A method for providing a broadcasting program guide in a display device and the display device using the method are provided to offer broadcasting guide data reconfigured only with broadcasting items corresponding to editing information which a user selects, thereby enabling the user to receive the broadcasting guide data configured only with broadcasting items corresponding to desired conditions and search and watch a broadcast program corresponding to the desired conditions easily.
