The present invention relates to a refrigerator, and to a refrigerator having a damper for opening and closing a cold air supply passage.

In general, the main body of the refrigerator is provided with a freezer compartment and a refrigerating compartment partitioned by an intermediate partition, and each of the freezer compartment and the refrigerating compartment is hinged to the main body is provided with a door for opening and closing the freezer compartment and the refrigerating compartment. An inner wall of the freezer compartment is provided with an evaporator and a fan for generating cold air and supplying it into the freezer compartment.

There is also another evaporator and fan on the inner wall of the refrigerating compartment for generating cold air and supplying it into the refrigerating compartment. Another structure of the refrigerator may include a refrigerator having a damper instead of a fan in the refrigerator compartment to control cold air in the refrigerator compartment.

In other words, the cold air of the freezer compartment is supplied to the refrigerating chamber through a damper to cool the refrigerating compartment, and the temperature of the refrigerating chamber is controlled by adjusting the amount of cold air through the damper.

Since the cold air is supplied through the damper, as the cooling operation proceeds, the damper may freeze and may not operate normally. Therefore, countermeasures are required.

The refrigerator according to the present invention has an object to be able to easily and accurately determine whether the heater for preventing the damper freezing.

The refrigerator according to the present invention for this purpose has a damper for opening and closing the cold air passage between the freezer compartment and the refrigerating compartment, a heater to prevent freezing of the damper by being supplied with power at one end, and a resistance connected between the other end of the heater and the ground And a controller for detecting whether the heater is disconnected by detecting a voltage across the resistor.

The preferred embodiment of the present invention thus made will be described with reference to FIG. 1 as follows. 1 is a view showing a circuit configuration of a refrigerator according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the damper 100 is provided with a stepping motor 102 for driving the damper 100 and a heater 104 for heating the damper 100 to prevent freezing.

The stepping motor 102 is controlled and driven by the controller 15 and the stepping motor driver 154 to adjust the degree of opening and closing of the damper 100. The heater 104 is connected to a power supply unit 172 at one end thereof to supply power, and the other end of the heater 104 is grounded through the resistor 170. Accordingly, when the power supply unit 172, the heater 104, and the resistor 170 maintain a normal electrical connection state, a predetermined voltage determined by the resistance value of the heater 104 and the resistance value of the resistor 170 may be a resistance. The voltage across the resistor 170 will be 0V when the electrical connection relationship of the heater 104 is not normal, that is, when disconnection occurs.

The controller 152 may check whether the heater 104 is disconnected by changing the voltage across the resistor 170. That is, when a predetermined voltage determined by the resistance value of the heater 104 and the resistance value of the resistor 170 appears at both ends of the resistor 170, it is determined that the electrical connection relationship of the heater 104 is normally established, and the resistance is reversed. If the voltage at both ends reaches 0V, it is determined that the electrical connection relationship of the heater 104 is not normal.

The circuit composed of the resistor 168, the zener diode 166, and the capacitor 164 is a protection circuit for preventing an overvoltage from being applied to the controller 152. The circuit composed of the resistors 158, 160, and 162 is also a controller ( 152 is an input protection circuit.

The inverter 156 connected between the contact point of the heater 104 and the resistor 170 and the controller 152 is for distinguishing between the heater inspection mode of the refrigerator and the normal cooling operation mode. That is, in the heater test mode, the control unit 152 electrically opens the input terminal of the inverter 156 so as not to have any electrical effect on the contact between the heater 104 and the resistor 170, thereby providing both ends of the resistor 170. The predetermined voltage determined by the resistance value of the heater 104 and the resistance value of the resistor 170 is displayed. On the contrary, in the normal cooling operation mode, the controller 152 outputs a high level signal to the input terminal of the inverter 156 so that the low level (ground level) signal is output from the inverter 156, thereby providing a resistance to the heater 104. The contacts between the 170 may be at the ground level to normally drive the heater 104 without receiving the nutrition of the resistor 170.

As described above, the refrigerator according to the present invention enables easy and accurate confirmation of a failure of the damper anti-icing heater.
