Description

Broadcast content recording method and broadcast receiving apparatus using the same {METHOD FOR RECORDING BROADCAST CONTENTS AND BROADCAST RECEIVING APPARATUS THEREOF}

The present invention relates to a broadcast content recording method and a broadcast receiving device applying the same, and more particularly, to a broadcast content recording method for managing and recording broadcast content for each group and a broadcast receiving device applying the same.

Recent developments in technology have made it possible to watch a variety of broadcast content through a broadcast receiving device. The viewer may watch in real time according to the broadcast time or may record broadcast content for viewing outside the broadcast time.

On the other hand, when recording and watching broadcast content, it becomes very cumbersome if the user needs to set recording for each or every broadcast content. For user convenience, if a user sets recording for a specific content group or a content group including a plurality of contents for the first time, it should be able to automatically record all broadcast contents included therein.

Here, there arises a problem of how to efficiently manage and schedule recording of a content group including a large number of broadcast contents and a plurality of broadcast contents. This can be particularly problematic when the user wants to record a plurality of content and content groups.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a broadcast content recording method capable of automatically scheduling and recording broadcast content using a content group, and a broadcast receiving apparatus using the same.

The broadcast content recording method according to an embodiment of the present invention includes receiving at least one content group for recording broadcast content, and selecting the selected content group based on a recording related history of broadcast content belonging to the selected content group. Assigning a predetermined score to the processor, assigning priority to the selected content group based on the assigned score, and scheduling recording of broadcast content based on the assigned priority.

Here, the recording related history of the broadcast content may be at least one of a recording history of the broadcast content, a viewing history of the recorded broadcast content, and a history in which the recorded broadcast content is deleted without viewing. A predetermined score may be assigned to the content group based on the number of broadcast contents having the recording related history belonging to the selected content group.

Meanwhile, the broadcast content recording method may further include changing the priority of the content group when at least one event occurs among recording, viewing, deleting broadcast content, scheduling recording of broadcast content, and elapse of a predetermined time interval. have.

The method may further include setting a priority of at least one content group among the selected content groups according to a user command, and the priority of the content group set by the user command may be designated as a default.

Here, in the scheduling, when the broadcast times of at least two broadcast contents overlap, the recording of the broadcast contents may be scheduled according to the priority of the content group to which the corresponding broadcast content belongs.

The method may further include receiving the scheduled broadcast content and recording the received broadcast content. The recording may include: when the storage space for recording the scheduled broadcast content is insufficient, Comparing the priority of the content group to which the scheduled broadcast content belongs with the priority of the content group to which the pre-recorded broadcast content belongs, and at least one pre-recorded broadcast having a lower priority than the priority of the content group to which the scheduled broadcast content belongs. And deleting the content.

Alternatively, the recording may include comparing the content score of the scheduled broadcast content with the content score of the previously recorded broadcast content when the storage space for recording the scheduled broadcast content is insufficient, and the scheduled broadcast content. The method may include deleting at least one pre-recorded broadcast content having a content score lower than a content score of.

The content score may be given based on at least one of the number of times the broadcast content is viewed, a priority of a content group to which the broadcast content belongs, and a time at which the broadcast content is stored.

If the at least one content group has a plurality of priorities of different levels, the method may further include setting a priority of the highest level among the plurality of priorities as a priority of the corresponding content group, wherein the plurality of priorities may include a user command. The priority level may be set in the order of the priority set by the priority set by the broadcaster or the content provider and the priority given by the recording related history.

On the other hand, the broadcast receiving device according to an embodiment of the present invention, the user interface unit for selecting at least one content group for recording the broadcast content, based on the recording related history of the broadcast content belonging to the selected content group; And a controller for assigning a predetermined score to the selected content group and assigning priority to the selected content group based on the assigned score, and a scheduling unit to schedule recording of broadcast content based on the given priority.

Here, the recording related history of the broadcast content may be at least one of a recording history of the broadcast content, a viewing history of the recorded broadcast content, and a history of deleting the recorded broadcast content without viewing, and the control unit may select the selected content. A predetermined score may be assigned to the content group based on the number of broadcast contents belonging to a group and having the recording related history.

The controller may change the priority of the content group when at least one event occurs among recording, viewing, deleting broadcast content, scheduling recording of broadcast content, and elapse of a predetermined time interval.

The user interface may receive a priority of at least one content group among the selected content groups according to a user command, and the priority of the content group set by the user command may be designated as a default.

When the broadcast time of at least two broadcast contents overlaps, the controller may control to schedule recording of the broadcast contents according to the priority order of the content group to which the corresponding broadcast contents belong.

The broadcast receiving device may further include a receiving unit for receiving the scheduled broadcast content and a storage unit for recording the received broadcast content, wherein the controller is further configured to store the scheduled broadcast content in the storage unit. When the storage space is insufficient, at least the priority of the content group to which the scheduled broadcast content belongs and the priority of the content group to which the pre-recorded broadcast content belongs, and have a priority lower than the priority of the content group to which the scheduled broadcast content belongs. One pre-recorded broadcast content may be controlled to be deleted from the storage unit.

