Abstract

A video mute processing apparatus of a television and a method thereof are provided to prevent the unnecessary power consumption by selecting the video mute or muting the video signal of the television. A memory(1) stores a video mute setup of a user. A remote controller receiver(2) receives a signal of a remote controller. A signal processor(4) processes the inputted video signal. In case a video mute processing request is transmitted to the remote control receiver, a microcomputer(6) mutes the video through the signal processor.
