Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for searching a phone book of a mobile terminal is provided to allow a user to easily search a phone number when he/she wants to search for the phone number by using only partial information of the other party. CONSTITUTION: When a user wants to search for a phone number of the other party by using partial information, a list of phone numbers is displayed as a table visualized by lattice cells. Lattices are discriminated by business numbers or names of phone numbers and displayed in a different color or by an underline. The user can search for a desired phone number by shifting up and down and left and right on the lattice cells by using a direction key.