Alternatively, the broadcast receiving apparatus may further include a receiving unit for receiving the scheduled broadcast content and a storage unit for recording the received broadcast content, wherein the control unit is further configured to store the storage unit for recording the scheduled broadcast content. When the space is insufficient, the content score of the scheduled broadcast content is compared with the content score of the pre-recorded broadcast content, and at least one pre-recorded broadcast content having a content score lower than the content score of the scheduled broadcast content is read. It can be controlled to delete from the storage.

The content score may be given based on at least one of the number of times the broadcast content is viewed, a priority of a content group to which the broadcast content belongs, and a time when the broadcast content is stored in the storage.

In addition, when the at least one content group has a plurality of priorities having different levels, the controller may control the priority of the highest level among the plurality of priorities to be set as the priority of the corresponding content group.

The plurality of priorities may have priority levels in order of priority set by a user command, priority given by a broadcaster or a content provider, and priority given by a recording related history.

According to various embodiments of the present disclosure as described above, by selecting a content group, user convenience may be increased by automatically recording broadcast content belonging to the content group. In addition, when broadcast time of broadcast content is overlapped or when there is insufficient storage space for recording, broadcast content may be recorded according to user preference.

Hereinafter, with reference to the accompanying drawings will be described in detail with respect to the present invention.

1 is a diagram illustrating a GUI for selecting a content group according to an embodiment of the present invention.

The GUI according to FIG. 1 may be displayed by the broadcast reception device or may be displayed on a display device connected to the broadcast reception device. The GUI may be configured as a “content group” placement screen 110 through which a user can select and release a content group. In detail, the GUI may display the plurality of content groups 140, such as “news”, “sports”, and the like.

The plurality of content groups may be arranged hierarchically. For example, the content group "movie" may include subgroups "action movie" or "classic movie".

The user may control the GUI provided on the screen through the user interface unit for selecting or releasing the content group. For example, in FIG. 1, the GUI highlights and displays 150 the content group “movie”. A brief description or overview 120 of the content group that is highlighted may be displayed above the list of content groups. GUI control through the user interface allows the user to select or deselect content groups. For example, the icon 130 in the form of a check mark indicates that the user is checking the content groups "News" and "Modern Classics: 2000-2010" for the selection of the content groups. Here, the checked content group may be selected by inputting the confirmation icon 160 through the user interface. Here, if the content group has a subgroup, all subgroups of the selected content group may be selected by selecting the upper content group.

The select icon 160 is used to select the checked content group. The selection can be performed not only by user command but also automatically, for example, according to the user's preference based on recording related history. When the content group is selected, the content may be automatically recorded. That is, by selecting a content group, broadcast contents belonging to the selected content group may be recorded. For example, the broadcast reception device may record a broadcast content by identifying a content group of broadcast content and monitoring data for broadcast content belonging to the selected content group.

The content group may be included in content data including information related to broadcast content such as content guide data. The content group may be defined by metadata for transmitting broadcast channels. The metadata may include an identifier for identifying each content group, a title and a summary for describing the content group, and the like. The metadata may be based on the TV-Anytime XML model shown in standard TS 102 822-3-1, and may be received and processed by the receiving device. In addition, the content data of the broadcast content may include identification data for identifying a content group including the broadcast content. For example, the identification data included in the "world news" content may be associated with the "news" content group of the content group The content data of the broadcast content further includes the start time, duration, content title, and summary of the content. Broadcast content and / or content group data may be supplied separately from content data that is “off-schedule”, such as, for example, unscheduled broadcast content. “Off-schedule” content can be programmed on-demand according to the user's needs. Content and / or content group data can be stored, for example, via a wired or wireless network connection. It may be supplied not only in a broadcast using broadcast channels which may be supplied, but also in other ways, for example, from a server used to supply content and / or content group data. The association of content groups with broadcast content may be indirect, for example, some data may be associated with content group identifiers. If the user selects a content group, the receiving device may monitor broadcast content belonging to the content group, As soon as the broadcast content is tracked, recording of the broadcast content is automatically scheduled using data such as a start time and a duration.

According to an embodiment, broadcasters of one or more broadcast contents may supply content groups and a list of broadcast contents belonging to each group through a transmitted table or data fragment of control data included in the broadcast data stream. For example, the control data may be in accordance with the Digital Storage Media Command and Control (DSM-CC) standard defined in the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) standard. When using the DSM-CC based system, broadcast contents belonging to a content group may be included in a Push Download Program (PDP) fragment and may be identified by a Content Reference Identifier (CRID). CRID is an internationally unique identifier, similar to a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) that identifies a unit of content in a broadcast stream. Contents may be defined as "On-Schedule" or "Off-Schedule". "On-Schedule" means that the CRID mentioned in the PDP fragment resolves an entry in the Event Information Table (EIT). In this case, the receiving device can find the EIT Cache, that is, the cache of the EIT data is stored based on the control data received from the broadcast stream. When the receiving device finds the CRIDs of the contents belonging to the selected content group, the receiving device schedules or checks the contents to be recorded. The receiving device may retrieve and use the metadata of the content from the EIT, that is, title, summary, start time, and the like. The “Off-Schedule” event does not exist in the tables that make up the EIT. Thus, the receiving device can schedule the content belonging to the selected content group based on the start time and location as depicted in the PDP fragment. In both cases, the content metadata may come from additional content information fragments.

