Abstract

A method for managing digital contents and a mobile terminal using the same are provided to improve user convenience by photographing the peripheral objects and mapping/storing image feature information and content information corresponding to the image feature information in the photographed image in order to play the corresponding digital contents when the same image is input. A mobile terminal(100) for storing digital contents comprises a camera module(110), an image feature extracting part(120), a player(130), a mapping part(140), a storage medium(150), and a content information extracting part(160). The image feature extracting part extracts first image feature information from a first image which is generated from pictures of the peripheral objects. The content information extracting part extracts at least one content information from digital contents corresponding to the first extracted image feature information. The mapping part maps the first extracted image feature information and the content information corresponding to the first extracted image feature information. The storage medium stores the first mapped image feature information and the content information corresponding to the first mapped image feature information.
