본 고안은 주로 가스 또는 증기지역, 화학약품이 사용되는 장소 및 정유시설이나 가스 정제시설 등 인화성 물질을 취급 항시 폭발 및 화재의 위험이 상존하는 지역에서 이용되는 전기 에너지를 필요로 하는 각종 기기들의 전원 케이블, 전기스위치 및 스위치박스, 컨넥터 등)의 라인에 연결되어 절연 기능을 하므로써 각종 전기기에 낙뇌와 같은 돌입되는 전기를 방지하여 전기기의 오동작과 파손을 방지할 수 있고,내부폭발 시 화염전파를 방지 할 수 있는방폭용 절연 유니온에 관한 고안이다.
방폭용 절연 유니온은 기기에 고정되는 고정부재와 고정부재에 연결되는 연경부재와 이들을 고정시키는 나사캡으로 구성되며 연결부재는 하부 부재와 상부 부재로 분할 구성하여 절연부재 접착면을 구비시키며 하부부재와 상부부재 사이에 접착고정되는 절연부재는 하부와 상부에 접착면이 구비되고 내면 중앙에는 보강 절연부가 구비된다.