If a DSM-CC based system is used, the content group and / or content data may be supplied as part of the periodically supplied data. The content data included in the broadcast data stream and continuously supplied can be retrieved at any time when the receiving device tunes the stream. In this case, the content group and / or the content information can be used by periodically monitoring the data supplied periodically, for example every 10 minutes. This content information can be used to supply content group data identifying the selected content groups. If registered as "On-schedule", the receiving device can automatically monitor the EIT cache.

Content groups represent content grouped using content data relating to a genre or subject. In general, content data is set by a content producer rather than a broadcaster. However, it can also be created using other databases. Various content data can make grouping of content difficult. Except for a few content groups, such as “last TV's best TVs,” it may be difficult to group thematically similar content. Preferably, one broadcast content may be included in one content group, that is, included in a content group. A given content may have only one genre or subject.

Although content groups are useful to users, they also cause problems. The content groups may include a large number of broadcast content and there may be a large number of content groups. This can be a problem with limited hardware resources. For example, the broadcast reception device may be limited according to the ability to modulate the broadcast stream or channel. Thus, conflicts may occur between events included in different content groups. For example, the broadcast content "World News" belonging to the content group "News" may partially or wholly overlap with the broadcast time of the movie "Adaptation" of the content group "Modern Classics: 2000-2010". If the receiving device includes one tuner for receiving a broadcast signal, only one broadcast content can be recorded because only the broadcast stream can be tuned and decoded. It is not desirable to receive commands from the user to resolve these conflicts. Such conflicts may appear at any time in broadcast content scheduling, and may be interrupted by the GUI if the user receives instructions from the user while viewing the content.

When the receiving device includes a storage unit for recording broadcast content, use of the content group can quickly consume available storage space. If the storage device is full, you will no longer be able to record until you delete the recorded content. Therefore, there is a need for a solution to these problems.

Various embodiments of the present invention provide an apparatus and method for solving this problem. For example, it may be used to control the receiving device by giving priority to a content group. If a resource conflict occurs, the assigned priorities can be used to resolve the conflict and select the appropriate broadcast content.

2 is a flowchart illustrating a method of giving priority to a content group according to an embodiment of the present invention.

In step 210, the user selects a content group. That is, a content group is selected to automatically record broadcast content. Here, the GUI according to FIG. 1 may be used. As another example, selecting a content group may be performed automatically on behalf of the user, eg, in accordance with user preference data.

Steps 220 through 290 illustrate a method of giving priority to the selected content group. Steps 230 to 290 provide a method of flexibly giving priority. That is, prioritization may change over time. Each of the steps shown in FIG. 2 is merely an embodiment, and other additional steps may be added or some steps may be excluded.

In step 220 priority is given and initialized. This gives the first priority to the newly selected content group. Initial priority may be given according to predetermined criteria. For example, the priority that is not yet given to the other selected content groups or the lowest priority among the selected content groups may be given. The initialization step includes generating a count value and initializing these values, for example to zero.

Steps 230 to 290 may be performed at any time after the initialization step 220. Steps 230 to 290 may be repeatedly performed when a preset event occurs. The preset event may be at least one of recording, viewing, deleting broadcast content, scheduling for recording broadcast content, and elapse of a predetermined time interval.

In operation 230, broadcast content is recorded. The recorded content is any one of contents belonging to the broadcast content group selected in step 210. In step 240, the count value for the recorded content group is increased. The count value may be the number of recorded contents belonging to the selected content group. Therefore, the count value may be updated whenever broadcast content belonging to the content group is newly recorded. The increase in the count value may occur directly as soon as the content is recorded, or indirectly based on storage history, recording, and the like.

Steps 250 and 260 can be performed similarly as in steps 230 and 240. In operation 250, content belonging to the content group selected may be viewed, and in operation 260, the count value of the viewed content belonging to the content group may increase. The count value may be the number of watched contents belonging to the selected content group. The criteria in which content is considered to be viewed may be various. For example, when the user watches the content from the beginning to the end, it may be regarded as viewed when the user watches more than a preset time of the total playing time of the content. Accordingly, even when the content is viewed for only a few minutes, the content can be prevented from being viewed.

In step 270, a metric is calculated based on the count value. The distance function may indicate how much content group a user prefers. The distance function is a function of the count values of steps 240 and 260. Other values can also be used to calculate the distance function. The distance function can be a content group score and can be calculated as a percentage. In an embodiment, the distance function may be a value obtained by dividing the number of recorded contents by 100 and multiplying the number of viewed contents. In another embodiment, the distance function may be a value obtained by dividing the number of recorded contents belonging to a content group with respect to the total number of recorded contents by the number of all recorded contents and multiplying by 100. Other functions can also be used as needed.

