Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an submerged MBR (Submerged Membrane Bio-Reactor) system in which a sedimentation tank is replaced with a membrane in an existing activated sludge process for treating sewage.
Membrane technology has been continuously applied and expanded and has been recognized as the most noticed and reliable technology in the field of reuse and sewage treatment of sewage and wastewater. MBR process, one of these membrane technologies, combines the advantages of activated sludge process and membrane technology to replace solid and liquid separation by gravity sedimentation with membrane separation to solve the disadvantages of existing activated sludge process.
특히, 생물반응조에 분리막을 침지하여 여과를 진행하는 침지형 MBR 공정은 완벽한 고ㆍ액 분리와 안정된 처리수의 확보, 적은 소요부지, 고농도의 MLSS (Mixed Liquor Suspended Solid) 농도에서 운전 및 유지가 가능 등의 많은 장점으로 인하여 지속적으로 하ㆍ폐수 처리에 적용되고 있으며 실적 또한 증가 추세에 있다.MBR (Membrane Bio-Reactor, Membrane Bioreactor) process, also called activated sludge membrane separation process or membrane-bound activated sludge process, is not limited to the activated sludge process, but is a general combination of the general bioreactor and membrane separation process. In particular, the immersion type MBR process, which filters the membrane by immersing the membrane in the bioreactor, enables perfect solid and liquid separation, secures stable treated water, requires less land, and can be operated and maintained at a high concentration of MLSS (Mixed Liquor Suspended Solid). Due to its many advantages, it is continuously applied to sewage and wastewater treatment, and its performance is also increasing.
In the widely commercialized MBR process, membrane fouling caused by concentration polarization is the biggest limiting factor.
Membrane contamination is a phenomenon in which a cake layer is formed on the surface of the membrane or the pores of the membrane are clogged, which not only reduces the flux, but also shortens the replacement cycle of the membrane in the long term, thereby reducing the maintenance cost. It leads to problems such as increase.
In order to improve this, an additional pre-treatment process may be performed to remove material causing the membrane contamination in advance, or physical or chemical cleaning may be performed on the membrane that has undergone membrane contamination to form the cake layer. By delaying to recover the reduced flux.
However, when membrane contamination is prevented in this way, the initial installation cost is increased and the process is complicated, and operation difficulties are encountered. Physical and chemical cleaning may damage the material and pores of the membrane, and cleaning chemicals There is a problem that requires an additional treatment process is generated by the secondary pollutants.
Therefore, it is common to use a method of controlling the formation of the cake layer by delaying the formation of the cake layer by supplying excessive air to the separator surface in the immersion type MBR process. This method is a control method using a shear force generated by directly supplying air to the immersed membrane module, which increases the mass transfer on the surface of the membrane and delays the formation of the cake layer. However, since excessive air is supplied to the membrane surface to generate shear force to control membrane contamination, the operating cost is increased due to excessive energy consumption, and high efficiency is obtained when the air flow is dispersed without being properly delivered to the membrane surface. To solve this problem, it is necessary to optimize the oversupply of air to the membrane surface.
The present invention has been made in view of the above, and aims to control membrane contamination, which is a major cause of flux reduction in MBR process or immersion type MBR process, and to reduce resistance by cake layer which occupies the largest proportion in membrane contamination. It is done.
Immersion type membrane bioreactor according to the present invention for achieving the above object, the reaction tank; A conduit member installed to be immersed in sewage contained in the reactor, the conduit member having a plurality of conduit cells partitioned by a grid-like partition; A plurality of submerged membrane modules disposed in parallel in the conduit cell and having a hollow fiber type separator; A nozzle unit installed below the conduit member and supplying air for each of the submerged membrane modules installed in each conduit cell; And a suction pump connected to the upper side of the conduit member and extracting filtered water while passing through the conduit cell.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the conduit member is preferably provided in the form of a square column.
The nozzle unit, a blower (blower) for sucking the outside air; And a flow rate adjusting device for adjusting a flow rate of the inflowing air.
In addition, the nozzle unit has a slender tubular nozzle of a slender shape, the nozzle preferably has a diameter within the range of 0.1mm to 30mm.
According to the present invention as described above, since the air flow distributed throughout the bioreactor can be controlled around the surface of the separator, the shear force generated by the air is more efficiently transmitted to maximize the cleaning effect by the air. In addition, it is possible to reduce the resistance by the cake layer, which is the main cause of membrane contamination and flux reduction.
In particular, by installing a membrane module inside a square column pipe member and sealing the upper and lower parts, the air supplied to the membrane module does not leak out of the pipeline cell, and a partition wall is installed inside the tube to subdivide the membrane module. By doing so, the shear force transmitted by the air can be transmitted efficiently.
