먼저, 본 발명의 도마(30)는 미사용시 싱크대의 수납실(20)에 보관된다. 이러한 상태에서 도마(30)를 사용하고자 할 경우 싱크볼(10)의 인출홈(14)을 통해 노출된 도마(30)의 파지홈(33)에 손가락을 넣어 측 방향으로 당긴다. 그러면 도마(30)의 돌부(31)가 가이드 레일(40)을 타고 이송하면서 도마(30)가 인출된다. 도마(30)의 인출이 완료되면 도마(30)의 말단을 싱크볼(10)의 단턱(12)에 안착시키되 파지홈(33) 하단으로 싱크볼(10)의 걸림턱(13)이 위치하도록 한다. 이와 같은 상태가 되면 파지홈(33)에 걸림턱(13)이 삽입된 상태이므로 들지 않는 이상 도마(30)는 측 방향으로 움직이지 않는다. 그리고 도마(30)의 상면과 싱크대의 상면이 동일 평면상에 위치하여 칼질을 하더라도 주변환경으로부터 방해받지 않는다. 요리의 재료를 다 썰고 나면 도마(30)를 세척한 후 파지홈(33)을 잡고 살짝 들어올리면서 수납실(20)에 밀어 넣는다. 이 과정에서 도마(30)의 단차부(32)가 인출구(11)에 위치하는 순간 도마(30)의 양 돌부(31)가 가이드 레일(40)의 절곡부(42)에 위치하여 자연스럽게 하강하면서 삽입이 이루어진다. 도마(30)의 삽입이 완료되면 도마(30)의 말단은 싱크볼(10)의 측면과 동일면에 위치하여 설거지 시 도마(30)의 간섭이 발생하지 않는다. 한편, 도마(30)에 묻은 수분은 수납실(20) 바닥(21)으로 떨어져 배수구 및 배수관(P2)을 타고 배수되며, 살균 램프(50)에 의해 도마(30)는 살균 및 건조된다. 따라서 세척된 도마(30)는 물기를 제거할 필요 없이 바로 수납실(20)에 삽입하면 된다.

상기 도마(30)는 단차부(32)를 형성함을 특징으로 하는 도마가 내장된 싱크대.