In step 280, the priority is calculated on the content group selected in step 210 based on the calculated distance function. In step 290, the priority of the selected content group may be adjusted. The step of adjusting the priority is performed by ranking the selected content groups according to the distance function value and assigning different priorities to the content groups of each rank. For example, if there are ten selected content groups, each group may be given priority from 0 to 9. 9 may indicate the highest priority. That is, it may be a content group having the largest distance function value. Priority can be granted in a variety of ways. For example, priority 0 may indicate the highest priority. These are only examples and should not be construed as limited to the examples described.

In the meantime, the priorities of the content groups are calculated and the priorities of the respective content groups are adjusted in steps 280 and 290. However, this step gives priority to the content groups based on the calculated distance function, that is, the scores of the content groups. It could be interpreted as a step. After the priorities are granted, steps 230-290 can be repeated. That is, the assigned priority can be changed. In particular, when at least one event occurs during recording, viewing, deleting of broadcast content, recording scheduling of broadcast content, and elapse of a predetermined time interval, steps 230 to 290 may be repeated to change a given priority.

Meanwhile, if the distance function of a content group is updated, it may be determined in step 280 whether the ranking of the content group is to be changed. For example, if only one content group of the content groups may change its priority based on the updated distance function, in which case the two content groups exchange priorities, then at step 290 one of the content group's priorities may change. Only a subset may need adjustment. Steps 280 and 290 may allow all selected content groups to have a unique priority value.

3 and 4 illustrate an embodiment in which a priority of a content group is used to resolve a collision when a broadcast content is recorded. Specifically, FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating a method of scheduling recording of broadcast content according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a flowchart illustrating a method for deleting stored contents according to an embodiment of the present invention.

According to FIG. 3, recording of broadcast content belonging to the content group selected in step 310 is scheduled. When a preset time elapses or a preset event occurs, the broadcast receiving device searches for content guide data to determine whether there is broadcast content belonging to the selected content group or broadcasts indicating that content belonging to the content group can be received by the receiving device. Over-the-air signal can be monitored. During the search for the first content belonging to the selected content group, step 320 may be performed. Step 320 considers whether there is a conflict between the first content to be scheduled for recording and the other content. If there is no conflict, the content is scheduled in step 350. If there is a conflict, step 330 is performed. A conflict may exist if the first delivery time of the first content belonging to the first content group occurs at the same time as the second delivery time of the second content belonging to the second content group, in part or in whole. The second content may be indicated in the registered recording schedule. For example, the second content may be scheduled for recording in accordance with steps 310, 320 and 350 when there is no conflict. At step 330, it may be found if there is another way to avoid the collision. For example, conflicting content may then be broadcast again on the same or different broadcast channel at a different time or date. If there is another broadcast time of conflicting content, it may be scheduled in step 350. This process may be applied repeatedly to avoid contention. If the content that is in conflict has no other broadcast time, that is, there is no other way to avoid the collision, step 340 is performed. The priority of the first content group is compared with the priority of the second content group, so that either one of the first or second content is selected. For example, if the priority of the first content group is higher than the priority of the second content group, the first broadcast content may be selected; If the priority of the second content group is higher than that of the first content group, the second broadcast content may be selected. Then, scheduling is determined for the content selected in step 350. Unselected content is not scheduled. The method according to FIG. 3 may be repeatedly applied to each broadcast content belonging to a content group. Alternatively, the operation may be performed in relation to a list of broadcast contents appearing in broadcast data regardless of time. In this way, broadcast content belonging to a higher priority content group may be scheduled in preference to broadcast content belonging to a lower priority content group.

4 is a flowchart illustrating a method for resolving a collision of a storage space according to an exemplary embodiment. Method 4 may be performed by the broadcast reception device. In operation 410, the broadcast reception device starts recording the scheduled broadcast content. It may also be performed when recording is scheduled as well as when recording starts. In operation 420, the receiving device may set an environment for determining an amount of storage space available for recording content. As described above, the broadcast reception device may include a storage. On the other hand, the storage unit may be implemented as an external storage device connected to the broadcast receiving device to store the recorded broadcast content. Such storage may be implemented as a digital or analog storage medium such as a magnetic disk, flash memory, tape device. In operation 420, it is determined whether the storage space of the storage unit is insufficient. Here, the lack of storage space means that the available storage space is less than or equal to a preset standard. The preset criterion may be defined in units of time or bytes. The preset criterion may be set to the minimum storage space required for recording the scheduled broadcast content. If there is a storage space, that is, if there is enough storage space to store the broadcast content to be recorded, the broadcast content may be recorded in step 480. However, if the storage space is insufficient, that is, if the storage space is less than the predetermined reference, step 430 is performed.

