With the spread and popularization of digital TVs, users can record and easily play broadcast programs without an external device. In particular, the PVR (Personal video recorder) stores the TV broadcast signal as a digital signal on a hard disk or other storage media, providing an environment that can be replayed at any time as well as in real time.

Unlike conventional analog recorders, the PVR stores TV broadcast signals as digital signals, thereby making it possible to easily play back unwanted scenes, and some PVRs provide a program editing function for deleting unwanted scenes.
