An apparatus and a method for reproducing an audio/video file by using a book with a printed bar code are provided to easily and quickly reproduce the audio/video file corresponding to the bar code on the book, and easily reproduce a book-marked portion in an audio/video file reproducing apparatus. A bar code is read from a book so that the bar code is sensed(51). The read bar code is analyzed and information of the book is obtained and thus the bar code is decoded(52). An audio/video file which corresponds to a key code included in the information of the book and forms digital contents is detected(53). The detected audio/video file is reproduced(54). After the bar code is decoded, it is decided whether to perform book-marking, and the information of the book and book-marking time are stored in a storing part if the book-marking is performed.