In step 430, priorities assigned to the content group to which the recorded broadcast content belongs are analyzed. The content group priority may be checked for all recorded contents stored in the storage unit, or the content group may be set only for some broadcast contents according to preset criteria such as the top 10 broadcast contents with long recording periods. You can also check your priority. In step 440, the content group priorities of the analyzed broadcast content are compared with the priority of the content group to which the content to be recorded belongs. If there is a content having a lower content group priority among the recorded broadcast contents, the content is deleted from the storage device in step 460. In step 470, the broadcast content is deleted to determine whether sufficient storage space is secured for recording the scheduled broadcast content. If there is still not enough storage space to record the scheduled content, steps 440 and 460 can be repeated. If there is enough storage space to record the scheduled content, the scheduled content is recorded at step 480. On the other hand, if there is no content having a lower content group priority than the scheduled broadcast content among the broadcast contents recorded in step 440, or sufficient storage for storing the scheduled content even if all the broadcast contents having the lower content group priority are deleted. If there is no space, the recording of the scheduled content is stopped at step 450.

The method according to FIG. 4 compares the content group priority of the scheduled broadcast content with the content group priority of the recorded broadcast content, and if the scheduled broadcast content belongs to a content group of higher priority, the broadcast receiving device automatically, i.e. It is possible to delete recorded contents belonging to a lower scored content group without a user command.

5 is a flowchart illustrating a priority grant process according to another embodiment of the present invention. The method according to FIG. 5 is an extension of the method shown in FIG. 2. Steps 510, 520, 530, 540, 550, 560, 570, 580 and 590 are similar to steps 210 through 290 of FIG. 2. However, the method according to FIG. 5 differs from FIG. 2 in considering contents deleted without being viewed after recording when calculating the distance function in step 570. In operation 555, the stored content is deleted. Specifically, this means that the recorded and stored broadcast content is deleted without viewing. Accordingly, the count value of the number of deleted contents of the content group to which the deleted content belongs in step 565 is increased. When calculating the content group score or distance function in step 570, the number of deleted contents may be taken into account. For example, the distance function may be calculated according to the following equation.

(Number of recorded content / 100) * (number of watched content-number of deleted content)

By using the number of contents deleted without being viewed in the calculation of the distance function, a content group priority different from that in FIG. 2 can be given. That is, a content group having a large number of contents deleted without viewing after recording means a low user preference, and accordingly, a content group priority different from that of FIG. 2 may be given. Although not shown in FIG. 5, broadcast contents that have been stored for a long time but have not been watched among recorded contents may also affect the calculation of the distance function. For example, the time from recording to storage to viewing may be considered. Accordingly, the content group priority may indicate a user's preference for the content group. That is, a content group containing a lot of broadcast content that is occasionally watched or deleted without being watched will have a lower priority, and a content group that contains a lot of broadcast content that is frequently watched and not deleted by a user has a higher priority. Could be. 2 and 5 may effectively assign a content group score to a content group based on a recording related history of broadcast contents belonging to the content group. The recording related history may be recording, watching, deleting after watching without broadcasting content, time until watching after recording, and the like. The content group score can be used to prioritize the content group.

6 is a flowchart illustrating a method for deleting stored contents according to another embodiment of the present invention. The method according to FIG. 6 is similar to the method according to FIG. 4. Steps 610 to 680 of FIG. 5 correspond to steps 410 to 480 of FIG. 4. However, the difference is that the content score of the broadcast content itself is used rather than the content group priority of the content group. The content score is a function of the content group priority based on the characteristics of the individual content and calculated by effectively weighting the priority of the content group to which the content belongs. The content score may be calculated based on at least one of a content group priority to which the content belongs, a number of times the content has been viewed, a time at which the content is stored when the content is not watched, or a time from when the content is broadcast. For example, the content score may be calculated according to the following equation.

If content was watched:

Content Score = Content Group Priority * Views

If the content was not watched:

Content score = content group priority / time the content is stored

By using the content score, a shortage of storage space can be prevented when there is a content group composed of a plurality of broadcast contents. That is, it is possible to prevent the broadcast content belonging to the content group having a high priority from monopolizing the space of the storage device.

7 is a diagram illustrating a GUI for displaying a selected content group according to priority according to an embodiment of the present invention.

The GUI of FIG. 7 may display the selected content groups in the form of a list 710 sorted according to record list priority. This list may be configured to include other selected content groups that are not visible on the screen using a scroll bar. If there are seven selected content groups as in FIG. 7, for example, the content group listed at the top with the first priority of 0 to be given to the newly selected content group-"Modern Classics: 2000-2010." It may have a priority of 7, and the lowest-listed content group-"news"-may have a priority of 1. However, as described above, this is only an embodiment and may be given priority in various ways. 7 is just an example, and other GUIs for displaying a content group may be used according to the priorities, which will be described later with reference to FIG. 8. In addition, the display screen may be configured on a character basis as well as a GUI. End or the like is supplied to the external device can receive a user input for changing the priority, such as on an external device. The user input may be transmitted to the broadcast receiving apparatus through, such as after the TCP / IP network.

8 is a diagram illustrating a process of changing the priority of a content group on a GUI according to an embodiment of the present invention.

