Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a panel assembly having curved corners and a display device having the panel assembly.
2. Description of the Related Art Generally, a display device is an apparatus that receives an image or image information and displays an image or an image.
The display device includes a display unit on which a screen is displayed, and the display unit includes a display panel made of a liquid crystal panel and a case covering the side and rear surfaces of the display panel.
In recent years, such a display device has been developed in a direction to minimize the width of a bezel formed by a case in consideration of design.
In addition, in order to improve the design of the display device, it has been considered that four corners of the case are formed as curved lines. In general, the display panel is formed into a rectangular plate shape having four corners.
Therefore, in the case of manufacturing a display device in which four corners of the case are formed in a curved shape while using a rectangular panel-shaped display panel, the corner of the display panel must be obscured by the case so that it is difficult to reduce the width of the bezel portion of the case to a certain level or less .
One aspect of the present invention is to provide a panel assembly having curved corners and a display device having the panel assembly.
A panel assembly and a display device having the panel assembly according to one aspect of the present invention are formed in a rectangular plate shape and have upper and lower corners formed in a curved line and a lower end corner formed in a square shape, The corners are formed to be angled, and both lower edges include curved second display panels.
The lower end of the first display panel and the upper end of the second display panel overlap each other in the front-rear direction.
The first display panel and the second display panel are formed to have the same upper and lower widths.
The lower end of the first display panel and the upper end of the second display panel are connected to each other.
The second display panel is formed to have a smaller width than the first display panel.
The case may further include a case having a rectangular ring-shaped side cover portion to surround the side surface of the panel assembly, wherein four corners of the side cover portion are curved to correspond to the panel assembly.
As described above, it is possible to manufacture a panel assembly in which the first display panel having the curved upper and lower corners and the second display panel having the curved lower both corners combine to form curved lines at all four corners. A display device in which all four corners are curved can be manufactured.
