중앙대학교 및 서울대학교 대학원에 재학중인 대학원생 50명을 10개의 그룹으로 나누어 본 발명의 특허출원 업무대행 비즈니스 모델(BM)과 대한민국 특허청의 전자출원 모델을 각각 이용하여 특허출원을 시도해보도록 해 보고, 특허청에 서류를 전송하기 직전까지 소요된 시간을 측정하였다. 이때, 대한민국 특허청의 전자출원에 대해서는 변리사나 특허사무소에 재직 중인 특허출원 전문가의 도움은 2차적으로 고려하고 본인이 특허 출원을 위한 정보를 찾아서 출원해 줄 것을 요청하였다. 또한, 발명의 내용은 미리 작성해 줄 것을 요청하였다. 일주일이 지나도 출원이 어려운 경우 “포기”로 표시하였다.
