Abstract

A method for editing an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) menu of a digital television is provided to change a default EPG menu into an EPG menu desired by a user by allowing the user to edit an area of the default EPG menu by desired fonts, images and colors. When a memory card(70) is mounted on a CI(Common Interface) slot(60) of a digital television, graphic data is automatically downloaded. The downloaded graphic data is selected with default EPG data(80) in a multiplexer(40) and the selected data is executed in an EPG program. The graphic data is processed in an MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) decoder processor(20) by an instruction of a user and an EPG menu on a screen is edited. The memory card stores the graphic data selected by a user.
