Abstract
Disclosed is a shank that can reduce manufacturing costs without being harmful to the human body. The shank according to the present invention is made of a metal core part provided in a pipe shape, and a synthetic resin sheath part surrounding the outer circumference of the core part, so that the manufacturing cost is reduced compared to the conventional shank as a metal material. The present invention relates to a shank, and more particularly to a shank installed in the external connection of the various water pipes in the building.
Shank is a connecting part that allows easy installation of hot and cold water faucets, sinks, showers, etc. in the indoor piping installed in the side wall of the building. Since these shanks are always in contact with water, their physical properties do not change even after prolonged use and are made of brass with excellent processability.
However, brass contains about 1-9 wt% of lead in addition to copper and zinc, which are the main raw materials, and lead was eluted with tap water. In the past, there have been few restrictions on the amount of lead leaching, but in recent years, its harmfulness has been proved to strongly regulate lead leaching. Therefore, a technology that can be replaced with a metal material of a different composition that does not use lead is being developed one after another, but the manufacturing cost is relatively high. In addition, the shank of such a metal material is sensitive to temperature changes, which is the main cause of freezing in winter.
The present invention is to solve the above problems, the object of the present invention is to provide a shank that can reduce the manufacturing cost without being harmful to the human body.
The shank according to the present invention for achieving the above object consists of a core part of a metal material provided in a pipe shape, and a sheath part of a synthetic resin material surrounding the outer circumference of the core part.
In addition, the core portion is made of copper or stainless material, the sheath portion is made of ABS resin.
In addition, chromium plating may be performed on the outside of the sheath portion.
Hereinafter, a shank according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
1 and 2 are a perspective view and a cross-sectional view showing a shank according to the present invention. As shown, the shank of the present invention consists of a
In addition, although not shown in the drawing, the surface of the
Here, in the present embodiment, the outside illustrated a stepped shank having a large diameter and a small diameter, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and the inside or the outside may be applied to the stepped shank as well as the outside through appropriate deformation and modification. Of course.
As described in detail above, the shank according to the present invention, the inner core portion is made of a metal material, the outer sheath is made of a synthetic resin material has the effect of reducing the cost than when using the whole shank as a metal material.
In addition, by enclosing the outer portion of the core of the metal material with the sheath portion of the synthetic resin as in the present invention, it is possible to prevent freezing of water pipes, which are likely to occur in winter, due to the insulation and insulation of the resin itself.
In addition, the shank according to the present invention, even if some of the core portion or the sheath portion is damaged, since the other portion supports the pipeline there is an effect that can delay the spread of leakage damage.
