Abstract
A test for smoking cessation using saliva is started. The smoking test apparatus comprises an indicator for detecting cotinine; A moisture absorption rod connected to the indicator and absorbing saliva of the subject; A case for accommodating the indicator; And a guide cover attached to the upper end of the case. Accordingly, it is possible to provide an accurate and quick smoking test machine which can be usefully used in schools, homes, insurance companies, health examination rooms, etc. by integrating and simplifying saliva collection and diagnosis functions.
Description
The present invention relates to a smoking test machine using saliva, and more particularly to a smoking test machine capable of detecting cotinine from a saliva of a subject to judge whether or not to smoke.
The health damage caused by smoking is very serious both at home and abroad. The fact that inhaled tobacco smoke is a major environmental carcinogen has been demonstrated in several epidemiological studies, for example, the incidence of lung cancer has been reported to be 10 times higher in male smokers than in nonsmokers.
It is found that about 30% to 40% of the cancer in the current population is cancer (lung, oral cavity, esophagus, kidney, bladder, pancreas) caused by tobacco. Other diseases such as heart disease, respiratory diseases such as chronic bronchitis, various complications of pregnancy, and peptic ulcer diseases, which are represented by coronary artery disease, are known to be related to smoking.
The detoxification of these cigarettes is more serious for adolescents because all the cells and tissues are weak because the adolescent has not yet completed physical development.
Accurate understanding of smoking status is very important in studies related to smoking and smoking cessation or in patient care. There may be a variety of ways to identify smoking. Among them, self-report of the questionnaire method is low in reliability, and it is important to identify the smoking status through examination of specific components.
Smoking status can be measured by detecting components or metabolites of tobacco smoke in body fluids such as urine, blood, saliva, and sweat, and biochemical indicators such as thiocyanate, nicotine, cotinine, and carboxyhemoglobin.
Nicotine is the most specific indicator of cigarette smoking in theory, but it is inadequate to detect chronic exposure to smoking because of its short half-life. Therefore, the most accurate method for measuring the degree of smoking is to measure the nicotine metabolite, cotinine, in blood, urine, saliva, and the like.
Cotinine has a long biological half-life (about 19 to 24 hours) and is found in a variety of body fluids, including blood, saliva, urine, milk, and semen. The concentration of cotinine in the urine or saliva ranges from 3 to 7 days, which is the time taken for the heavy smoker to quit smoking to below 10 ng / ml, depending on the initial concentration. Therefore, measurement of cotinine concentration in urine or saliva is a good indicator of smoking within approximately one week.
However, if you want to measure the cotinine in the urine, it can be troublesome to go to the toilet and human rights issue, and since smoking is not defined as a disease, there is a problem that can not be enforced. Furthermore, there is a possibility that the subject may change or manipulate the specimen.
Therefore, a technique for measuring cotinine simply through saliva and judging whether or not to use it is required.
The present invention was conceived to solve the above-mentioned problems. The purpose of the present invention is to integrate and simplify saliva collection and diagnosis functions, and to provide accurate, accurate, and reliable medical images that can be usefully used in schools, homes, insurance companies, And to provide a quick test of smoking.
To achieve the above object, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a smoking test apparatus using saliva comprises an indicator for detecting cotinine; A moisture absorption rod connected to the indicator and absorbing saliva of the subject; A case for accommodating the indicator; And a guide cover attached to the upper end of the case.
The moisture-absorbing rod is divided into a receiving part connected to the indicator and an exposed part accommodated in the case and exposed to the outside, and the exposed part can contact the oral cavity of the subject to absorb the saliva.
In addition, the smoking test apparatus using the saliva according to the present embodiment may further include a case lid for preventing humidification of the moisture absorbing rod, wherein the case has bent portions at both ends, The case is divided into a head portion having a reduced width and a receiving portion for receiving the indicator and a body portion for receiving the indicator, and the case lid can be coupled to one side of the case to receive the exposed portion and the head portion.
The case lid may include a friction member protruding into the case, and may be fixed by the friction member when engaged with the case.
In addition, the case lid may chamfer the peripheral rim of the opened one surface to facilitate the insertion of the hygroscopic rod and the head.
In addition, the case may be configured to receive the indicator and be open at one side thereof, and the guide cover may be formed in the form of a stickable sticker and attached to the open side, wherein the change of the indicator is confirmed by a user The transparent portion may be formed of a transparent material.
In addition, the case may be provided with a receiving groove for receiving the indicator.
The case is divided into two parts, the part being bent at both ends and having a reduced width with respect to the bent part, and a head part in which the receiving part is received and a body part in which the indicator is received, And a wing portion attached to the opened one face of the head portion and extending in the vertical direction in the longitudinal direction, wherein the wing portion is attached in the form of wrapping the outer peripheral face of the head portion, have.
In addition, the guide cover may display judgment information on the result of the change of the indicator to help the user determine whether or not the subject is smoking.
Accordingly, it is possible to provide an accurate and quick smoking test machine which can be used in schools, homes, insurance companies, health examination rooms, etc. by integrating and simplifying saliva collection and diagnosis functions.