In addition, due to the partition of the square columnar partition, the formation of slug-shaped air bubbles in the lower part of the conduit member and induction of efficient two-phase flow (gas-liquid), microbial concentration (MLSS concentration) and air Depending on the change in air flow rate, an appropriate membrane contamination control effect can be observed.

On the other hand, Figure 5 to Figure 7 shows a
In order to verify the efficiency of the
As a result of such an experiment, as shown in FIG. 10, in the
The change in TMP was measured while maintaining the flux constant in order to quantify the degree of membrane contamination according to the change of MLSS concentration and the supplied air flow rate. To this end, a digital pressure gauge (ZSE40F, SMC Co., Japan) was installed at the front end of the peristaltic pump, and the change in TMP according to the filtration time was transmitted to the computer in real time, and the membrane contamination was quantified. Using the measured TMP and the resistance in series model, the resistance value was calculated according to the following equation (1) to quantify the degree of membrane contamination.

The measurement of the Rm value, which is the resistance of the
Figure 11 shows the measurement of the change in TMP according to the change in MLSS concentration during 300 minutes operating time. The MLSS concentration of 3 g / L and the
Table 5 shows the resistance at each MLSS concentration. The MLSS concentration applied to the present experiment was conducted at intervals of about three times, but when comparing the measured resistance values, the resistance value increased with the increase of the MLSS concentration, but there was no significant difference about three times. This is because the air bubbles supplied to the membrane module are not distributed in the bioreactor due to the square tube, but are supplied to the membrane module and the air bubbles are more efficiently collected due to the partition wall installed inside the square tube. It is believed that the enhanced shear force is transmitted because air bubbles contact the separator surface more efficiently.
To find the change of TMP according to the change of air flow rate at the same MLSS concentration, the air flow rate supplied to the inside of the pipe through the nozzle was set to 1.5, 2.7 L / min, respectively, and the MLSS concentrations of 3, 6, and 10 g / L, respectively Eggplants were immersed in a bioreactor and filtered through a membrane module at a constant flux of 30LMH to measure the change in TMP. The change in TMP according to the change of MLSS concentration over 300 minutes was measured and shown in FIGS. 12 and 13. The change in the measured TMP when the air flow rate shown in the embodiment according to the present invention is 4.5 L / min is expressed as shown.
When the air flow rate is 1.5 L / min MLSS concentration of 3 g / L
When the air flow rate was 1.5 L / min, it was observed that the square tube with the bulkhead was installed, and that the lower TMP was changed with the lower MLSS concentration, and 1.5 L / min in the experiment when the air flow rate was 2.7 L / min. Although the TMP change was lower than the measured TMP change in the air flow of min, the change of TMP according to the presence or absence of the partition wall was almost constant without any significant difference. This is because the air bubbles contacting the membrane module where the square tube is not installed are not dispersed but are supplied to the membrane surface, and the enhanced shear force, which is intended to be obtained by the installation of the partition, is transmitted to the inside of the square tube that is transmitted or submerged without the partition. It is considered that the result was measured because the inflow and discharge of the sludge was opened at the upper and lower portions of the pipe so that the inflow and discharge of the sludge could proceed properly.
Table 6 shows the resistance values for various MLSS concentrations and air flow rates. When the air flow rate is 1.5 L / min, the Rc + Rf values of the
When the air flow rate is 2.7 L / min, the Rc + Rf values of the
In the experiment with air flow of 1.5 L / min, the value of Rc + Rf measured in the experiment with the square tube with bulkhead is lower than the value of Rc + Rf with the square without the bulkhead. However, in the experiment when the air flow rate is 2.7 L / min, the Rc + Rf value was measured almost constant without significant difference depending on the presence or absence of the partition wall. When the air flow rate was gradually increased to 1.5, 2.7, 4.5 L / min and the resistance values measured were compared with each other, the measured resistance value was the largest at the air flow rate of 1.5 L / min and the air flow rate was 2.7 L / min. The measured resistance value at min was lower than that at the air flow rate of 4.5 L / min.
According to the experiments as described above, it was confirmed that the air flow acts as a factor in controlling the membrane contamination, and when simply supplying a higher air flow rate, the control of the membrane contamination is not carried out efficiently. It can be seen that there is an appropriate operating condition for and that optimization for that condition is necessary. In particular, the number of nozzles according to the configuration of the partition wall can be adjusted according to the experimental conditions.
At present, MBR has been applied and constructed and operated in many sewage and wastewater treatment plants and water purification plants in Korea and abroad. However, the reduction of flux due to membrane contamination, short replacement cycle of membranes, high energy consumption due to excessive air supply for oxygen supply of microorganisms and membrane contamination is problematic.
