Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of displaying schedule information related to a broadcast program on a television screen in parallel with a simple channel image. In more detail, a broadcasting server of a broadcasting station receives image data corresponding to each channel. The screen generator built in the transmission server captures the received image data, generates simple channel data, and transmits the received channel data to the transmitter. The transmitter transmits the received simple channel data and schedule data of the broadcast program to the set-top box. The set-top box reproduces the simple channel data received from the transmitter as a simple channel image through decoding and graphic processing, synthesizes it with the schedule data, and simultaneously displays the schedule data and the simple channel image on a television screen. .
The simple channel image thus displayed visually displays an image of a broadcast program according to each channel to not only draw attention to the viewer, but also function as an electronic program guide (EPG).

The present invention relates to a method of displaying schedule information related to a broadcast program in parallel with a simple channel image in digital broadcasting.

In general, in digital broadcasting, unlike analog broadcasting, a variety of information related to a television program being broadcasted can be obtained together. The broadcast station transmits not only data related to video and audio constituting a broadcast program (hereinafter referred to as 'video / audio data') but also data related to various information related to the broadcast program (hereinafter referred to as 'information data'). For this reason, the viewer may be provided with a digital broadcast set-top box and a television having a function of receiving and playing digital broadcast signals, or a television having such a set-top box, so that the viewer can watch the digital broadcast as described above.

In this case, among the data related to the various information related to the broadcast program, that is, the data transmitted as the information data, schedule data having information such as a program title and a brief description of the broadcast program that is broadcast by each broadcasting station or channel, and the time of the broadcast The schedule data is received in the set-top box for digital broadcasting at predetermined time intervals and stored in a predetermined memory block, and the stored schedule data is graphically processed in the set-top box and displayed on a television screen to be specified by a user. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention for solving the above-described conventional problems is that a viewer can easily display a simple channel image by displaying at least one simple channel image for displaying a broadcast screen of each channel on the conventional pilot banner or pidji. According to the method of the present invention for achieving the above object, a broadcast server's broadcast server receives video data corresponding to each channel, and a screen generator built in the broadcast server captures the received video data to generate simple channel data.
