complexity of the base station can be increased. Also, due to an increase in the scheduling complexity of the base station, the processing time of the base station may be delayed.
Also, in a broadband wireless communication system, the amount of control information that a base station should transmit to a mobile station increases due to an increase in a radio resource region. Therefore, in the broadband wireless communication system, expansion of the control channel region may be required as the amount of control information increases.
5 is a conceptual diagram illustrating the structure of a PDSCH region in a downlink sub-frame in a system in a broadband wireless communication system according to a first embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 5, in a broadband wireless communication system, a
For example, the
S 1 may vary according to the size of the PDCCH region (not shown) in the subframe. Here, the PDCCH region may be the same as or similar to the PDCCH region of FIG. For example, if the number of OFDM symbols in the PDCCH region is 2 in a subframe, S 1 may be 3 and S 2 may be 4. That is, the first and second symbols in the subframe are the PDCCH regions, and the symbols after the second symbol may be PDSCH regions.
In a broadband wireless communication system according to the second embodiment of the present invention, a base station (not shown) may allocate radio resources in different areas to each of a plurality of terminals through scheduling. That is, each of the plurality of terminals can use radio resources of different areas. In other words, in a broadband wireless communication system, a base station can perform scheduling in a manner different from a method of allocating an entire frequency band to all terminals in an existing wireless communication system.
Also, in a broadband wireless communication system, a base station can classify a plurality of terminals into a plurality of terminal groups. At this time, the base station can allocate different radio resource regions to each of the plurality of terminal groups. That is, each of the plurality of terminal groups can use a different radio resource region. For example, each terminal can reduce the power consumption for generating the CSI by receiving the RS through some allocated radio resource regions. In addition, the base station sets up a radio resource region for each of a plurality of terminal groups, thereby performing scheduling for some terminals in a certain radio resource region. Thus, the base station can reduce the computational complexity and time delay for scheduling.
Operations of the base station performing the scheduling and the terminal receiving the data according to the scheduling result will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 6A and 6B.
