Description

Apparatus for providing multimedia service in a vehicle {Apparatus for providing multimedia service in vehicle}

The present invention relates to an in-vehicle multimedia service providing apparatus, and more particularly, to an in-vehicle multimedia service providing apparatus mounted on a head unit of a vehicle and a head portion of a rear seat to provide various multimedia application services to all passengers as well as drivers. will be.

The present invention is derived from a study conducted as part of the IT growth engine technology development project of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy [Task management number: 2008-S-007-02, Title: Development of integrated control SW platform for vehicle electronics].

In general, home networking is to establish a network between various information devices in a home. More specifically, home appliances communicate with each other through wired and wireless networks, and externally through the Internet. This means building a viable environment.

That is, the home network service shares resources among home appliances within the home, and accesses the home network using a communication terminal that can be connected to the Internet outside the home, thereby remotely controlling the home appliances connected to the network within the home. Becomes possible.

In addition, the home network service may receive data stored in the home from the outside by accessing the home network from the outside and receiving data stored in a PC or other storage device in the home.

Meanwhile, services are being developed in which users' mobile devices apply traditional mobile communication and wired communication technologies such as USB, Bluetooth, and IrDA.

Recently, a communication function is provided in a vehicle, and a function of interworking with another external terminal, that is, a mobile device of a user, has been attempted. As a result, there is an increasing demand for drivers who want to receive various multimedia services as in a home networking environment even in a car.

In order to solve the above problem, an object of the present invention is to provide a platform system for receiving multimedia services in all seats as well as the head unit device in a vehicle.

Another object of the present invention is to provide an expanded platform system that provides various types of multimedia contents in a vehicle by accessing a home networking environment including the Internet through interworking with a mobile device.

In-vehicle multimedia service providing apparatus according to the present invention for achieving the above object is connected to an external terminal for providing an external terminal and the multimedia service, the head unit for controlling the multimedia data from the external terminal or the external server, And at least one auxiliary head unit disposed in a seat in the vehicle and interlocked with the head unit.

The head unit may provide a multimedia service provided from the external terminal or the external server to the at least one auxiliary head unit.

According to the present invention, the present invention has the advantage that the multimedia service can be provided in all seats as well as the head unit device in the vehicle.

In addition, the present invention is connected to the head unit and a variety of CE (Consumer Electronics) devices in the vehicle, it is possible to download or upload digital content, connected to the mobile multimedia terminal, personal media and video services, as well as portable multimedia devices Communication between the head unit of the vehicle and the car has the advantage that the multimedia data service is possible.

In addition, the present invention can be utilized as a terminal of a home networking terminal, there is an advantage that can enjoy the same multimedia services in a vehicle as in the home environment through a home networking server.

An in-vehicle multimedia service providing apparatus according to the present invention transmits and receives various multimedia data while communicating with a server through a multimedia platform mounted on a head unit in a vehicle, and performs multimedia service in all seats in the vehicle based on the multimedia data. The present invention relates to a multimedia platform system that can be received.

Hereinafter, with reference to the accompanying drawings will be described an embodiment of the present invention.

First, FIG. 1 illustrates a vehicle structure to which an in-vehicle multimedia service providing apparatus according to the present invention is applied.

As shown in FIG. 1, an in-vehicle multimedia service providing apparatus according to the present invention is equipped with a multimedia platform in a head unit provided in a vehicle to transmit and receive multimedia data while performing communication with a server.

In this case, the head unit communicates with the auxiliary head unit provided in the vehicle in addition to the head unit, and provides a multimedia data service.

In FIG. 1, the head unit corresponds to '111', and the auxiliary head unit may be a head unit provided at the rear of the driver's seat and the driver's seat, as shown by '113' and '115'.

Therefore, the head unit transmits the multimedia data received through communication with the server to each of the auxiliary head units, thereby enabling the multimedia service to be provided not only in the driver's seat and the auxiliary seat but also to the occupant in the rear seat.

Therefore, a detailed configuration of the in-vehicle multimedia service providing apparatus according to the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to FIG. 2.

2 is a block diagram referred to describe the configuration of an in-vehicle multimedia service providing apparatus according to the present invention.

As shown in Figure 2, in-vehicle multimedia service providing apparatus according to the present invention

The first head unit 111, which is a head unit, the second head unit 113, which is an auxiliary head unit, and the third head unit 115, a communication module 130 for communicating with the vehicle or the outside, and each part It includes a control unit 120 for controlling the operation.

The first head unit 111 is provided with a multimedia platform system equipped with a platform (eg, WinCE, LINUX, GENIVI, etc.) capable of connecting a home network or a multimedia application.

In addition, the first head unit 111 may be connected to and linked with an external server that provides an external terminal and a multimedia service. The first head unit 111 centrally manages the multimedia service and transmits it to the outside, or transmits it to the second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115.

In this case, the first head unit 111 operates in conjunction with the second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115. At this time, the first head unit 111 transmits the multimedia data received by the communication module 130 to the second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115, together with the first head unit 111. In the second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115, the multimedia data is simultaneously output.

Of course, the first head unit 111 may control the multimedia data only in the first head unit 111, and the second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115 display output information of the multimedia data. You can also send only.

Meanwhile, the first head unit 111 may provide different multimedia services to the second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115 at the request of the second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115. May be provided.

The second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115 are auxiliary head units, which are disposed on the rear of the seat of the vehicle to provide multimedia services to the occupant of the rear seat. Of course, the position at which the second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115 are disposed is not limited to any one, but it is obvious that it can be changed.

In this case, the second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115 include a display device, and output the multimedia data transmitted from the first head unit 111.

Of course, the second head unit 113 and the third head unit 115 may have a predetermined operation unit. Therefore, the occupant may request the multimedia service to the first head unit 111 through the operation unit provided in the second head unit 113 or the third head unit 115.

The controller 120 controls the operations of each sub-unit in the vehicle, and checks the compatibility relationship with the first head unit 111 in order to continuously receive a service by connecting or interworking with a home networking environment.

In addition, the controller 120 performs a home networking environment or a failure diagnosis and a state check of a vehicle which are already established.

In addition, the controller 120 performs a function of upgrading the platform in the first head unit 111 through USB or the Internet.

The communication module 130 provides a communication interface for communicating with the user terminal 500 in the vehicle. In addition, the communication module 130 provides a communication interface for accessing a home network through the Internet.
