Abstract

An image processing apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to recognize the connection state of plural external devices and whether an image signal is inputted through an OSD(On Screen Display) menu, improving user's convenience. An image processing apparatus comprises plural input terminals(10a-10d), a sync signal detector(12), an image processor(14) and a control unit(17). The plural input terminals are connected to plural external devices for outputting image signals including sync signals. The sync signal detector detects the sync signals of the image signals. The image processor performs the image processing of the image signals. The control unit controls the image processor to display a result about whether to input the image signals according to whether the sync signal is detected.
