Description

유엠티에스의 에스디유 처리방법{SDU PROCESSING METHOD FOR UMTS}SDU PROCESSING METHOD FOR UMTS}

The present invention processes a service data unit (SDU) when a protocol data unit (PDU) is not received on an RLC layer of a 3GPP Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) mobile communication system. The present invention relates to a technology for performing a PDU, in particular, an order of PDUs exchanged between a transmitting end and a receiving end on an RLC layer, and when the PDU is not received at a promised time, the UDU can be adaptively processed according to a situation. It relates to the processing of SD oil of S.

In general, a PDU is exchanged between a transmitter and a receiver on the RLC layer of UMTS. However, according to 3GPP TS 25.322, when the PDU is not received even after the time or the promised number of times between the transmitting end and the receiving end is reached, the SDU is discarded by the promised method among several processing methods.

As described above, in the conventional UMTS, when the PDU is not received even after the time or the promised number of times between the transmitting end and the receiving end is reached, the SDU is processed according to the promised method between them. It could not be handled adaptively. As a result, there is a defect in that radio resources are wasted because the communication between the transmitter and the receiver is not performed smoothly.

Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to calculate the order of PDUs transmitted and received between a transmitting end and a receiving end on an RLC layer to adaptively adapt an SDU according to a situation when the PDU is not received even after reaching a promised time or a promised number of times. The present invention provides a method for treating SDU of UTM.

S1-S7: steps 1-7

In the method of processing SDU of UTM according to the present invention, the SDU is discarded based on a timer in the TM and UM modes of the SRB and does not perform the specified signaling, thereby discarding the SDU without mutual confirmation of the transmitting and receiving end. Process of doing; Transmitting a PDU as many times as possible retransmissions (MAXDAT) in an acknowleged mode (AM) of the SRB and not discarding the SDU; When the radio bearer (RB) is a mode for transmitting traffic data and the RLC mode is transparent mode (TM) or unacknowleged mode (UM), the SDU is discarded based on a timer and the specified signaling is performed. Do not process; When the RB is a mode for transmitting traffic data and the RLC mode is an AM mode, an MRW PDU is discarded after transmitting MRW PDUs as many times as possible retransmissions, or an MDU PDU is transmitted by discarding an SDU based on a timer and performing specified signaling. It is made of a process, described in detail with reference to Figure 1 attached to the SD oil treatment method of the present invention as follows.

In the present invention, if the PDU is not received even after the promised time or the promised number of times is calculated by calculating the order of PDUs transmitted and received between the transmitter and the receiver on the RLC layer, processing is performed by one of the following four processing methods. Done.

① 타이머를 기반으로 SDU를 폐기하고, 명시된 시그널링(signaling)을 수행함.① Discard the SDU based on the timer and perform the specified signaling.

② 타이머를 기반으로 SDU를 폐기하고, 명시된 시그널링을 수행하지 않음.② Discard the SDU based on the timer and do not perform the specified signaling.

③ 가능한 재전송 횟수(MAXDAT) 만큼 PDU를 전송한 후 SDU를 폐기함.③ Discard the SDU after transmitting the PDU as many times as possible (MAXDAT).

④ 가능한 재전송 횟수(MAXDAT) 만큼 PDU를 전송한 후 SDU를 폐기하지 않음.④ SDUs are not discarded after transmitting PDUs as much as possible retransmissions (MAXDAT).

For reference, the timer is a timer for measuring the time spent in the RLC layer for each RLC SDU.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, depending on whether the signaling is to perform the specified signaling (explicit signaling) as described above ②, or to perform the remaining three specified signaling (①, ③, ④).

According to the second aspect of the present invention, a specified signaling method is classified into a method of transmitting a MRW (MRW) PDU as in ① and ③ and a method of transmitting a reset PDU as in ④.

Radio bearers in UMTS are classified into SRBs and RBs according to signaling data and traffic data.

In addition, it is classified into four types according to QoS, namely, conversational, streaming, interactive, and background class, and according to service area, PS (PS) data, CS (CS) : Circuit Switched) data. The interactive and streaming classes are sent as CS data, and the bidirectional and background classes are sent as PS data.

The method of selecting and performing the four SDU processing methods according to the type of RB and data is described in more detail with reference to FIG. 1 as follows.

(S1-S3)When the RB is SRB and the RLC mode is TM or mode, that is, in the TM and UM modes of the SRB, as shown in the above ②, "discard the SDU based on the timer and do not perform the specified signaling" as described in ②. Discard SDUs without mutual confirmation (S1-S3)

That is, when the RLC SDUs come down to the RLC layer, a counting operation of a timer measuring the time staying in the RLC layer starts for each RLC SDU, and the SDU is successfully executed until the predetermined value is counted. If not sent, discard the SDUs.

(S4)However, when the RB is the SRB and the RLC mode is the AM mode, signaling data through the SRB should not be lost even one bit, so the MRW PDU should not be used. Therefore, if there is data loss, the reset PDU transmission method, which starts from the first bit of data, is used. Therefore, a method of not discarding the SDU after transmitting PDUs by the number of MAXDATs is used as in ④.

(S5,S6)As a result of the checking in the first step S1, when the RB is a TRB for transmitting traffic data and the RLC mode is TM or UM mode, that is, RLC TM is used for CS data transmission, Discards the SDU and does not perform the mutual confirmation of the transmitting and receiving end using a "method of not performing the specified signaling." (S5, S6)

(S7)However, when the check result RB in the first step (S1) is a TRB for transmitting traffic data and the check result RLC mode in the fifth step (S5) is AM mode, that is, when the PS data transmission, As described above, "SDUs are discarded after PDUs are transmitted as many as MAXDAT" or MRW PDUs are transmitted by "discarding SDUs based on a timer and performing specified signaling" as in ①. (S7)

As described in detail above, the present invention allows an appropriate discard method to be selected according to the type of RB and the type of data among various SDU discard methods, thereby ensuring smooth communication between the transmitter and the receiver.