In the GUI of FIG. 7, a user may input a user command using a user input device such as a remote controller. According to FIG. 7, the content group "news" 720 is selected on the current GUI. When the content group is selected, the user can change the position of the selected group in the displayed list by pressing the direction button of the user input device. FIG. 8 illustrates a result of the user moving the content group 720 of FIG. 7 to the top 730 of the content group list. This can be done by repeatedly pressing the direction button of the user input device. After changing the location of the content group, the content group "News" has been given priority to 7 and the content group "Modern Classic: 2000-2010." Has been given priority to 6. The position of the content group can move down as well as up.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, when the user changes the priority given to the content group, that is, the priority given by the user may be excluded from the priority change process. In other words, the priority given to the user may be designated by default. The priority given by the user may take precedence over the priority automatically assigned. That is, when the content group "news" is changed to the top of the content group list by the user, the content group "news" may remain in the top position even when the priority of the content group is changed due to recording, viewing, or deleting the content. That is, it may have the highest priority despite the change of the priority of other content groups, and accordingly, the user change priorities may be given fixed priorities in the “priority adjustment” step 290 or 590 of FIGS. 2 and 5. That is, only "news" may have a priority of seven.

Meanwhile, the user may delete some of the selected content group on the GUI of FIG. 7. When a user deletes a content group, ie no longer wants to automatically record broadcast content belonging to that group, the content group priority no longer applies. Recorded contents belonging to the deleted content group stored in the storage may be regarded as directly recorded by the user. That is, the method of FIG. 4 or 6 does not apply.

9 is a flowchart illustrating a method of scheduling recording of broadcast content according to another embodiment of the present invention.

2 and 5, the priority of the content group may be given automatically by the broadcast receiving device, specifically, by a recording related history. However, the priority of the content group may also be given by the broadcaster or the broadcast content producer. Such content group priority may be transmitted to the broadcast reception device as metadata. Or, it may be transmitted through a server through which a receiving device can communicate, such as a local, wide-area network, or a telecommunication network. The priority given by the broadcaster or broadcast content producer may be given in place of, or in addition to, the priority given automatically and the priority given by the user. That is, the content group may have a plurality of priorities at the same time according to the priority granting method. If only one priority is given to each content group, the method according to FIGS. 3, 4 and 6 can still be applied. However, if the content group has a plurality of priorities, the method according to FIG. 9 may be applied.

Steps 910 and 920 of FIG. 9 are similar to steps 310 and 320 of FIG. 3. In step 910, broadcast content is scheduled for recording, and in step 920, it is determined whether the broadcast time of the scheduled broadcast content overlaps in whole or part with the broadcast time of other scheduled broadcast content, that is, whether there is a conflict. If there is no conflict, the content is scheduled in step 980. If there is a conflict, step 930 is performed.

Steps 930 and 940 determine sequentially whether each priority exists in the order of priority level. Here, the priority given by the user has a higher level than the priority given by the broadcaster or the content producer, and the priority given by the broadcaster or the content producer has a higher level than the priority given automatically. Here, other priority levels can be applied. That is, the priority given by the broadcaster or the content producer may have a higher level than the priority given by the user. In operation 930, it is determined whether a priority given by a user exists in content groups to which conflicting broadcast content belongs. If the priority given by the user exists, the priority given by the user is compared in step 950, and scheduling of the content having high priority is determined in step 980. Determine if it exists. If there is a priority given by the broadcaster, in step 960 the content group priorities of conflicting contents are compared. In step 980, the content with the highest priority is scheduled. If the priority given by the broadcaster or the content producer does not exist, the content group priority of the conflicting content may be compared using the automatically assigned content group priority. This automatically assigned content group priority may be calculated immediately in accordance with FIG. 2 at step 970 or may be based on previously stored content group priority. In step 980, scheduling of broadcast content having a high priority among conflicting broadcast contents is determined. If there are 3 or more colliding broadcast contents, the schedule of the broadcast content having the highest priority will be determined. Meanwhile, as another embodiment, the levels of the plurality of priorities may be given with comparable priority values, or the priorities of the different levels may be compared by normalizing the respective priority values. Accordingly, when the content group has a plurality of content group priorities at different levels, the priority of any one of the plurality of priorities may be designated as the priority of the content group. For example, a plurality of priorities may be compared to designate the highest or lowest priority as the priority of the content group.

4 and 6 described above may also be applied in a similar manner to FIG. 9. That is, it may be determined in step 440 or 640 whether there are different levels of priority. For example, when deleting broadcast contents recorded in the storage unit, the priority given by the user may have a high level with respect to the priority given by the broadcaster or the content producer, and the priority given by the broadcaster or the content producer is automatically assigned. It may have a level higher than the priority set. In this way, as in FIG. 9, the broadcaster or the content producer may be recommended to give rather than give absolute authority to the priority of the content group.

10 is a block diagram illustrating a configuration of a broadcast receiving apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention. The broadcast reception device 1000 according to FIG. 10 is just an embodiment and may include more or fewer configurations.

According to FIG. 10, the broadcast reception device 1000 may include a display 1010, an antenna 1020, a receiver 1030, a decoder 1040, a GUI 1050, a controller 1060, and a storage 1070. Can be. The GUI generator 1050 may generate a GUI as shown in FIG. 1, 7, or 8. The display 1010 displays the broadcast signal decoded by the decoder 1040. In addition, the GUI generated by the GUI generator 1050 may be displayed. In FIG. 10, the display unit 1010 has been described as being included in the broadcast reception device. However, the display unit 1010 may be connected to the broadcast reception device 1000 and implemented in a separate configuration.

