Abstract
The present invention uses the existing display device in the mobile phone, and additionally removable portable display device by using a small display device such as video, video playback, navigation functions, DMB broadcasting, difficult to meet the user's needs It is about how to solve.
In addition, in order to handle the power consumption generated by adding a device, it is possible to include a separate power supply device in the additional device to solve the problem caused by power consumption, by connecting such a portable device to the user desired service It is related to a method for carrying out conveniently.
Description
The present invention requires a technology that supports multiple monitors in a graphics chip or graphics card of a portable terminal and enables such processing in an embedded system processing apparatus. In addition, in order to add a display device to an existing portable terminal system, standards or standardization of data lines and connection methods are required.
The power supply added to the display device may be applied to existing technology using a rechargeable battery, and a button for turning on a separate power may be required for this purpose.
There is a need for the phone to recognize and process it using the input function built into the additional display.
In the case of a general mobile phone, a display device uses a smaller resolution and size than a computer display device, navigation device, or PMP. This is an inevitable choice for convenient portability and use, and the resolution can be improved than currently used, but is not suitable for the user to watch a video or receive a DMB broadcast.
Personal computers have been developed to use dual monitors while using large display devices, and are being used a lot. Nowadays, systems are basically supported in the system.
Nintendo DS, which is a portable device, also uses a dual monitor to provide a user-friendly interface. Some PDAs support dual monitors that are removable, but external monitors are too large to be portable.
As in the above example, mobile phones continue to add functions such as video and video playback, navigation, and DMB broadcasting. However, it is not possible to use a large display for receiving calls, performing functions for making calls, and for convenient portability. This problem causes inconvenience to the user, so that the user burden is increased by purchasing a separate device, and a company making a mobile phone does not provide a system of a type that can properly meet the needs of the user.
In the case of video, video playback, navigation function, and reception of DMB broadcast, it is not a function that the user uses while walking. Currently, people who have navigation or PMP will usually have a cell phone, so they will be able to configure the system and provide services to make it more useful for users.

An object of the present invention is to solve the problem that a small size display device used in a mobile phone cannot provide various services to meet the needs of a user. In addition, the removable display device of the detachable form can effectively provide various types of services to the user, so that the user can be provided with various services with a small burden to the user who used a variety of equipment.
The present invention makes it possible to connect a display device by making a pin port that can be connected to the outside, such as USB to be removable to the mobile phone. In this way, the criteria for pin port settings can be set and standardized. This method will allow a user to purchase a mobile terminal and to purchase a display device separately to use a variety of services at a low price.
In addition, in order to compensate for the power consumed by the display device, a power supply built-in or attachable to the display device is used.
The present invention can be applied to a user to additionally purchase and use a display device as needed when purchasing a mobile phone. The application of the method and the invention will enable mobile phone development companies to effectively provide various types of services to users, and users will be able to receive better services at lower prices.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
As shown in FIG. 1, a portable display device may be additionally connected using a connection line to a mobile phone and using a connection port as shown in FIG. 1.
For this use, there must be a graphics card that can control two display devices in the mobile phone, and the processing device must be able to do this. The Nintendo DS, which is currently available, includes two display devices inside, and in the case of personal computers, the dual monitor is almost standard. CPUs and graphics cards used in mobile phones will also be available in various forms if required.
In supplying power, a power supply device may be added to a display device added in consideration of power consumption as shown in 6 of FIG. 1, and power may be supplied by connecting an external series power supply device. In addition, if the power of the portable terminal is sufficient, the mobile phone power may be used.
User input can be processed using the input device used in the mobile phone, and receives input from additional equipment as needed. Such input may be a button, a touch screen, or a voice input.
If necessary, an output device such as a speaker may be added to additional display equipment that is not shown in the figure of FIG. 1.
Figure 2 shows the configuration of the software when connecting such additional equipment to the mobile phone. In this case, there may be a case where the additional equipment is connected while the power is turned on, and when the power is turned off, the connection may be automatically turned on or turned on by the user. 2 of FIG. 2 is a process of recognizing a device added after being connected by the mobile phone, and FIG. 2 of 3 is a process of driving a device of the mobile phone required to provide a service to a user according to the connected device. The driving of such a device may be a button, a graphic card, a display device of a mobile phone, or the like.
4 and 5 of FIG. 2 mean that various services are provided according to a user's request by using the added portable display device. The user's request can be delivered via input functions in the portable terminal, additional display device, and a separate software task is required for the processing.
Figure 6 of Figure 2 shows that the original function of the mobile phone is in the ready state, and grasps the current state according to the user's request to define the priority to perform the service.
The processing of this software is distinguished from the basic functions of the mobile phone by the additional portable display device. Of course, the same function may be provided to be available through the display device of the mobile phone when the display device is not added. Therefore, when the additional portable display device is not connected to the mobile phone, the service using the additional portable display device when the display device is additionally connected and the content to be processed in the mobile terminal in this case should be processed separately.
To make this process more convenient, it can be classified according to the input device. This method can be effective when the function in the mobile phone is processed by using an input device inside the mobile phone, using a touch screen when using the function of the additional display device, or using an input device used together with the additional display device. . In addition, it may be used considering various processing methods.
This type of processing, as described above, incurs additional hardware costs and requires additional software work, but is needed to provide better service to the user at a lower cost. In this way, various services can be conveniently provided to users in various forms, and at the same time, it can reduce the burden on users who used multiple devices.
