Description
The present invention relates to a showcase and a control method thereof, and more particularly to a showcase including a transparent display and a control method thereof.
In general, a transparent display means a display device capable of viewing the rear surface of the panel. Typical transparent displays include projection type transparent displays such as a head up display (HUD) and a head mounted display (HMD), transparent organic light emitting diodes (OLED), light emitting diodes Diodes) and transparent liquid crystal displays (LCDs).
On the other hand, in the field of showcase, a transparent display panel has been applied in place of the front window for displaying information on deliveries housed inside, display effect of displays, advertisements, and the like. The prior art for such a showcase has already been disclosed in Korean Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 2004-0078075 (Showcase with Transparent Display, Apr. 25, 2014). The present invention is characterized in that it comprises a case having a storage space opened and closed by a door, and a transparent display provided on the door to display various contents information.
Here, a lamp for illuminating the storage space may be provided inside the case. The lamp may be brighter than the transparent display to allow the storage space to be viewed through the transparent display. However, even if the brightness of the lamp is brighter than the brightness of the transparent display, the visibility of the storage space can not be secured, so that it is difficult for the user to confirm the storage space through the transparent display.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a showcase and a control method thereof that can improve the visibility of a storage space viewed through a transparent display.
The showcase according to the present invention includes a main body having a storage space formed therein and provided with a door for opening and closing the storage space, a lamp for illuminating the storage space provided on the main body, and a transparent display disposed on the door so that the storage space can be seen through; And a controller for controlling the brightness of the lamp for visibility of the storage space viewed through the transparent display.
The transparent display may include a transparent panel installed in a transparent window provided on the door, and a panel light disposed around the transparent panel to provide light to the transparent panel.
The showcase may further include a first sensing unit for sensing a user who intends to identify the storage space through the transparent display, and the controller may increase the brightness of the lamp according to a signal provided from the first sensing unit .
The controller may increase the brightness of the lamp according to a signal provided from the first sensing unit, and may reduce the brightness of the panel light.
The first sensing unit may be provided as a contact sensing unit provided on the main body and sensing contact between the main body and the user.
The first sensing unit may be provided in the main body as an approach sensing unit for sensing the user approaching the main body.
