Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a starch straw, and more particularly, to a starch straw that can be made of starch to minimize environmental pollution.
In general, beverage straws used in daily life are made of plastic, which is a consumer product that is mostly thrown away after being used for single use.
In recent years, as environmental problems are seriously raised, it is recommended to refrain from using disposable products such as plastics and vinyls in order to protect the environment. Drinking straws, on the other hand, are generally made of disposable materials using plastic materials. In this case, if the straw is thrown away, it is not preferable in terms of environmental protection, such as it does not rot and pollutes the ground.
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention is to provide a straw for a beverage that can be easily decomposed to prevent environmental pollution.
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a straw made of starch.
The starch straw according to the present invention can be easily decomposed to moisture, thereby minimizing environmental pollution.
Drinking straws according to the invention are prepared using starch or starch instead of plastic.
The inventors of the present invention, in the process of investigating the problems with the existing disposable plastic straws during the disposable product restraint campaign for environmental protection, found that it is beneficial to environmental protection when straws are made using starch.
The straw according to the present invention is environmentally friendly in terms of materials and harmless to the human body because it is manufactured using starch obtained from agricultural products instead of petrochemical products such as polyethylene, which is used as a conventional straw material.
Starch may be suitably used as a general straw since it may be hardened, for example, by starch toothpicks when kneaded in water and dried.
The starch can remain in shape for at least 5 minutes, more specifically, for about 20 minutes, even if it is in contact with the liquid beverage, so there is no problem that the shape changes due to absorption of the beverage during the beverage tasting time. Rather, if the initial hard surface is softened while in contact with the liquid while drinking, such a straw has the advantage that there is no risk of injury to the skin, such as around the mouth by the pointed tip.
Straws according to the present invention can be produced using various molding methods such as extrusion. For example, the straw according to the present invention is a method comprising kneading starch in water to form a blend, extruding the resulting blend into a desired shape using an extruder, and drying the resulting extrudate. It can be manufactured by.
Straws according to the invention can be prepared straws of various colors, if desired, by adding suitable pigments to the formulation.
In addition, the straw according to the present invention, if necessary, by controlling the hardness by incorporating a curing agent in the formulation, it is possible to control the time to decompose by water.
The straw according to the present invention can be produced in various forms as in the conventional plastic straw by the above method. For example, it may be manufactured in a general cylindrical shape, the shape can be adjusted to include a bellows in the middle, or the length is adjusted by the two cylinders are folded or pulled on both sides.
In addition, the straw according to the present invention can be prevented from soil contamination because it becomes nutrients of microorganisms or plants or is easily decomposed by water in the ground even if discarded after use. It can also be recycled because it can be copper, plant feed or nutrients.
Thus, the straw produced using starch according to the present invention is a very useful disposable product from the viewpoint of environmental protection.
