Abstract

A quality information request method of a session-based program user located in a differentiated QoS(Quality of Service) supply network is provided to develop IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem)-based software suitable for various quality supply networks even in the differentiated QoS supply network and in a WCDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) network. An IMS-based software user transmits a call setup request message 'INVITE' to an IMS server by using an IMS module(10). If a response message '183' is received, the IMS module(10) extracts SDP information of the response message to convert the extracted information into a user quality demand message. The user quality demand message is transmitted to an edge router of a differentiated QoS supply network, and a message 'PRACK' indicative of arrival of the response message is transmitted to the IMS server. A message for recording information on quality supply availability is received from the edge router.
