The present invention relates to a mobile communication system, and more particularly, to an apparatus and a method for providing quality of service information in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network.

With the rapid development of communication technology, it has reached the stage of providing a high-speed data service capable of providing a general voice service as well as a multimedia service such as an e-mail or a still image as well as a moving image by a portable terminal.

The so-called 3rd generation (3G) mobile communication systems supporting both general voice service and packet service include synchronous CDMA 20001x systems and asynchronous Universal Mobile Telecommunication Systems (UMTS). The third generation mobile communication system as described above provides a multimedia service to a portable terminal through interworking with an IMS network and other networks.

The portable terminal capable of interworking with the IMS network and other networks uses a voice data service in a circuit switch network such as a UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System) (UMTS) and a Global System for Mobile (GSM). In a WLAN environment, a multi-mode portable terminal that can use VoIP services.

The IMS was introduced as a release 5 standard in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), which is a standard research organization of the 3rd generation mobile communication system.

In other words, the IMS is a network for effectively supporting the demand for wireless data and multimedia services in the mobile communication network while supporting the existing voice service as it is.

The process of requesting the service quality information by the portable terminal in the IMS network as described above is the same as the method described below.

The calling mobile terminal to use the IMS service negotiates the quality of service information request with the receiving mobile terminal using a session initiation protocol message.

In this case, the portable terminals can transmit a quality of service requirement using a session description protocol (SDP).

The P-CSCF, which is the contact point of the IMS service, generates a service information using the session description protocol exchanged between the originating portable terminal and the receiving portable terminal and generates a policy / charging function (PCRF). Rule functions).

The policy / charge determination function that receives the service information uses the received service information, the subscriber profile information obtained from the subscriber profile storage unit, and the information included in the request of the GGSN to determine a QoS decision and a charge decision ( Create PCC rules information including charging rules).

Here, the PCC rules information includes information including a type of service authorized to the subscriber provided by the subscriber profile storage unit, service quality information permitted to the subscriber, billing information of the subscriber, and subscriber category, and an application function AF. Information including the IP address, media type and bandwidth of the mobile terminal, application information of the application function, recording information of the application function, and the like, and the IP address of the mobile terminal requested from the GGSN, and subscriber authentication information. It can be generated using the included information.

Thereafter, the policy / billing determination function provides the generated PCC rules information to the GGSN.

Here, the PCC rules may be transmitted using a CC-Answer (CCA) message that includes information including a quality of service class and a maximum bandwidth value for an uplink downlink, and the quality of service class is conversational. (Conversational) service class, streaming service class, interactive service class, and background service class.

The GGSN receiving the PCC rules generates resource allocation and charging information for bearer traffic using the received PCC rules.

However, the above-mentioned mobile communication network allocates resources for session creation using service class information and maximum bandwidth information determined by service information, but does not provide service quality information for a service to be used by a user. .

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for providing service quality information according to a type of service when creating a session in an IMS network.

Another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for providing service quality information using service ID information when creating a session in an IMS network.

Referring to FIG. 1, the service quality management system includes a P-CSCF 112, a Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) 114, and a Subscriber Profile Storage (SPR) 116. ) Can be configured to include

First, the calling mobile terminal 100 to use the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) service is called a receiving mobile terminal using a session initiation protocol message (SIP INVITE) message. Negotiate requests for Quality of Service (QoS) information (not shown).

In this case, the portable terminals may transmit a quality of service requirement using a session description protocol (SDP), and a calling mobile terminal that wants to use the IMS service may use a service (eg, a video call) , Video on demand (VoD), push-to-talk (PTT), and the like.

Table 1 below shows, for example, a session initialization protocol invite message used in a mobile communication system according to the present invention. The session initialization protocol invite message is a sender's portable terminal in a conventional session initialization protocol invite message. May include a service to be used.

INVITE tel: + 1-212-555-2222 SIP / 2.0 Via: SIP / 2.0 / UDP [5555 :: aaa: bbb: ccc: ddd]: 1357; comp = sigcomp; branch = z9hG4bKnashds7 Max-Forwards: 70. . . . Service - Identifier : VoD - Sessison . .