The controller 1060 controls the overall configuration of the broadcast receiving device 1000. That is, the controller 1060 may control the display 1010, the antenna 1020, the receiver 1030, the decoder 1040, the GUI 1050, and the storage 1070 to perform corresponding operations. have.

The storage unit 1070 stores broadcast content that is scheduled and recorded. The storage unit 1070 may be configured as a storage device such as volatile memory. In FIG. 10, the storage unit 1070 is described as being included in the broadcast reception device 1000, but the storage unit 1070 may be connected to the broadcast reception device 1000 and implemented in a separate configuration such as an external storage device. .

11 is a block diagram illustrating a configuration of a broadcast receiving apparatus according to another embodiment of the present invention. The broadcast receiving device 1100 may be implemented with various devices such as a digital TV, a set top box, a digital video recorder, a personal computer (PC), a notebook computer, and a mobile terminal.

Referring to FIG. 11, the broadcast reception device 1100 includes a user interface 110, a controller 1120, and a scheduling unit 1130.

The user interface 1110 may receive at least one content group from the user for recording broadcast content. That is, the user may select a content group to be recorded through the user interface 1110. In addition, the user interface 1110 may receive priority setting of at least one content group among the selected content groups. That is, the user may set or change the priority of the selected content group. The priority of the content group set or changed by the user may be assigned by default.

The controller 1120 controls the overall operation of the broadcast reception device 1100. That is, the controller 1120 may control the user interface 1110 and the scheduling unit 1130 to perform corresponding operations, respectively.

The scheduling unit 1130 schedules the recording of the broadcast content based on the priority given by the control unit 1120. Meanwhile, although the scheduling unit 1130 has been described as a separate configuration included in the broadcast receiving device 1110, the process of scheduling recording of broadcast content may be performed by the controller 1120. That is, the scheduling unit 1130 may be included in the control unit 1120 to perform a corresponding function.

Hereinafter, the operation of the controller 1120 will be described in more detail.

The controller 1120 assigns a preset score to the selected content group based on the recording related history of the broadcast content belonging to the selected content group through the user interface 1110, and selects the selected content group based on the assigned score. Give priority to. Here, the recording related history of the broadcast content may be at least one of a recording history of the broadcast content, a viewing history of the recorded broadcast content, and a history of deleting the recorded broadcast content without viewing. In addition, when assigning a preset score to the selected content group, the controller 1120 may assign a preset score based on the number of broadcast contents having a recording related history.

On the other hand, when at least one content group has a plurality of priorities of different levels, the highest level priority among the plurality of priorities may be set as the priority of the corresponding content group. Here, the plurality of priorities may have priority levels in order of priority set by a user, priority given by a broadcaster or content producer, and priority given by a recording related history. This priority level is only an example, and if there are a plurality of priorities, the priority may be set according to different priority levels. The process of assigning priority has been described in detail with reference to FIGS. 2, 5, and 9, and thus a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

The controller 1120 may change the assigned priority. In detail, the controller 1120 may change the priority of the content group when at least one event occurs while recording, viewing, deleting broadcast content, scheduling recording of the broadcast content, and a predetermined time interval. Accordingly, the priority of the content group may change over time to reflect user preferences for the content group. However, as described above, the priority set or changed by the user may be designated by default.

In addition, when the broadcast times of at least two broadcast contents overlap, the controller 1120 controls to schedule the recording of the broadcast contents according to the priority of the content group to which the broadcast contents belong. The overlapping broadcast time means a case in which the broadcast times of at least two broadcast contents overlap partially or entirely. This has been described in detail with reference to FIGS. 3 and 9, and thus a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

12 is a block diagram illustrating a configuration of a broadcast reception device 1100 according to another embodiment of the present invention.

According to FIG. 12, the broadcast receiving device 1100 may further include a user interface 1110, a controller 1120, a scheduler 1130, a receiver 1140, and a storage 1150.

The receiver 1140 receives broadcast content. The receiver 1140 may receive content from a broadcasting station that transmits broadcast content using a broadcast network. If possible, other communication networks capable of receiving content such as the Internet as well as broadcast networks may be used.

When receiving content from a broadcasting station, the receiver 1140 may be implemented in a form including a tuner (not shown), a demodulator (not shown), an equalizer (not shown), and the like. In the case of receiving content from a source such as a web server, the embodiment may be implemented as a network interface card (not shown).

Meanwhile, the receiver 1140 may receive metadata, content data, content group data, and the like. Such data include information about broadcast content and content groups. In particular, the broadcast content may include identification information for identifying a broadcast content and a content group to which the broadcast content belongs. The controller 1120 may identify the broadcast content belonging to the selected content group by using the identification information, and may control to schedule the broadcast content by using broadcast information such as a broadcast time of the identified broadcast content.

