Abstract

A method for inputting characters in an image display device is provided to display a character table where plural characters are arranged in 2D type, provide a label for selecting the characters in a row and a column of the character table and input a character corresponding to a selected label when the label is selected from the displayed character table so that a user can more easily and conveniently input the characters. A method for inputting characters in an image display device comprises the following steps of: displaying a character table where plural characters are arranged in 2D type when inputting the characters on an OSD(On Screen Display) of the image display device(S20); providing a label, for selecting the characters, in a row and a column of the character table; and inputting a character corresponding to a selected label when the label is selected from the displayed character table(S30,S40).
