Abstract

PURPOSE: An SMS(Short Message Service) method in a mobile communication network is provided to include origination time information in a short message to be transmitted to a callee's terminal, so that a callee can exactly know the origination time of the received short message. CONSTITUTION: If the subscriber of a calling terminal inputs the phone number of a called terminal and desired contents and makes a transmission request for the inputted short message, the calling terminal transmits the short message to a calling-side MSC(Mobile Switching Center) together with its own phone number. When receiving the short message from the calling terminal, the calling-side MSC adds the received time of the short message as origination time information to the received message and sends the short message to an associated SMSC(Short Message Service Center). The SMSC, based on the message transmitted from the calling-side MSC, creates a short message and transmits it to a called-side MSC. The called-side MSC extracts the phone number of the called terminal and transmits the short message to the called terminal. The called terminal displays the short message including the phone number of the calling terminal, the contents, origination time, and received time according to a preset message display environment or the user's selection.
