Abstract
According to a feature of the present invention, a battery pack manufactured using a lithium ion or lithium polymer battery cell is generally made through a series connection structure of the required number of batteries to make the target voltage. The battery pack so made must be charged to the correct charging voltage. Insufficient charging voltage may result in undercharging, which may prevent you from using sufficient battery capacity, and overcharging may endanger the battery. In order to charge different battery packs made in such a different series structure, a proper charging voltage must be supplied. However, the conventional method had to select a corresponding charger. However, the designed lithium-ion multi-battery charger automatically recognizes the lithium-ion multi-battery charging voltage. And the charger that checks the corresponding charging voltage through the decision process and converts the charging voltage accordingly to charge the battery. The battery used in the electric bicycle is rated at 36 volts and 48 volts. The battery with the voltage can be charged safely and accurately.
Description
The present invention relates to a lithium ion or lithium polymer multi-battery charger, and more specifically, to charge a battery using a lithium ion cell or a lithium polymer, the charging voltage corresponding to a battery rated at 36 V and a battery rated at 48 V is converted to a single charger. The present invention relates to a rechargeable lithium ion multi-battery charger.
In general, a lithium ion or lithium polymer charger must be charged at a charging voltage that matches the voltage of the object to be charged, that is, the combination of lithium ion cells. Therefore, the battery charger had to be selected and used for the cell. For example, battery packs used in general electric bicycles are mainly made up of 36 volts and 48 volts. In this case, for 36 volts, the charger must meet the charging voltage of 42.0 volts. The dragon must use a 54.6 volt charger for its charge voltage. But whether it's rated at 36 volts or rated at 48 volts, it's much easier to use and easier to supply if the charger can be charged at the appropriate charging voltage.
The present invention is to solve the inconvenience of using the charger according to the battery voltage as described above, and to provide a lithium ion multi-battery charger that can be charged by one charger, whether the battery rating is 36V or 48V.
The object of the present invention, which was devised to solve the above problems, is to provide a single battery regardless of the different charging voltages for charging two types of batteries, rated at 36 volts and rated at 48 volts, using lithium ion or lithium polymer battery cells. This is to enable the charger with multi battery charger.
배터리 팩에 사용되는 배터리는 주로 리튬 이온 혹은 리튬 폴리머 배터리를 사용하고 있으며 그 리튬 이온 혹은 리튬 폴리머 배터리를 필요에 따라 직병렬 구조로 구성하여 스폿 용접을 통해 하나의 팩으로 구성되며 충전 보호와 방전 보호를 위하여 BMS(battery management system) 혹은 PCM(Protection circuit module)을 연결하여 보호 기능을 추가한다.(도1)The battery used in the battery pack mainly uses lithium-ion or lithium polymer batteries, and the lithium-ion or lithium polymer batteries are configured in a series or parallel structure as needed, and are formed in one pack through spot welding. For this purpose, a battery management system (BMS) or PCM (Protection circuit module) is connected to add a protection function (Fig. 1).
With this structure, a battery for 36 volts or a 48 volts, which is used for general electric bicycles, is manufactured and used. The charging voltage for each lithium ion battery pack is charged at 42.0 volts for a 36 volt battery. The 48 volt battery should be charged to 54.6 volts. The charging specifications of the rated 36 volt 48 volt battery pack are shown in (Table 1).
As described above, different chargers have to be used due to different charging voltages due to different battery cell configurations.
The lithium ion or lithium polymer multi battery charger checks the charging voltage through an automatic recognition process according to the number of battery cells and supplies a charging voltage corresponding thereto.
In order to achieve the above object, a lithium ion multi-battery charge voltage automatic recognition and determination process of the present invention will be described in detail.
