Description

Cable Protection Cap {Cable Protection Cap}

The present invention relates to a cable protection cap, and more particularly, to a cable protection cap capable of protecting a cable from various kinds of falling objects, moisture, and foreign matter, and particularly protecting a cable in the event of a fire.

Various types of cables are used for communication and power supply. These cables are laid horizontally, underground, or along the ceiling of a building, and their outer surfaces are covered with insulating material such as resin or paper.

It is important that the above-mentioned cable should be protected by external force or falling objects during its installation and protected from flames in the event of fire.

To this end, the present applicant filed and filed a patent application for a cable protective cap shown in Figs. 1 and 2 as a utility model application No. 20-2004-24881.

The conventional cable protection cap shown in FIG. 1 includes a main body 10 having an arc-shaped cross section so as to cover an upper side of a cable C and a fastening means for fastening both ends of the main body 10.

The main body 10 has a sufficient arc length (L) to cover and protect the upper side as well as the side surface of the cable (C).

The fastening means includes a plurality of toggle clamps 20 which are fastened to one end of the main body 10 and fastened to the fastening claws 20a And a fixing claw portion 20b fixed to the other end of the main body 10. [

The toggle clamp 20 fixes the main body 10 in a state where the main body 10 covers the upper surface of the cable C by fastening both ends of the main body 10. [

On the other hand, in the conventional cable protection cap shown in Fig. 2, the fastening means is constituted by the fastening band 22.

The fastening band 22 is made of metal or synthetic resin, and has a plurality of wedge-shaped fastening hooks 22a at one end and a plurality of fastening holes 22b at the other end.

The conventional cable protection cap shown in Figs. 1 and 2 has an advantage that the cable C can be protected from various kinds of falling objects, moisture and foreign matter.

However, the conventional cable protection cap has the following problems.

First, although the conventional cable protection cap can prevent the cable from being damaged from falling objects, it can not effectively cope with a fire.

That is, since the conventional cable protection cap is made of a resin material, the surface is easily damaged and is vulnerable to fire.

Secondly, there is a problem that the conventional cable protection cap is detached because of a weak fixing force of the fastening means.

First, since the toggle clamp shown in Fig. 1 can be used only for a cable having a certain thickness, there is a problem that it is difficult to use the cable when the thickness of the cable changes.

Also, although the fastening band shown in FIG. 2 can be used for cables of various thicknesses, there is a problem that it is difficult for the fastening band to adhere perfectly to the protective cap.

As a result, it has been pointed out that the fastening band is loosened and separated.

It is an object of the present invention to prevent the cable from being damaged from falling objects and to prevent damage of the cable protection cap itself and to prevent damage to the cable from the flame And to protect the cables.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a cable which can be used universally for cables of various thicknesses, and to prevent loosening or detachment of the fastening band.

Another object of the present invention is to facilitate identification of the cable protection cap in the underground.

It is another object of the present invention to provide for a continuous and easy coupling of a plurality of cable protection caps.

In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a cable connector comprising: a body having an arcuate cross-section so as to cover an upper surface of the cable; and a fastening band for fastening the body in the circumferential direction so as to be fixed to the cable The cable protection cap according to claim 1, wherein the fastening band comprises an arc-shaped fastening band body, a worm provided at one end of the fastening band body, a tool groove formed at one end of the worm to rotate the worm, A worm cover covering the worm and a plurality of worm engagement holes provided at the other end of the wrist to engage with the thread portion of the worm, Is formed in a circumferential direction.

Further, the worm-fitting hole is formed so as to be inclined so as to be equal to the thread direction of the worm.

Further, a flame retardant resin is applied to the surface of the main body, and the fastening band is fastened to the main body after inserting the flame-retardant tube.

Further, a coloring matter is added to the flame-retardant resin applied to the surface of the body, or a flame-retardant resin is applied to the surface of the body, and then the fluorescent substance is further applied.

A first concave portion and a first convex portion are formed at one end of the main body, a second concave portion at which the first convex portion is fitted and a second convex portion that is seated at the first concave portion are formed at the other end of the main body And a fastening band mounting groove is provided on the outside of the second concave portion and the second convex portion.

According to the present invention, the flame retardant resin is applied to the surface of the cable protection cap to protect the cable from falling objects, moisture, foreign matter, and the like, and particularly, the cable can be protected from the flame when a fire occurs.

Further, since the fastening band is fastened in the state of being fitted in the flame retardant tube, the fastening band can be protected from fire.

In addition, there is an effect that it can be universally used for cables of various thicknesses.

In addition, by forming the mounting groove so that the fastening band is seated on the surface of the cable protection cap, the fastening band can be firmly brought into close contact with the surface of the cable protection cap.

Further, since the cable protection cap is provided with the coupling portion formed by the concave portion and the convex portion at both ends of the cable protection cap, a plurality of cable protection caps can be easily and continuously assembled.

7 is an enlarged cross-sectional view showing a connecting portion of the cable protection cap according to the present invention.

