Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for changing the key locations of a keypad in a mobile terminal is provided to enable a user to change and set the key values allocated to the keys of a keypad so that the user can arbitrarily change and use the key locations of the keypad. CONSTITUTION: A menu for modifying the keypad of a mobile phone is set(SP1). If the user selects the keypad modification menu(SP2), the mobile phone displays the presently set key map on the LCD window(SP3). The user appoints a key to modify(SP4). The user inputs a desired key value for the appointed key and creates a new key map. Then, if the user pushes the End button, the key locations of the keypad are changed as the new key map is applied(SP5).
