Abstract

An electrodeless lighting system having a variable output function is provided to control brightness according to a surrounding lighting environment by adjusting an amount of current flowing in a magnetron. An electrodeless lighting system includes a magnetron installed in a casing for generating electromagnetic waves, a high-voltage generating unit applying a current of high voltage to the magnetron, a plasma lighting bulb(5) filled with a phosphor which is exited by the electromagnetic waves to emit visible rays, and a resonator(6) accommodating the plasma lighting bulb and shielding the electromagnetic waves and transmitting light. An amount of the current supplied to the magnetron is adjusted to optionally control the brightness.