Hereinafter, preferred embodiments according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 3 to 7. FIG.

3, the cable protection cap according to the present invention includes a main body 10 having an arc-shaped cross section so as to cover an upper surface of a cable C, And a fastening band 30 for fastening the main body 10 in the circumferential direction so as to be fixed to the main body 10.

4 and 5, the fastening band 30 includes an arc-shaped fastening band body 32, a worm 34 provided at one end of the fastening band body 32, A tool cover 36 formed at one end of the worm 34 to rotate the worm 34 and a worm cover 37 covering the worm 34; And a plurality of worm engagement holes 38 formed in the worm 34 to be engaged with the threads of the worm 34.

A plurality of fastening band seating grooves 12 are formed on the surface of the main body 10 in the circumferential direction so that the fastening bands 30 are seated.

Accordingly, the fastening band 30 is fixedly secured to the main body 10 and can be prevented from being separated.

On the other hand, the fastening band body 32 is made of a synthetic resin or a metal material, and a flame-retardant tube 40 is fitted to the outside of the fastening band body 32.

That is, as shown in FIG. 4, the fastening band 30 is fastened to the fastening band seating groove 12 after the flame retardant tube 40 is fitted.

It is preferable that the flame retardant tube 40 is provided over the entire region of the fastening band body 32 where the worm engagement holes 38 are not formed.

The worm engagement hole 38 is formed to be inclined so as to be equal to the thread direction of the worm 34.

Accordingly, the fastening band 30 can be firmly fastened to the main body 10 because the worm 34 and the worm fitting hole 38 are firmly coupled to each other.

A flame retardant resin is applied to the surface of the main body 10 by 2 to 3 mm. Thus, it is possible to effectively protect the cable (C) from the flame when a fire occurs.

Further, it is preferable that a pigment is added to the flame-retardant resin applied to the surface of the main body 10.

For example, when a yellow dye is added to the flame retardant resin, the position of the cable protection cap can be easily identified even underground.

Further, when the flame retardant resin is applied to the main body 10 and the fluorescent material is further applied thereto, the cable protection cap can be easily identified.

6 and 7, a first concave portion 14 and a first convex portion 15 are formed at one end of the main body 10, and at the other end of the main body 10, A second concave portion 16 in which the first convex portion 15 is fitted and a second convex portion 17 which is seated in the first concave portion 14 are formed.

A fastening band seating groove 12 is formed on the outside of the second concave portion 16 and the second convex portion 17.

With the above configuration, as shown in Fig. 7, two cable protection caps can be continuously and easily combined.

Further, since the fastening bands 30 are fastened to the outside of the two cable protection cap connection portions, the connection portions of the cable protection cap can be firmly fixed.

Hereinafter, the effects of the present invention will be described.

First, the arcuate body 10 is positioned above the cable C to be protected.

The flameproof tube 40 is inserted into the fastening band 30 and the fastening band 30 is seated in the fastening band seating groove 12 formed in the main body 10.

One end of the fastening band 30 in which the worm coupling hole 38 is formed is inserted into the lower gap of the worm 34 to couple the worm 34 and the worm coupling hole 38 together.

Then, a tool such as a screwdriver is inserted into the tool groove 36 formed at one end of the worm 34 to rotate the worm 34. At this time, if the major tool is used, the worm 34 can be rotated more easily.

When the worm 34 is rotated, the worm engagement hole 38 is moved along the worm thread direction, so that the fastening band 30 is tightened. When the fastening band 30 is tightly fastened, the tightening of the fastening band 30 is completed.

6, the first concave portion 14 and the first convex portion 15 provided at one end of the cable protective cap are connected to the first and second convex portions 15, After the first and second concave portions 16 and 17 are arranged to be coupled to each other, the above process can be repeated.

The first concave portion 14 and the second convex portion 17 have a shape corresponding to each other and the first convex portion 15 and the second concave portion 16 also have shapes corresponding to each other.

This makes it possible to easily and continuously connect a plurality of cable protection caps.

Also, as shown in FIG. 7, since the fastening band 30 is fastened to the outside of the two cable protection cap coupling portions, the cable protection cap connection portions can be firmly fastened.

According to the conventional cable protection cap, there is a problem that the fastening band can not be stably fixed and can be detached, and the cable can not be effectively protected in the event of a fire.

However, according to the present invention, since the fastening band is firmly assembled by the combination of the worm and worm engagement holes and the fastening band seating groove is formed on the surface of the body, the fastening band is not moved or released.

Further, by applying a flame retardant resin to the surface of the cable protection cap, it is possible to protect the cable from falling objects, moisture, and foreign matter, and particularly to protect the cable from the flame when a fire occurs.

Also, the fastening band is fastened to the main body in a state of being fitted in the flame retardant tube, so that the cable can be safely protected in the event of a fire.

Further, since both end portions of the cable protection cap are configured differently and can be continuously fitted, a plurality of cable protection caps can be assembled continuously and easily.

While the present invention has been described with reference to exemplary embodiments, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed exemplary embodiments. It will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