Referring to FIG. 3 (a), the session initialization protocol invite message indicates that the calling portable terminal 100 intends to use an on-demand video service using a service ID.

The P-CSCF 112 generates service information using the session description protocol exchanged between the originating portable terminal 100 and the receiving portable terminal to the policy / charge determination function 114. send.

Here, the service information includes a service ID indicating a service to be used by the calling mobile terminal 100, that is, a Service-Identifier header.

In addition, the P-CSCF 112 may deliver the service information to the policy / charge determination function 114 using an AA-Request (AAR) message through an RX interface defined in 3GPP.

Table 2 below shows the AAR message delivered from the P-CSCF 112 to the policy / charging decision function 114 in accordance with the present invention.

<AA-Request> :: = <Diameter Header: 265, REQ, PXY> <Session-Id> {Auth-Application-Id} {Origin-Host} {Origin-Realm} {Destination-Realm} * [Media-Component -Description] * [Flow-Grouping] [AF-Charging-Identifier] [Service-Identifier] [SIP-Forking-Indication] * [Specific-Action] * [Subscription-ID] * [Proxy-Info] * [Route- Record] * [AVP]

As shown in FIG. 3 (b), the AAR message includes a session ID (Session-Id), a source host name (Origin-Host), a source domain (Origin-Realm), a destination domain (Destination-Realm), and media configuration information. Referring to FIG. 2, the service quality management system 110 first checks whether a service quality providing event occurs in step 201. If the event does not occur, the service quality management system proceeds to step 413 to perform a corresponding function (eg, standby mode).

If the event occurs, the service quality management system 110 proceeds to step 203 and instructs the P-CSCF 112 to generate service information. Here, the P-CSCF 112 received the instruction of the quality of service management system 110 through a session initiation protocol byte (SIP INVITE) message used by portable terminals (called terminal, originating terminal) supporting the IMS service. The type of the service to be used by the calling mobile terminal may be checked and generated by including the type of the checked service (service ID, that is, Service-Identifier header).

In step 205, the service quality management system 110 provides the generated service information to a policy / charging rules function (PCRF) 114.

Thereafter, the service quality management system 110 proceeds to step 207 to instruct the policy / charge determination function 114 to determine quality of service (QoS decision) information and charging rule information.

The policy / charge determination function 114 instructed by the quality of service management system 110 receives the service information received from the P-CSCF 112 and the subscriber profile stored in the subscriber information storage (SPR) 116. Create PCC rules including quality of service (QoS) decision information and charging decision (Charging rules) information.

In operation 209, the quality of service management system 110 transmits the PCC rules to the GGSN for causing a Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) to generate resource allocation and charging information for bearer connection. After the transmission, the algorithm ends.

3 is a diagram illustrating a process of providing quality of service information in a mobile communication system according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to FIG. 3, the portable terminal 301 first performs a service initiation request using a session initiation protocol invite message.

The P-CSCF 303 which has received a service start request from the portable terminal 301 generates service information using the message. Thereafter, the P-CSCF 301 provides the generated service information to a policy and charging rules function (PCRF) 305.

The policy / charge determination function 305 which has received the service information from the P-CSCF 303 receives the subscriber profile from the subscriber information storage 307 and sends it to the packet gateway device (GGSN) 309. A policy / billing decision rule to be provided is generated and the generated policy / billing decision rule is provided to the GGSN.

The GGSN 309 performs resource allocation for bearer connection by using the policy / charging decision rule provided from the policy / charging decision function 305, and then terminates the present algorithm.

Meanwhile, in the detailed description of the present invention, specific embodiments have been described, but various modifications may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. Therefore, the scope of the present invention should not be limited to the described embodiments, but should be determined not only by the scope of the following claims, but also by the equivalents of the claims.

As described above, by including the service ID indicating the type of service to be used by the calling portable terminal as the present invention, the session initiation protocol byte message (SIP INVITE) message, providing the service quality information and billing information according to the service ID It offers the advantage of being able to.
