Abstract

A method for selecting a call mode in a portable terminal by using the voice recognition is provided to select the proper calling mode automatically through the conjecture of the surrounding conditions according to the voice level of the user. A control member recognizes the waiting mode of a portable phone(S201). The control member confirms whether a calling mode according to a voice level is set(S203). When a calling mode according to a voice level is set, the control member searches the coincided telephone number from a phone book of a memory member and selects a calling mode according to the inputted voice level(S209). Thereafter, the control member recognizes the selection of telephone number for performing a telephone call by a user and transmits a call to the selected number(S211). Thereafter, the control member confirms the call connection(S213). When connecting the call, a user performs the telephone call with the subscriber of the call connected telephone number(S215).
