Abstract
Description
This specification discloses an electronic device capable of multitasking.
In recent years, electronic devices such as smart phones, tablet PCs, and the like can support multitasking that allows users to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. For example, a user can read an article or enjoy a game using an electronic device. At this time, if the short message is received by the electronic device, the electronic device can notify the user that the short message has been received. The electronic device responds to the user's request to display a window of the message application and to transmit the reply message entered via the window. The electronic device may re-display the window of the previous application (i.e., the article or game-related window) in response to the user's request after the message has been transmitted. However, when another short message is received, the user needs to reload the message application to reply to it. In this way, the user needs to switch applications to perform desired tasks. However, such a switching operation may cause inconvenience to the user.
It is an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus and a method for displaying a window of a background application temporarily on a part of a window of a foreground application so as to perform a task of a background application.
Where the background and foreground applications may be applications in run mode. The execution mode may be that the application is loaded into the main memory from the auxiliary memory and is being executed by the operating system. The foreground application may be an application having access rights to the screen. In other words, the foreground application may be an application that performs the task with the highest priority.
A method of operating an electronic device of the present disclosure includes: displaying a window of a foreground application; Displaying at least one background application window in a portion of the foreground application window; Detecting a user input selecting one of the at least one background application window; And updating the selected window by granting foreground permission to the background application of the selected window.
An electronic apparatus of the present disclosure includes: a display unit that displays a window of an application; An input for detecting user input; Displaying a window of a foreground application; displaying at least one background application window in a portion of the foreground application window; detecting a user input selecting one of the at least one background application window; An operation manager configured to perform an operation of granting foreground authority to a background application of the selected window to update the selected window; And at least one processor for executing the task manager.
The method and apparatus according to the present disclosure may display at least one background application window in a portion of a foreground application window and temporarily perform foreground operations by granting foreground permission to one of the foreground application windows.
1 is a block diagram of an electronic device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure;
2 is a flowchart for explaining an example of a procedure for temporarily assigning a foreground authority to a background application and performing an operation.
3 is a flowchart for explaining a different example of a procedure for temporarily assigning a foreground authority to a background application to perform an operation.
4 is a flowchart for explaining an example of a procedure for replacing foreground application.
5A, 5B, 5C, and 5D are screens for explaining an example of a procedure for interacting with a message application.
6A and 6B are screens for explaining an example of a procedure for interacting with a plurality of applications.
7 is a flowchart for explaining an example of a procedure in which a window of a background application to which a foreground right is temporarily granted is updated.
The electronic device according to the present disclosure may be used in various applications such as smart phones, cameras, tablet PCs, notebook PCs, desktop PCs, media players (e.g. MP3 players), PDAs, gaming terminals, wearable computers May be a computing device. Further, the electronic device according to the present disclosure may be a home appliance (e.g., a refrigerator, a TV, a washing machine, etc.) in which such a computing device is embedded.
The electronic device according to the present disclosure may display a " background interface that includes at least one background application window "in a portion of the foreground application window in response to a user request (e.g., tapping a message reception notification displayed on the screen). The electronic device may grant a foreground privilege to the background application of the window selected in the background interface. That is, the electronic device can update and display the selected background application window. The electronic device may stop displaying the background interface in response to a user request (e.g., tapping the foreground application window). That is, the electronic device may reassign the original application to the original application. Thus, the electronic device can provide the user with an interaction that allows the background application to temporarily perform foreground privilege, thereby enabling the background application to perform the operation.
Various embodiments of the present disclosure will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In describing the embodiments, descriptions of techniques that are well known in the art to which the present disclosure pertains and are not directly related to the present disclosure may be omitted. Further, detailed description of components having substantially the same configuration and function can be omitted. In the drawings, some of the elements may be exaggerated, omitted, or schematically illustrated.
