Abstract

The present invention relates to a double-sided tape and a display device including the same. More specifically, the purpose of the present invention is to provide a double-sided tape which ensures low costs and favorable quality, and a display device including the same. According to the present invention, the double-sided tape comprises: a fabric layer including 100 parts by weight of an ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM) and 10-100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic elastic body; a first adhesive layer formed on a first side of the fabric layer; and a second adhesive layer formed on a second side of the fabric layer.

The double-sided tape 10 includes an antifouling layer 11, a first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 12 and a second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 13.

The monolayer 11 is made of EPDM and a thermoplastic elastomer. In addition, an additive capable of improving the quality of the artificial layer 10 such as an antioxidant may be further included.

The thermoplastic elastomer may be used in an amount of 10 to 100 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of EPDM. When the amount of the thermoplastic elastomer is less than 10 parts by weight, there arises a problem that the impact resistance is poor. When the amount of the thermoplastic elastomer is 100 parts by weight or more, there is a problem that the heat resistance is lowered and the deformation is increased. More specifically, 20 to 50 parts by weight, 20 to 40 parts by weight, 25 to 35 parts by weight or 25 to 40 parts by weight of the thermoplastic elastomer may be used.

As the thermoplastic elastomer, a propylene base elastomer or an ethylene base elastomer can be used, and in particular, a propylene base elastomer can be used. As the propylene base elastomer, Vistamaxx product of Exxon Mobil Corporation may be used. As the ethylene base elastomer, Lucene brand name of POE of LG Chem may be used.

As the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers 12 and 13, acrylic type pressure-sensitive adhesives may be used, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

The surface of the monolayer 11 may be corona treated.

The thickness t1 of the monolayer 11 may vary and may be, for example, from 40 to 650 um. The thicknesses t2 and t3 of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers 12 and 13 may also be variously changed, and may be, for example, 20um to 150um each. The total thickness of the monolayer 11 and the adhesive layer 12, 13 may be 100 [mu] m to 800 [mu] m.

Although not shown, the double-sided tape 10 may further include a release film located outside the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers 12 and 13. The double-sided tape 10 may include another functional layer such as an impact absorption layer, and particles capable of performing various functions may be added to the raw layer 11 and / or the adhesive layer 12 or 13.

The double-sided tape 10 according to the present invention has a lower cost than the conventional double-sided tape using a PET-based single layer. Also, it is possible to produce only by the mixing and extrusion process, and the production process cost is also low.

EPDM is a product of Lotte Chemical Co., and ethylene base elastomer is POE of LG Chem. The propylene base elastomer was a product of ExxonMobil.

The thermoplastic elastomer was varied from 0 to 40 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of EPDM in 10 parts by weight, and the mixture was extruded to prepare a fabric. The fabric was corona treated and then acrylic type solvent type adhesive was applied on both sides. The thickness of the monolayer was 150 μm, and the thickness of each pressure-sensitive adhesive layer was 75 μm.

Appearance evaluation and drop test were carried out for each sample prepared.

Appearance evaluation was performed by observing the dots in light. Appearance evaluation is to see if the surface of the fabric is smooth and there are no protrusions or pits.

The drop test was performed to evaluate the impact resistance (impact strength) of the double-sided tape. The SUS plate and the PC plate were placed on both sides of the double-sided tape, and the tape was squeezed once with a 2 kg compression roller (moved at 300 mm / min) A sample was prepared. And then dropped at a height of 1.4 m to measure the number of drops when the falling test sample was separated. The drop test was performed three times for each sample.

As a result of appearance evaluation, the appearance was the best when only EPDM (Sample 1) was used and the appearance was better than that when PBE was used (Sample 5 to Sample 7) than when POE was used (Sample 2 to Sample 4). However, when using PBE or POE, the appearance rating is usually higher than normal.

From the drop test results, it can be seen that the impact resistance is poor when only EPDM is used, and the impact resistance is remarkably improved by including 20 parts by weight of POE or PBE. Particularly, when the POE or PBE is contained in an amount of 30 parts by weight or more, the impact resistance is sufficiently secured.

In addition, the thickness of the single layer was changed to 50um and 100um, and the thickness of the adhesive layer was changed to 50um. Also, the content of the thermoplastic elastomer was increased to 100 parts by weight, and the result of the drop test was 600 times or more.
