Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for automatically setting an RTC(Real Time Clock) of a dual mode terminal is provided to set the current time with the real-time information without an RTC chip by receiving the real-time information from a base station through a synchronous modem and transmitting the real-time information through an asynchronous modem. CONSTITUTION: The real-time information is received from the base station through the synchronous modem. The synchronous modem is turned of after transmitting the real-time information, and the asynchronous modem sets the current time according to the real-time information received from the synchronous modem. If the asynchronous modem misses the real-time information received from the synchronous modem, the synchronous modem is turned on. The synchronous modem receives the real-time information from the base station and transmits the real-time information to the asynchronous modem again.
