Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a solid oxide fuel cell, and more particularly, to solve thermal mechanical instability and corrosion risks due to the use of a metal electrical connecting plate, and in the form of a new flat tube that is easy to manufacture and structurally stable. An integrated unit cell and a stack of a monolithic type manufactured using the same are provided.
Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC), the third generation fuel cell, uses a thermochemically stable zirconia-based electrolyte, and has a fuel electrode and an air electrode attached thereto. Various fuel gases such as diesel and coal gas can be used, and the generation efficiency is the highest among existing fuel cells, and high-temperature exhaust gas is used as a high efficiency, low pollution, next generation power generation method that can further generate power (cogeneration).
SOFC has used stabilized zirconium oxide (hereinafter referred to as YSZ) in which yttria was added as an electrolyte and the stabilization of the crystal structure was achieved. This material has the conductivity of oxygen ions, but this ion conductivity is dependent on the temperature and can only achieve the desired conductivity as a fuel cell in the high temperature range of 800-1000 ° C. For this reason, the operating temperature of SOFC is usually 800-1000 ℃, and the ceramic material is used for the electrode material to withstand such high temperature. In general, the entire single cell composed of fuel electrode / electrolyte / anode is made of ceramic material. It is composed. However, the ion conductivity of the above-described YSZ electrolyte is about 0.1 S / cm at 1000 ° C. at most, so that a thin film (10-30 μm) electrolyte layer having a high density without pores may be used to minimize internal resistance caused by YSZ. Should be coated.
Conventional plate type SOFCs include a fuel and a metal plate connecting an electrode part having an air electrode and a fuel electrode on the front and back sides of the electrolyte layer, and a cathode between the air electrode of one electrode part and the fuel electrode of a neighboring electrode part. One stack is formed by repeatedly stacking interconnect plates having gas channels forming air passages. Therefore, there is a problem of thermal stress between the ceramic electrode portion and the metal electrical connecting plate and the corrosion of the metal electrical connecting material due to the exposure of hot air. In addition, the flat plate type requires a seal at all parts of the cell edge to prevent mixing of air and hydrogen gas above and below the cell. Conventionally, many kinds of glass have been used as sealing materials. The softening temperature of glass-based materials starts at about 600 ° C, and excessive force is applied between the unit cells due to thermal expansion during elevated temperature, thereby increasing the risk of gas leakage. In severe cases, there is a risk of damage to the unit cell, so many improvements are required for practical use.
In order to solve the problems of flat SOFC, the unit cell itself has a flat tube type structure that combines the flat structure and the cylindrical mechanical strength. Has been developed (US 6416897, US 6429051). However, also in this case, a gas channel and an electrical connection material for introducing air or anode gas to the outside of the flat pipe are essentially introduced for lamination. This increases the power density by widening the contact area between the batteries, but due to the nature of the connection material is a metal, there is a problem that thermal stress occurs due to the difference in thermal expansion with the ceramic electrode portion during high temperature operation. In addition, since the use of expensive metal connecting material that does not change the electrical properties even during long-term operation at high temperature, the material price increases, the stack volume and weight also increases.
Recently, in order to solve this problem, the outer surface of the flat tube is etched or the uneven surface is formed during extrusion to create additional external gas channels between the unit cells during lamination, and the electrical connection material is treated with foil to separate metal materials. Unit cells that do not use electrical connection plates have been proposed (Korean Patent 0727684, Korean Patent 0976506). However, such a unit cell may have a torsional phenomenon during the high temperature firing after coating the electrolyte with an asymmetric channel formed on one side, or an additional process such as etching is required, and side effects such as a decrease in mechanical strength due to uneven parts. In addition, the thickness of the electrode coated on the uneven portion has a disadvantage that the efficiency is inferior.
The problem to be solved in the present invention is to solve the problem of mechanical strength reduction due to the irregularities of the support, the unevenness of the electrode coated on the unevenness without the outer surface etching or uneven extrusion process of the flat tubular support, and the use of metal electrical connectors It is to provide a novel integrated unit cell, a method for manufacturing the same, and a stack for a solid oxide fuel cell manufactured using the same, and a method for manufacturing the same, which can secure stability against thermal stress by excluding the same.
In order to solve the above problems, a unit cell having a first gas flow path therein is formed by forming a first electrode layer, an electrolyte layer, an electrical connection layer, and a second electrode layer on an outer surface thereof using a conductive and porous flat tubular support. After manufacturing, using the electrically conductive material on the surface of the electrical connector layer or the surface of the second electrode layer using a conductive material of a certain size and height formed by a physical method to form a distance for the second gas flow channel between the projections. The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a stack for a solid oxide fuel cell having a unitary structure by stacking an integrated unit cell and finally, the integrated unit cell.
In addition, the present invention, after extruding and sintering a flat pipe support having a first gas (fuel or air) channel formed inside a flat pipe having a long rectangular parallelepiped cross section in an extruder, and then in turn on the outer surface of the flat pipe support. A first gas porous electrode layer (first electrode layer); An electrolyte layer of a dense membrane on the entire surface except for the central reaction part on one side; An electrical connection layer of the dense film on the exposed portion of the first electrode layer; After completing the basic unit cell by coating a porous second gas electrode layer (second electrode layer) on the center reaction part of the opposite side, the electrical connector material of the unit cell, or the electrical connector material and the second electrode on the second electrode layer An integral unit cell in which a protrusion having a predetermined cross-sectional area and height formed of ash or a composite material thereof is formed by a method such as screening printing at a predetermined distance, and finally a second gas channel is formed between the protrusions. It provides a method of manufacturing.
In addition, the stack of the present invention is mounted on both ends of the integrated unit cells and stacked up and down, thereby fabricating a rigid stack composed of a ceramic material and having a monolithic structure without a metallic material.

According to another aspect of the present invention, a stack for a solid oxide fuel cell in which a flat tubular support is spaced apart at regular intervals is coated on a lower support at a central portion between the support, a first electrode layer, an electrolyte layer, a conductive spacer, a second electrode layer, An electrical connection layer and a reaction part in which a first electrode layer is sequentially formed on the upper support are formed, both ends are sealed, a first gas flow path is formed into the flat tubular support, and a second gas flow path is formed between the conductive spacers. 3 illustrates a second gas in the
Figure 4 shows the components required to fabricate the stack, when forming a protrusion on the electrical connector layer as a specific example. (A) shows the first electrode
