PURPOSE: A method for selectively filtering regional information transferred to a set-top box for a digital TV with a zip code is provided to enable a user to easily and selectively receive the received regional information by filtering the regional information received to the set-top box with the zip code. CONSTITUTION: It is checked that the information received to the set-top box(1) is related to a specified region. In case of the information related to the specified region, an object region is extracted from the information. It is checked that the object region is matched with the zip code stored in a memory(102) of the set-top box.
