Description
The present invention relates to a composition for treating a herpes infection, comprising a decoxin and / or a decosinol angelate, or a Angelica extract comprising the decosin and / or decosinol angelate as an active ingredient.
Herpesviruses are DNA viruses belonging to relatively large sizes of 100 to 200 nm. Diseases caused by herpesvirus infection (or simply referred to as herpes) generally refer to herpes simplex (H. simplex) and shingles (H. zoaster).
Herpes simplex is caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
As a disease, small blisters occur in one or two places of swelling, and small blisters occur around the lips and are often popped. It can occur not only around the lips but also on any part of the skin, and recurs in the same place.
Other forms of herpes simplex are genital, often recurrent genital herpes, considered a type of sexually transmitted disease.
Herpes zoster is caused by the varicella-zoster virus and is characterized by very pain, unlike herpes zoster. 1 to 2 weeks before the blisters develop, the area begins to hurt, and over time, small blisters form a cluster, and band-shaped blisters occur only on the skin where the strands are distributed.
The causative organism is varicella, which remains in the body of a person who has had chickenpox as a child, especially in elderly people, cancer patients with poor immune function, chronic wasting disease, and very tired people. The scab develops gradually and gradually improves, but pain remains even when blisters are lost, severe pain may continue for months or years, especially in elderly people with weakness, like neuralgia This is often the case, so early treatment is important.
If shingles occur along the facial nerve, facial nerve palsy may develop, and if it occurs in the eye, keratitis and severe vision may be lost. More common complications include pain from neuralgia for months to years. This is a continuing case, especially in elderly patients, which degrades the quality of life.
Herpes simplex relies on symptomatic therapy because no drug has been developed that can completely cure the virus. As early as possible, antiviral drugs are taken to reduce the severity and duration of the illness, and then antimicrobial or secondary antibiotics are used depending on the symptoms.
In the case of shingles, the treatment of injections of antiviral drugs for about one week within three to five days of blisters is standard. However, unlike herpes zoster, pain management is inevitable. Prevention is important above all. However, the pain may continue after the injection treatment in the case of late treatment, old age, cancer, AIDS, etc., and may last for more than a year in some cases.
As mentioned above, although herpes infection is caused by a virus, it is true that the effects of current antiviral agents are insufficient, and there is a fear of various complications or side effects. In the case of symptomatic therapy, the general treatment of skin blisters, itching, and pain has remained. Therefore, clinicians have been questioning whether they properly cope with the characteristic symptoms of herpes. Stronger pain management (such as narcotic analgesics) and the use of corticosteroids are being made, but as is well known, the side effects of these drugs are insignificant. In addition, antiviral agents such as acyclovir, which are used at the beginning, are known to exert almost all drugs through the kidneys to burden the kidneys, and have limited effects and various side effects of reluctant use of such drugs. Therefore, there is a need for a herpes infection for treating herpes infections, itching, pain, and less side effects.
Pharmacological action of decursin, decursinol angelate, decurcinol, and / or two or more species of Angelica gigas, which are the main components of Angelica gigas Nakai Many studies have been conducted on the disease, which is effective for leukemia cancer cells (Patent Publication No. 2001-0080265), for analgesic activity (Patent No. 10-0397950), for lung cancer, liver cancer, etc. (Patent registration notification) 10-0187881) and neuroprotective action (Patent Publication No. 2002-0078850).
