Abstract

An RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) having multiple reader antennas is provided to connect multiple reader antennas to a single RFID reader for identifying an RFID tag by sequentially driving the reader antenna without using multiple RFID readers and reader antennas and save an expense and a space by identifying the RFID tag. A specified leader antenna is connected to a single RFID reader, and the other leader antennas are disconnected(50). The RFID reader is driven(60). A proper ID of an RFID tag is identified through electromagnetic force or electrostatic coupling between the connected reader antenna and the RFID tag(70), and is transmitted to a host computer(80). If all the reader antennas are identified, the RFID reader finishes the previous sequential processes, otherwise the RFID reader continues the processes(90).

4 is a flowchart sequentially starting a plurality of reader antennas according to the present invention.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a reader device for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and more particularly, by connecting a plurality of reader antennas to a single RFID reader to sequentially start these reader antennas and to identify RFID tags from the RFID reader. It relates to an RFID reader device.

Currently, RFID is a technology that reads a unique ID of an RFID tag by using an electromagnetic or electrostatic coupling between the RFID tag and the RFID reader by attaching the RFID tag to the object to be identified to identify the object.

1 is a block diagram showing a system consisting of a single RFID reader according to the prior art. The RFID tag 40 is attached to an object to be identified, and the RFID tag 40 is provided through electromagnetic or electrostatic coupling between the RFID tag 40 and the reader antenna 30 embedded in or separately connected to the RFID reader 30. The unique ID of is read by the RFID reader 20 and transmitted to the host computer 10.

On the other hand, in RFID applications, a reader antenna may be used as a reference position, and it may be necessary to identify whether a specific object exists or a unique ID of an existing object. In this case, RFID readers and reader antennas are needed as many reference positions as necessary. 2 is a configuration diagram showing a system consisting of a plurality of RFID readers according to the prior art. The unique ID of the RFID tag 40 is transmitted to the host computer 10 through the RFID reader 20 through an electromagnetic or electrostatic coupling between the reader antenna 30 corresponding to the reference position and the RFID tag 40. However, in the system of a plurality of RFID readers according to the prior art, a plurality of RFID readers are required, resulting in waste of cost, space, and resources.

In order to solve the problems of the prior art, an object of the present invention is to connect a plurality of reader antennas corresponding to positions where an object to be identified may exist to a single RFID reader to sequentially start the reader antennas, and to read the RFID tag from the RFID reader. To provide an RFID reader device for identifying the.

3 is a block diagram showing a system consisting of a single RFID reader and a plurality of reader antennas according to the present invention. As many reader antennas 30 as necessary are connected to a single RFID reader 30 and sequentially started. The unique ID of the RFID tag 40 is transmitted to the host computer 10 via the RFID reader 20 via electromagnetic or electrostatic coupling between the reader antenna 30 and the RFID tag 40.

(90).4 is a flowchart of sequentially starting a plurality of reader antennas according to the present invention. First, only the corresponding reader antenna 30 is connected among the plurality of reader antennas 30, and the remaining reader antennas 30 are disconnected (50). By starting the RFID reader 20 (60), a unique ID of the RFID tag 40 is identified (70) through electromagnetic or electrostatic coupling between the connected reader antenna 30 and the RFID tag 40, Is sent to the host computer 10 (80). If all the reader antennas 30 have been performed, the sequential start is terminated, and if the reader antennas 30 which have not been performed remain, the execution of the next reader antenna 30 is continued (90).

As described above, in the present invention, a plurality of RFID readers and a plurality of reader antennas are used instead of using a plurality of RFID readers and a plurality of reader antennas, for example, to identify whether a specific object exists at a plurality of reader antenna positions or to identify a unique ID of an existing object. By connecting reader antennas to a single RFID reader, starting these reader antennas sequentially, and identifying RFID tags from RFID readers, there is an effect of saving cost, space, and resources.
