Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a body composition analyzing apparatus and method, and more particularly, to a four-point touch-type four-electrode body composition analyzing apparatus and method for displaying a recommended calorie consumption amount together with body composition information using an LED.
The body component refers to a component that constitutes the human body. In other words, our human body consists of water, protein, fat, minerals and other major components. The proportions of these constituents vary depending on gender, age, and individual characteristics and are closely related to health.
Body composition analysis is a test that provides basic information that can quantitatively analyze the components of the human body and accurately grasp the condition of the body. Healthy individuals maintain a moderate proportion of body composition in a balanced proportion. However, if this balance is broken, body fat is excessively increased due to unbalance among body components, resulting in obesity, nutritional deficiency due to protein deficiency, edema due to extracellular water increase, and osteoporosis due to mineral deficiency.
There are various methods for analyzing body composition such as anthropometry, underwater weight density, dexamethasone, CT, and bioelectrical resistance. Among them, Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) is a method of analyzing body composition using current. When a fine alternating current flows through the human body, the current flows along the highly conductive water, and the impedance is measured differently from body water, fat, and muscle as the water content is high and low. In this case, the measured impedance has a certain relation with the constituent of the body, so that it is possible to analyze the constitution of the constituent.
That is, the bioelectrical resistance method is used because the human body is composed of a conductive material and a low-impedance material, and the ratio of the two tissues is reflected in the impedance measurement value.
The body composition analyzing apparatus using the bioelectrical impedance method is advantageous in industrialization because it is easy to operate, easy to measure, and can be used effectively because it can be used in a rich manner.
The body composition analyzer is mainly used in hospitals and sports markets, and most of the body composition analyzers commonly used in the sports market currently use the BIA method. In addition, the stand type body composition analyzer, which helps to design exercise programs for diet or weight training in the sports training center, is an expensive equipment and it is a financial burden for the individual to use directly.
A portable body composition analyzing device has been developed and provided so as to check an individual's physical condition without such an economic burden.
Among the body composition analyzing apparatuses, the 8-point touch type 4-electrode body composition analyzing apparatus is mainly used in a hospital, an advanced fitness center, and a public health center.
In place of such an expensive body composition analyzing apparatus, a low-cost body composition analyzing apparatus has been developed as a portable apparatus. Examples of such low-cost body composition analyzers include a four-point touch-type two-electrode method and a two-point touch-type two-electrode method. However, the low-cost four-point touch-type two-electrode method is inconvenient for the user to take off the socks and measure both feet against the pole, which makes the measurement inconvenient.
Therefore, a 4-point touch-type four-electrode method body composition analyzer is required to be low in cost and high in accuracy. The 4-point touch-type 4-electrode body composition analyzer measures the electrical resistance (ie, impedance) through the minute current flowing in the body, measures the amount of body water with the measured impedance value, Impedance Analysis method. Since the human body is made up largely of muscle mass, minerals and body fat, body fat mass can be obtained by excluding inorganic mass and muscle mass from body weight.