The storage unit 1150 records the broadcast content received by the receiver 1140. In detail, when the broadcast content scheduled by the scheduling unit 1130 is received through the receiver 1140, the broadcast content may be recorded and stored.

Herein, when the storage unit 1150 does not have enough storage space for recording the scheduled broadcast content, the controller 1120 compares the priority of the content group to which the scheduled broadcast content belongs to the priority of the content group to which the previously recorded broadcast content belongs. The storage unit 1150 may control to delete at least one pre-recorded broadcast content having a priority lower than that of the content group to which the scheduled broadcast content belongs.

The controller 1120 compares the content score of the scheduled broadcast content and the content score of the pre-recorded broadcast content when the storage unit 1150 lacks a space for recording the scheduled broadcast content. The storage unit 1150 may control to delete at least one pre-recorded broadcast content having a content score lower than the content score of the storage unit 1150.

Here, the content score may mean a score assigned to each broadcast content, and may be given based on at least one of the number of times the broadcast content is viewed, the priority of the content group to which the broadcast content belongs, and the time when the broadcast content is stored in the storage unit. have.

Since the operation of the broadcast receiving device 1100 when the storage space of the storage unit 1150 is insufficient has been described in detail with reference to FIGS. 4 and 6, a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

Meanwhile, although the storage unit 1150 is represented as being included in the broadcast receiving device 1100, the storage unit 1150 may be an external HDD or a memory card connected to the broadcast receiving device 1100, for example, a flash memory. : M / S, XD, SD, etc.) or USB memory.

13 is a flowchart illustrating a content recording method according to an embodiment of the present invention.

First, a content group is selected (S1310). In more detail, at least one content group may be selected for recording broadcast content. In operation S1320, a predetermined score is assigned to the selected content group. The preset score may be given based on a recording related history of broadcast content belonging to the selected content group. The recording related history may be at least one of a recording history of the broadcast content, a viewing history of the recorded broadcast content, and a history of deleting the recorded broadcast content without viewing. Accordingly, the priority may be reflected by the user's preference for the content group. The assigning the score may assign a predetermined score to the content group based on the number of broadcast contents having a recording related history belonging to the selected content group.

Thereafter, priority is given to the selected content group based on the assigned score (S1330). Then, the recording of the broadcast content is scheduled based on the assigned priority (S1340). In operation S1340, when the broadcast times of at least two broadcast contents overlap, the recording of the broadcast contents may be scheduled according to the priority of the content group to which the corresponding broadcast contents belong.

Here, the content recording method according to FIG. 13 further includes changing a priority of a content group when at least one event occurs among recording, viewing, deleting broadcast content, scheduling recording of broadcast content, and elapse of a predetermined time interval. can do. Accordingly, the priority given can be changed flexibly over time.

The method may further include setting priority of at least one content group among the selected content groups according to a user command. In other words, the assigned priority can be changed by the user. In addition, the priority of the content group set by the user command may be designated by default.

In addition, the content recording method according to FIG. 13 may further include receiving the scheduled broadcast content and recording the received broadcast content. If the storage space for recording the scheduled broadcast content is insufficient, the recording may include: comparing the priority of the content group to which the scheduled broadcast content belongs with the priority of the content group to which the pre-recorded broadcast content belongs; and the scheduled The method may include deleting at least one pre-recorded broadcast content having a lower priority than a priority of a content group to which the broadcast content belongs. Alternatively, the recording may include comparing the content score of the scheduled broadcast content and the content score of the pre-recorded broadcast content when the storage space for recording the scheduled broadcast content is insufficient, and the content score of the scheduled broadcast content. The method may include deleting at least one pre-recorded broadcast content having a low content score. Here, the content score may mean a score assigned to each broadcast content, and may be given based on at least one of the number of times the broadcast content is viewed, the priority of the content group to which the broadcast content belongs, and the time when the broadcast content is stored in the storage unit. have. Accordingly, even when the storage space is insufficient, broadcast contents can be recorded according to priority order.

In addition, when the at least one content group has a plurality of priorities having different levels, the method may further include setting a priority of the highest level among the plurality of priorities as the priority of the corresponding content group, wherein the plurality of priorities may include a user command. The priority level may be set in the order of the priority set by the priority set by the broadcaster or the content provider and the priority given by the recording related history.

Since the content recording method according to FIG. 13 has been described in detail with reference to FIGS. 2 to 7 and 9, a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

The method according to various embodiments of the present disclosure described above may be implemented by program code stored in various types of recording media and executed by a CPU included in the electronic device.

Specifically, the code for performing the above-described method may include random access memory (RAM), flash memory, read only memory (ROM), erasable programmable ROM (EPROM), electronically erasable and programmable ROM (EEPROM), a register, a hard drive. It may be stored in various types of recording media readable by the terminal, such as a disk, a removable disk, a memory card, a USB memory, a CD-ROM, and the like.

Although the above has been illustrated and described with respect to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, the present invention is not limited to the above-described specific embodiments, it is usually in the art without departing from the spirit of the invention claimed in the claims. Anyone skilled in the art can make various modifications, as well as such changes are within the scope of the claims.
